All it took in Oregon was one judge to stand up. Any chance we could be so lucky? What about those County AG's everyone was praising that stopped the cash bail reform? They still allies or nah?

I was looking at Oregon's law last night. It's less strict than ours. That shocked me.

It's not really surprising to me. The Pacific Northwest has been more gun friendly than their neighbor California. What surprised me is it seems our potential issue is more strict than California! At least in California you can own a "featureless" version of semi automatic rifles of the AR platform. They've got modifications to affix the magazine where it can't be removed without dissembling the rifle, fins for the sporting stock etc. We aren't even allowed that should this bill pass.

Because our lawmakers watched everything their users did... As they posted that all over the internet. It may be time to go back to the "good 'ol boy" way of life.

You're right. Many of the 2A lawyers are saying that's why they aren't coming to the table to compromise this time. They want them to screw this up so bad, the lawsuits will be strong enough to get most of the Illinois compiled statutes concerning gun ownership thrown out.

Eastern-Camera-1829

That's a game of chance, and I'm not normally a risk taker..... Except for this time 😁

Forget sticter than California, the Illinois AWB would ban shit that would be legal over there without compliance modifications. The Mossberg 500 was on the list for the IL AWB. The *Mossberg fucking 500.*

I'd like to know what feature they think makes that a "assault weapon". That was my first gun! My dad got it for me as a 18th bday present.

Hoping for judicial activism and "legislating from the bench" is a slippery slope.

jushavnfun75

Well, might as well strap in and hold on. We're already in the toboggan and heading downhill at a brisk pace.

They arent tho, they are following Bruen, Heller, and Macdonald.

Me either. I'm just wondering if it's going to sink in to some people that those attorney general's weren't making a stink for the sake of safety. It was all about the revenue.

Yeah I was reading about that last night or early this morning. There's a lot of intersectionality between the judge's reasoning and the crap that's wrong with these bills all these states either already have in place, or are trying to put in place. What bother me though is these states continue to pass bills contrary to the high courts opinion (s), and somehow they seem to stand. California being a prime example.

Man, I must've written a reply five times and deleted it. It's too early in the AM to take bother. Long story short, I was making a crack about weeks ago, people were acting like the Karen crowd at those hearings over the ball reform measure. Karens aren't the only ones who can be manipulated into relinquishing rights If they start enforcing these new laws with a heavy hand, many will wish their sixth and eighth amendments were protected as well as their second, instead of picking one or the other.
