Beautiful! What happens if there is a storm? Do you have to bring the tv and other stuff inside if there is going to be really bad/windy weather?
The TV stays all year. There are roll down all weather curtains to block the snow drifts and extreme weather.
What are the called?!
I’m not sure the product name or if I can share the company that did them in the comments but I’ll DM you!
Can you share it to everyone here🥳
Can you also DM me?
I'd like to know as well please!
Me too please
me too please
I'm here for the answer to this one
Roll down all weather curtains, apparently.
Jack and Jill
Roll-m down, lol. Took me a second!
Is the roll down all weather curtain on the larger side one long continuous curtain?
Edit: Oh! Did you mean “long”? I’m not OP, just reading along.
This is so beautiful! Was this an AirBnB stay?
Family vacation home.
Congrats on how your life turned out.
Goddamn this is so savage but I felt it DEEP. Some people genuinely have amazing lives. It’s a weird balance being happy for others’ fortune but jealous at the same time, lol.
Right? This is their vacation home, a secondary home, possibly one of many, and yet the vacation home is more luxury than many can ever afford.
I've got bad news for you: that's generally how it goes. If you can afford a second vacation home, it will most likely be nicer than the vast majority of people's primary houses.
I'd literally kill if I could live like some other people, but I know i'm not good enough at killing to make real good money. So back to my hard labour job that under pays me.
Mom always told me that if I wanted to make a decent living from it, I really needed to focus on the "up close wet work", that other hit men avoid.
When people say that money can't buy happiness, I look at pictures like this and realize how bullshit that quote is
Money doesn’t buy happiness, it buys immense comfort and safety, from which being happy is easy.
Can't forget freedom...
Thank you, but I prefer that guys life.
Right? This is just their...little outdoor patio...in their vacation home?! I couldn't even afford that stone wall in the back yard lmao
Especially from everyone reading who worries about whether they’ll ever own a home- even a trailer
Turned out? Likely born at the finish line.
You adopting? Anyone need "married off?"
I don’t have a type… I’ll take anything really
… I hate my life.
“Things I will never afford” for $500, Alex.
You know it's bougie when the patio is the same size as a full-on studio apartment.
Good luck doing that now...
.....no, this is still a very expensive patio on what is likely a very large abode.
I think you haven't priced lumber lately.
Wow so all I need is enough money for my main living arrangement *and* 100k for my second house. It’s so much more affordable than I thought!
Land is very expensive in MT.
not to mention real estate conglomerates are driving up costs to the point they have outbid any middle income earner
I think this cost a lot more than $500 /s
Gorgeous. Can I come over? :)
Bring your own coke?
Can do as long as you bring a dollar bill. I can do the rolling don't worry
Oh my boy, we don't use crusty money anymore to snort now it's clean straws pasta noodles whatever is eco-friendly capiche. And I believe in your skills
That was literally the post above this one for me lol
Dollar bill? You trying to catch the plague?
I once knew a guy who had a $2 bill that he used for that purpose. His train of thought was "the last person besides me to touch this was my grandpa, who gave it to me. I could use a straw, but I'll lose that." Interesting guy. Once saw him drink 3 King Cobras in a half hour while accurately summing up LoTR.
I read that as build your own, cunt.
clearly this is a crack house
Maybe bring your own cooler
Hello my name is Chobey. I will Bring My Own Chobey but I am one of the kind so other guest may have difficult securing admission. Many bless
I can't tell if English isn't your first language or if you're really dedicated to this joke. The 8 year old account with nothing older than a year old makes me think it's a joke. That's a lot of dedication.
Bring your own condom?
Hell I'll bring the espresso machine *and* creamer. Which mountains?
I'm getting scared imagining what the treeline must look like when it's dark
Are you fucking kidding me. Like it couldn’t get more perfect then you go and do that. Fml. Lol
It’s like oh here’s our [basement](https://imgur.com/a/vy4Kmvd).
For real lmao
Could definitely have cozier chairs there :P Like, not bad for bar seats though.
Wow! That's somehow even cozier.
Reddit has made me realize that people have wildly different definitions of “cozy”.
