During World War II, Captain Cassidy and his crew
of submariners are ordered into Tokyo Bay on a
secret mission. They are to gather information in
advance of the planned bombing of Tokyo. Along the
way, the crew learn about each other as they face
the enemy and some of them lose their lives. After
getting the information they need, they face the
harrowing task of getting free once their presence
is discovered. (Taken from the IMDb)
I've
really liked this flick for quite a long time and
I'm also a fan of Cary Grant. I would guess that
those acquainted with subs of the era will find a
lot that's not so accurate, but still I think this
is a top notch war film. Made during the war, this
film might seem quite prejudicial against the
Japanese, but that was the prevailing and
acceptable attitude of the time. Please enjoy.
