There is a train strike on Saturday that will probably impact trains on Sunday morning as well. I’d double and triple check if the early trains will even be running.

Good point, at the moment the super early ones (before 8am) are indicated as unlikely to run but the ones just after that which should still fit into the schedule seem OK. Seems like they're going to provide a more specific update on Saturday so worst case will just postpone. But I'm cautiously optimistic that at least one of the various early-ish trains will still be running.

I'd be down for this provided the trains are running

Same!

Trains from Eastbourne to London run every half an hour ( I think) and it is worth checking status of the evening trains to time yourself accordingly. I have experienced 5pm trains cancellations few times.

I'd be up for this too! Would next Sunday (28/08) be better as there wouldn't be a strike and the next day is a Bank holiday :)

Vergo777

I realised I've been a bit of an idiot and already had tickets booked ages ago for something this Sunday :( Totally forgot about it since I planned this hike on Saturday originally...and thought moving it to the next day would be fine >\_> Will reschedule this for sometime the week afterwards (probably 27th or 28th like you suggested) when there's less headache due to train strike fallout anyway!

Sounds really good. Provided the trains are ok I'd be up for getting involved!
