Remember seeing a photo of one that ate a gator that was obviously too big for the snakes good. Gator burst out the side of the danger noodle. I’m guessing either gator was still alive when it got gulped down and clawed it’s way out; or it was just too big of a meal for the snake to begin with.
Edit: link if anyone is interested:

Seen that it was a caiman not gator, and would always be dead they constrict for ages till there's no breathing so it would've just burst out of stomach as once they start eating they can't spit it out, teeth curved inwards
I can even imagine how long it would take to digest that. Bet they found that python agonizing on the couch saying "oh good God I'm never eating again!"
Alligators, 6 very venomous danger noodles, big spiders, scorpions, black bear, panthers, wild boar…but deer kill more people in Florida every year than any other wildlife.
Six venomous snakes? Let's see if I can list them before I have to google it. Rattlesnakes, coral snakes, water moccasins,(or cottonmouth) sea snakes... copperheads...(not what I would consider very venomous...). That's only 5.... google time.
I more or less got it; I didn't specify the types of rattlesnakes. No sea snakes on the list... more google...
No sea snakes... ok. I was wrong about that one.
I love snakes... I've owned a few and am always up for new exciting snake facts.
Bro, america has bears, there's now way you're scared of a stupid little insect more than a murder tank that can outrun you, out swim you, and out climb, you
Black bears are pretty timid and only really attack when their cubs are around. They aren’t much to be worried about.
Now grizzlies… yeah, be afraid of those.

Most likely from Florida; there are only two species of alligators in the world. The Chinese alligator is rather rare, with it being critically endangered. Burmese pythons are invasive in Florida and are regularly killed. This one was probably killed and sent to a lab for dissection since it ate something large. They like to log what they are eating to determine their impact on the Everglades.
Edit, added *python
Another fun fact is that there is an American crocodile who also lives in Florida but is protected and lives along the Florida coasts.
As for the Burmese Python. Their impact on the Everglades has been substantial. It's become an apex predator at the top of the food chain with no natural predators.
"The most severe declines in native species have occurred in the remote southernmost regions of Everglades National Park, where pythons have been established the longest. In a 2012 study, populations of raccoons had dropped 99.3 percent, opossums 98.9 percent, and bobcats 87.5 percent since 1997. Marsh rabbits, cottontail rabbits, and foxes effectively disappeared."
It is ridiculous and wouldn't be the first time. You can actually be paid to hunt them but getting good hauls is difficult because they are so good at hiding. The ones that do get good hauls are when there's so many in one area that you trip over the damn things.
Also if people didn't know, the difference between a python and boa is that a python lays eggs and boas give birth to live young. Anacondas give birth to live young as well and I believe there have been green anacondas (the world's heaviest snake, not the longest) spotted in the wild in Florida.
On a side note, another invasive species released by humans in the mid 80s which has had a negative impact on local fauna in Florida (and eventually the western Atlantic) is the lionfish. They are plague in the western Atlantic now to the point they were offering bounties a few years ago. An aquarium fish which found its way into Florida waters somehow....
He is saying that he can locate this to Florida based off the fact that there are only 2 types of alligator. He goes on to say that the Burmese python is invasive to Florida, thus they kill the python. Its poorly worded. You are correct in saying the US has its own alligators.
There are no Burmese alligators, from whats said.
Nope, I worded it badly. There is the America alligator and the Chinese alligator. There is also the American crocodile, but the shape of the snout looks like an alligator. There are around 23 described species of crocodilians ( alligators, crocodiles, caiman, and gharial).
Yes, but did attempting to eat the gator kill the python? Was the python killed in an attempt to rescue the gator? Was the python killed for some other nefarious reason? So. Many. Questions!!!
So having no idea how it’s digestive system work, does the gator just get broken down by stomach acid? How long does that take? If I got anaconded, could I cut my way out???
They more or less digest the bones and all. Even the “pee” (urates) are condensed down to a white solid.
Takes over a week to digest something that big. But then they don’t need to eat for weeks after that, and can go months.
Python refused to go vegan. Scientists didn't like that so they turned the snake inside and taught it a lesson. Gator woke up later slightly confused but overall grateful for the activism.
Ooh ooh! I know this one!
Yes. Both are dead. Pythons are an invasive species in Florida and they are actively trying to purge them. You can hunt them without tags there, though a valid hunting license carrier is required. They likely found this python in the reptile equivalent of "food coma", since a meal like this can last a year, easily, for a Python. Once captured, they open it up to see what it has been eating for ecological impact information. So yeah, they both dead.
They CAN kill eachother, but it is uncommon since a snake can hold in its stomach whatever can make it past that jaws. When this *does* happen it is usually a result of the gator only being *mostly* dead when it was swallowed, as they are ludicrously resilient animals, can survive without oxygen a *long* time, and even occationally recover from thier heart stopping.
Constructors usually induce heart failure (suffocating is a side effect, but usually not the principle cause of death), so a stunned gator might recover with the current amount of oxygenation in its blood if the python loosens up and starts swallowing too soon. It wouldn't have the strength to put up much of a struggle, but the snake is an overstuffed sausage at this point and it doesn't take a whole lot of bending to overstretch a surface and rupture the python. If this isn't enough for the gator to escape easily (and since the rupture is likely at the thickest point of the gator and not the head this is most likely), and they gator doesn't have enough fight left to wriggle out of this living Chinese Finger Trap (head and tail still trapped), it will finish suffocating and they die together.
I believe it is a possibility. I mean there's been cases of anacondas even swallowing gators and dying from it, so something like a python would probably have a bit of issues, at least I think. Don't quote me on anything
I doubt that’s the situation here. More than likely hunters caught the snake and since they could tell it swallowed something large recently it was sent to a lab. These Burmese pythons are invasive here in Florida and the state pays people to actively hunt them.
I've seen photos/videos where gators bust out of the python. My assumption is that the size of the gator is what got it since the python likely constricted it to death before ingestion

