Eversti Johnny Rico (Casper Van Dien) viruu kuolemansellissä odottaen tuomionsa
täytäntöönpanoa, kun hänet revitään pelastusoperaation johtajaksi kaukaiselle
OM-1 -planeetalle. Jo pitkään kestänyt epätoivoinen taistelu niin tuttuja kuin
tuntemattomiakin ötököitä vastaan näyttää vihdoin kääntyvän ihmiskunnan
voitoksi, kun Rico joukkoineen saa käyttöönsä Federaation uuden
Marauder-aseteknologian. Saman aikaisesti kuitenkin Kapteeni Lola Beckin (Jolene
Blalock) johtamalle pelastettavien ryhmälle alkaa valjeta, että jokin planeetta
OM-1:llä on pahasti vialla. Otököillä on nimittäin hallussaan salainen ase, joka