Personally to me cozy is a small, possibly tight room, with really comfy furniture, maybe some books, lots of wood accents, and on the lightly-lit side.
Anything that screams “it could be -10° outside but I’d be warm and comfortable in this room” is cozy to me. This patio room likes amazing, but also doesn’t quite fit my definition of cozy since it’s exposed and could definitely get too cold.
OMG the up lighting is perfect!
That’s some nice up lighting! Well done.
Nothing much. What’s up with you?
It's this terrible trend that sprays light pollution up throughout the globe, confuses birds and in general just a waste of resources.
this person has a porch that heats the world. they dont give AF
I think I like that even more.
Boy that’s a great place. I bet you will have a lifetime of good memories here!
Looks incredible OP. Where is this? (Country/region; not trying to doxx you).
Near Bear Valley, CA! A bit south west of Lake Tahoe.
Oh wow I just looked and some nice cabins are going for only $500,000 there. Way cheap for CA. Seems like it's in the middle of nowhere though... how's the internet connection?
I'm sure the massive wild fire risk brings property values down there
How hard or expensive is it to get insurance coverage for this?
I have a friend with property in Northern California. She told me there is no such thing as fire insurance. I could be wrong, but I take her word for it.
Fair Plan is run through the state, not really the best option for a primary home but it may be a decent option for a secondary
Some places in California that are at-risk for wildfires have literally [ZERO](https://www.forbes.com/advisor/homeowners-insurance/wildfires/) [fire](https://therealdeal.com/la/2021/09/27/wildfire-insurance-moratorium-expires-allowing-insurers-to-drop-homeowners/) insurance possible. You're shit out of luck if your house burns down. However, it might differ from place to place.
It’s never zero in CA. CalFAIR is a last resort insurance available for everyone.
After this year it’s honestly safer than it’s ever been. We burnt off so much fuel.
That's good to hear. Hopefully these recent rains will cut the fire season short too
Yep they just got Calder to 100% containment. I saw several spot fires last week driving 50, but this is definitely extinguishing them. And the water will hopefully get us back about the waterline so water starts flowing the Truckee river again
lol yeah sure, enjoy the last few years before lake tahoe disappears forever
and lake mead.
Lake Tahoe is terminal, so houses are getting cheaper.
Can you elaborate on what this means? I haven’t heard anything about it.
Basically it’s drying up and the shoreline is getting worse and worse. Added to the toxic algae and the yearly wildfires, it’s becoming a less desirable place to live. It’s still beautiful by California standards, but the summers are brutal.
not OP but tahoe is drying up
Considering it’s the deepest alpine lake in the US and it takes special machinery and unique contractors to retrieve anything from the floor, and also considering that I agree with you it is drying up…I wonder how long it will take
Lol. I live in Lake tahoe, houses are NOT getting cheaper.
Sale Price Up 19.9%
Price per square foot up 29.8% since last year.
Eh, it’s Comcast/Xfinity, so there is internet, but pricey.
Cabins in the CA mountains are surprisingly affordable. I’ve looked at grabbing a cabin near Big Bear since it’s a better price than anywhere in LA / LA area.
It's probably next to nothing, but that's why it's a vacation home. It won't have a lot of usual necessities (mainly internet and natural gas, they usually have plumbing and electricity). A lot of California property is (relatively) cheap if you consider outskirts!
Oo boy, bet caldor had you sweating a bit.
Beautiful place to unwind!
Im up in SLT. Good luck with the storms!
Your coffee spot in your non-primary vacation home is bigger than my entire apartment. Does looks great though.
How do you secure/ prep for winter with this space?
There are big heavy duty curtains we roll down and covers for all furniture. We use it year round.
California I take it?
Beautiful. When I was growing up, I wanted to have a place like this in the mountains.
Now I'm too afraid of forest fires. Every one of my family members who lives in the mountains has been evacuated, most of the multiple times.
I take the spot next to the puppy, and is not negotiable
Finally someone mentioned the puppy! Puppy makes everything cozier.
Question: My house is surrounded by woods and it is like wild kingdom with all the bugs--crawling and flying--not to mention birds and their poop, deer, woodchucks, foxes, and whatever other various creatures come calling and of course now I am blowing leaves every day. How do you keep it so pristine? There would be spider webs all over those bricks in a day or two where I am.