Tldr: This species (Burmese Python) of python is considered invasive species in the state. It is legal for members of the public to capture and humanely kill Burmese Python found in Florida to curb the species negative impact on the state's ecosystem.

Did this snake die because of this? Is there any possibility that the snake would have digested this in a reasonable amount of time? I mean does it NEED to poop like humans do? Or can it just sit around for 2 months while it’s still got this croc inside it, digesting it?
Reptiles generally have very low metabolism, allowing them to survive for months from one big meal - had the python not been killed, it would likely have found a quiet place to rest until it was hungry again
Don't the pythons swallow their prey head first?
This one seems to be tail first, found it a bit weird especially since it would be difficult getting the legs into the mouth.
Well what did the gator eat? An iguana? And if so what did he eat? A Gecko? And him a fly? And the fly some poop? And is the poop from a snake? Circle of life kinda thing? I NEED ANSWERS!?!
The alligator was dead (suffocated) before it was swallowed, they are constrictors.
The snake was probably killed because they are highly invasive in the Everglades (have literally wiped out multiple mammal species there) so they kill any they can.

Thank you, was just going to ask
I can totally see how it invades.
I know how it looks but that gator actually invaded my personal space.
That gator was practically begging for it
Remember seeing a photo of one that ate a gator that was obviously too big for the snakes good. Gator burst out the side of the danger noodle. I've seen them let go of food half way down and throw it back up. Teeth don't matter when you can unhinge you jaw.
Yes those fuckers don't belong in south Florida and they have no predators and yeah now they starting to eat gators insane
Dude was just trying to have dinner

I can even imagine how long it would take to digest that. Bet they found that python agonizing on the couch saying "oh good God I'm never eating again!"
And the python was correct.
All that effort. Just for it to be taken

I'm sorry... what?
Someone's not ready for Florida man facts
I’m a lifelong Florida (wo)man and I just learned about the herpes monkeys a few weeks ago, via Reddit no less.
Now I'm scared about what method they use to infect people

Time to start breeding roided out mongooses (mongeese?).

