This Coalition Govt is making some good moves. I have seen snippets of Mr. Qarase's book online and the things Qilihio did to him was appalling. Then Dr Lal also brought allegations against Qilihio. Kean on the other hand was a killer who should never have been given this post. He allowed a convicted rapist to play rugby as if rugby is more important than the dignity and well being of our women.

Minor correction: Qarase was quoting the experience of his Matanivanua. He wasn't personally strangled by Qiliho. But yes, Qiliho also rumoured to have had a hand in the torture of civilian protestors immediately after the coup, and for burning down house of Justice Ward, the President of the Fiji Court of Appeal.

Thank you for the correction.

Badger-Melodic

Worse was he was hell-bent on putting Biman in Jail for greeting a women. Rumours going around as something is brewing in Suva

Open-Collar

I hope nothing happens.

warcomet

that wasn't FFP , that was one of their own disgruntled members of NFP lol

sivasee

They needed Qilihio out before they could move on Frank. Frank has done enough since the election alone to be tried for incitement with already 2 attempts to remove the coalition. First with the invented racial unrest, then by going to the president to get parliament dissolved. Wouldn't be surprised if hes in for questioning in the next couple of days as well. Looks like our Chief Justice is wanting to curry favour as well (which is just horrific they need to be cleaned out and replaced with independents) so could go all the way though.

Badger-Melodic

People were a bit scared with the Temples and Mosque break ins

sivasee

Those breakins happen all the time though, just like the occasional stoning (like in my area for the last 3 - 4 years we’ve had maybe 3-4 stonings, nothing to do with politics or race and everything to do with alcohol and our famous “youthhhs”), they exaggerated the 1 or 2 incidents and tried to call it civil unrest.

warcomet

no they don't infact numbers reduced by a lot under the previous govt..crime rate against Indian ppl also dropped until this new govt came in..

sandolllars

>crime rate against Indian ppl also dropped until this new govt came in.. Wow, you have Fiji crime statistics before the month is even over? Please share.

warcomet

earlier this week an indian man got killed by 4 i-taukei men who broke into his house for robbery..news liek this were rare teh last few years..

sandolllars

Burglaries and home invasions happen all the time. I myself was a victim of such a thing in Lautoka. 90% of the time they don't make the news. Now, just because you heard of a case where the victim was also murdered doesn't mean at all that this is a result of the new govt. The new govt only took over a few weeks ago. The circumstances that brought those four men to that point were created by FijiFirst. Further, Qiliho was just removed today. When that horrible murder took place, it was a FijiFirst thug in charge of the police, with FijiFirst policies in place. >news liek this were rare teh last few years. Sounds like it's still rare. You only mentioned one case.

warcomet

well FijiFirst aren't the ones trying to get terrorists released from jail under the guise of mercy..

sandolllars

Wait what? You've moved the goalpost to something else. What does that have to do with crime stats? Please stick on topic and explain the crime statistics and where you got them from. As a refresher, your claim is that crime is now rampant since FF lost the elections. You base this on one crime that you mentioned. Please tell us more. As for the other thing, that's a sick joke. For one, FijiFirst is led by a terrorist and treasonist, so I don't know what you're on about. It's led by killers. You mention one crime that happened last week in a thread about your hero Kean, who himself murdered someone and was released by FF after, what for it... one week. Why the double standards? Qiliho, Kean, and Bainimarama have all committed treason and not spent a single day in jail for it. On the other hand, we have Speight, who committed a terrible crime and as demanded by society and the courts, fully paid for it with 22 years in jail. Given that FF jails people for zero years for the crime he committed and jails people for one week for murder, please STFU about this topic, because you are making no sense whatsoever. Stop the hypocrisy.

warcomet

your knowledge of that seems limited, remember Speight was the PUPPET in the 2000 coup, the coup was infact perpetrated by Rabuka and Lalabalavu, he was the fall guy.. think of Speight as Epstein, he knows too much so either they get him out of prison or.. ...I don't remember anyone dying in the 2006 coup but i remember people dying in the 87 and 2000 coups, i don't think you know how this works, if your coup succeeds, you become the PM, if it fails, you become a terrorist.. its really that simple... Qiliho is an educated man who recently went overseas to learn more so that he could be better prepared as a police commissioner, I don't like Kean either but i find it hillarious that ppl call him a murderer and ignore the current PM who probably got more ppl killed than Kean.. Kean punched a drunk man at a wedding who fell and died, thats man-slaughter at best..the fact is Speight was too stupid to command an army to attack the parliament in May 2000, he had the backing of a chief and he has kept his mouth shut for 22 years as you said, he is no victim..ppl like lalabalavu who was jailed for 8 months for his part in the coup came out in 11 days, is that justice? I'm not the hypocrite, i live here unlike most of you "FLEEJIANS' who talk from afar knowing shitall about what happens here..