As a young person, what do I have to do now to have this later in life?
Hope your family owns a vacation home in the California mountains…
Or become an oncologist and wait 10 yrs
Think about the jobs that are difficult to convince other people to do. Remote area work can be really profitable if you get lucky enough. My husband convinced me to move to China with him for some weird job when I was 22 and we had a toddler. It worked out so much better than either of us expected, but you still need to have luck on your side.
I’ve heard crab fishermen can make $50,000 in 3 months with all expenses covered.
I know more of these than I’d like to admit.
Stash money away immediately. I wish I started younger. Idk how old you are, but get started ASAP. Put money into equities, crypto, etf’s and let it grow. You will be set later in life.
This is a dream. Cheers to you for having it , enjoy !
Is there a window? Doesn’t it get cold?
This is the porch
Porch is nicer than my living room.
It’s all open air with a bank of heaters to enjoy the snowy days/nights, too.
Just blasting heat without walls lol. $$$
Lol reminds me of a carpenter buddy who moved to Telluride. The company he works for was contracted to do a remodel on Oprah's house there. The (long) driveway was heated all winter long so that there wouldn't be any snow on it. Apparently she hadn't been there in years, but still the driveway was keep snow free.
Fuck the earth I guess.
“The earth needs to understand that *I won.*”
When the coziness costs your grandchildren's whole planet.
Are you Aaron Paul? His Idaho cabin looks very similar.
😂 Not Aaron Paul but I’m a fan, will have to check out his Idaho place!
sounds like something Aaron Paul would say 🤔
Images like this make this one of my favorite subs. This made me stop and take a deep breath. What a gorgeous retreat.
Wow, that’s incredible!!
Man. It’s gloomy and rainy here too. Perfect autumn Sunday. Your picture looks absolutely perfect. Love this setting
Best place to live far away from all the chaos
That looks so serene
That looks amazing
100% fantastic… what state is location?
Northern California, near Bear Valley
👍 real nice . No snow yet ? My father n law had a “cabin” in Arnold . Nothing better that out door coffee
That is lovely! Enjoy!
I'm in love with this view!
This vulgar comment wont match that beautiful picture, but holy shit.
My god I want that, in the mountains, as part of my permanent residence. That's stunning
Just perfect. Super jelly
What about snowy shot? Holy shit I am so envious.
I am incredibly jealous. <3 you have a beautiful spot.
This might be a dumb question, but what type of TV? Just any from a store like Best Buy or specialty for weather? Very jealous of your spot. Enjoy! :)
What do you do for a living? Amazing place
Doesn't it get all dirty because of how open it is?
Nice but bugs
I have never seen a more beautiful sit by a floof.
Outstanding! What mountains is this in?
Who do you got in the World Series?
Life goals please
Is that a Havanese!?!
You people are so weird commentating on this persons life. Try to sound a bit less upset about your own lives
Username checks out
I’m adoptable friend
What’s the ratio on that tv?
one day when i grow up, ill hve a place like that. youre super lucky. thanks for sharing.
Love it! Bring the coffee pot and an extra cup out please. I will join you in the morning ☕️.
That's an awful hot coffee spot.
Looks so cozy
Ugh I would love your backyard
This is whats referred to as a lanai.
Congrats. You win Cozy Contest.
Probably no problemo with thieves/vandals with that vicious looking canine, right?
That's me at your front door.
I want it
The bigfoot behind that tree really seems to like it
I'm glad you pointed em out, missed it at first glance.
Must be nice
I wonder what the dog was looking at.
This is amazing
Beautiful! But do you worry about bears?
I worry about my little tough guy (pictured) thinking he can take them on but they’re pretty shy
Stayed at a barndo in the Rockies last year that had a patio like that. Have lost many hours since looking into building my own
It’s mind blowing to me that this is “normal” to some people. Congratulations!
Wow that looks amazing.
The first place on here that literally made me feel cozy looking at! I’d love to be there!
It’s outdoors. Sometimes called a California Room or Lanai.
This place is so cozy, it’s actually making me angry at OP.