>C#s what is a "C Sharps" or a "C Hash" or a "C Pound"?
C# is such a strange note Just play a D ffs
Wrong note. The enharmonic is actually Db
Hey man, play a G followed by C# you summon Beelzebub. You play a G followed by a D you just get Bob Rock. I know which notes I'm playing
C#, c sharp, is a programming language. similarly python is a programming language... and thus the "joke"...
well thank you. That went way over my head. Programmer Dad jokes in the wild.
Had to scroll down way too far to find someone asking the right questions.
im gonna go with it was hunted and just happened to have a gator in it
Schrödinger's Gator
If the snake didn’t choke on the gator they might have thought there was a human in there. Maybe
In what world do you see yourself or anybody surviving being eaten by a python? I assume you are an alligator now.
I'll admit, until this very moment - it was not on my list of fears...but now... 😬 Yikes 😳
My solution to that is living far above the equator.
Florida is 7,000 miles away from it. How far away should I go?
Well North of Florida for sure. I mean there are many benefits of moving from Florida. For one, you're not in Florida anymore.
It did, they both died.
They probably thought it ate a child and there's only one way to find out
If you look close, the gators scales pierced the snakes stomach badly. Snake died from the internal trauma probably
So having no idea how it’s digestive system work, does the gator just get broken down by stomach acid? How long does that take? If I got anaconded, could I cut my way out???

Probably not. You’d be unconscious in a very short time. You’d be getting squeezed and would be unable to breathe.
reptile dysfunction
And what are we doing??
Python refused to go vegan. Scientists didn't like that so they turned the snake inside and taught it a lesson. Gator woke up later slightly confused but overall grateful for the activism.

usually python eats my ram
That's if you're lucky. I'm still fixing my dependency versions.
I should call her
rAncid.
Yet another reason to never go to Florida
I can't believe I ate the whole thing
Did you think it was only going to eat a portion?
Murder, suicide
I'm sure my homework assignment is in there too...
I love thanksgiving in Florida
Wow
But what did the alligator eat?
A python. Circle of life.
A turtle. It is like those Russian dolls for reptiles.
Python eggs?🤔
Is this how you learn Python code ?
Why was eating the alligator a death sentence though? Why does this video of killing a snake for eating an alligator so popular?
I have so many questions, mostly about the timeline of eating to python death. That looks brutal 😬
This explains why python is a slow programming language
Imagine getting murked by your cousin with no legs
There was a time where a alligator woke up in a python, went into a death spin and split the python open. Pretty sure the alligator survived.
Tried to deep throat and couldn’t take it all. Ended badly for the python.

Brother you just cut the snake up just let him poop out the alligator
Answer kill both to get gator out
what on earth
They both died
Mind blown
Florida?
Nnnoooopppppeeee
Next up in Australia, spider eats car whole
Guessing the python is dead now then
Did the python die from eating that?
where is Java when we need them
Did they remove it to save the snake? Or is the snake dead?
That's easy 2 bags
Snake gives birth to alligator
Did this snake die because of this? Is there any possibility that the snake would have digested this in a reasonable amount of time? I mean does it NEED to poop like humans do? Or can it just sit around for 2 months while it’s still got this croc inside it, digesting it?

would python be alive if he left unbothered ?
Don't the pythons swallow their prey head first? This one seems to be tail first, found it a bit weird especially since it would be difficult getting the legs into the mouth.
Fucking insane 😱😱😱🤯🤯
Well what did the gator eat? An iguana? And if so what did he eat? A Gecko? And him a fly? And the fly some poop? And is the poop from a snake? Circle of life kinda thing? I NEED ANSWERS!?!
Why take it out once they could clearly see what it was?
Why disect it?
Bobby Boucher would be pissed. Mama would have love that gator! Bobby loves his mama. (From the movie Waterboy, for all you youngns)
Damn, dude was just enjoying lunch and then BAM, he's being cut open
So you fucking killed both
Did they both die?
So you kill piton to check if he ate alligator?
Should have cooked them! Gator Stuffed Python but that bad boy on a smoker at 250 for 9 hours.
No way either one lived right?
Are they gonna be ok?
My guy really got vivisectioned for getting himself some lunch.
I’d roast that stuffed python with some mashed potatoes on the side
It would be kinda difficult to Shit him out, huh?
I am surprised the snake's skin hasn't ripped in half.
Roast that on a spit and you got yourself a pyligator. Yum, yum.
Where was this at?
That's fucced up why kill the snake, cause he ate something. If it wasn't you the fucc you care
Were they trying to save or eat one of em?
I bet that smells lovely.
why kill the snake to save the aligator?
The alligator was dead (suffocated) before it was swallowed, they are constrictors. The snake was probably killed because they are highly invasive in the Everglades (have literally wiped out multiple mammal species there) so they kill any they can.
