When Oz returns home he is horrified to discover that his family has moved on and he no longer has a tenancy on his flat. Anxious about his son Rod, he tracks him down to his school where he learns that Marjorie and Sandro, her boyfriend, are taking Rod to live in Italy. Neville's wife Brenda persuades Marjorie to allow Oz to see Rod and say goodbye.
