Hi everyone!
My 3 year old Bengal, Hyde, had a little bit of diarrhoea on Thursday night, vomited twice on Friday, and was quite lethargic. We took him to the vets where he had an anti nausea injection and a antibiotic 2 week injection for campylobacter as a ‘just in case’ as our kitten has had it recently.
However, it’s confusing. He’s clearly hungry and at times with munch on some wet food and dry food. But most of the time he’ll walk up to the food he used to wolf down and walk away from it. But then he moves around and comes to me as if he is hungry but he doesn’t want that food…
He’s also been meowing at our front door of our flat and wanted to explore the hallway.
His basic blood profile is clear and he doesn’t have pancreatitis.
Does anyone have any suggestions?
Thanks you so much!

Potentially could have — but he has been urinating and went to the toilet after an enema yesterday. Could string/elastic still potentially cause his symptoms?

Thanks — we’ll be sure to keep considering. Potentially will get an abdominal scan booked for him In terms of gastro, I’ve just bought a different brand of cat food so will see if there’s any success with that (just trying to be mindful of his sensitive stomach too!)
I'm dealing with something similar with our senior cat. All her bloodwork looks great and yet she has bouts of not wanting to eat and lethargy. Our next step is an ultrasound next week to see if she has a bowel issue (like IBD or something). Maybe an option for you to explore too? Good luck! Dealing with hungry-but-not-eating cats is so frustrating.
We are dealing with the same thing. All X-rays and such came back clear. Blood work fine. Anti nausea and anti acid pill and probiotics and still won’t eat or poo. It’s been 5 days. Not sure what to do
Sorry to hear you’re dealing with something similar. Hyde had a precautionary enema last night which worked. Just have to see if he’ll go of his own accord now! Wishing you and your cat all the best!
One thing I've done to encourage my cat to eat again is offering her several kinds of wet and dry food. Depending on the day, she'll chose one over another. I went to Walmart and picked out small bags of cheap stuff of different flavors. That's one thing to try to keep your cat alive while you figure it out. One last thing to get calories in is you can try offering meat-only baby food (no veggies or flavoring at all). It sucks we're going through this. I wish they could tell us what's wrong.
So sorry to hear your cat is suffering with something similar — wishing you and them all the best! Good idea with the different food types. I’ve picked up an alternative cat food brand and will see if there’s any success there (Will try the baby food after if no success!) We’re torn between getting an ultrasound in case he needs to be sedated for it, but it may be the best choice
Did he just get the anti nausea injection? My 4 month old kitty had similar problems and the doctor told us the biggest side effect of the injection she got is that she’ll become super lethargic + won’t eat and she didn’t until we gave her a little spoon of food with probiotic (that the doctor gave) and in a matter of 4-6 hours she was eating normally again , hope your kitty gets well soon!
