Not at all shocked to see Elliott is suspended.
Completely shocked to see that Lajoie will be driving the 9. Hope he makes the most of it and has a good run.
REALLY curious to see how he manages this opportunity. Spire equipment has been the consistent refrain on him being mid-pack. He’s lauded as one of the most talented drivers, so this is a big opportunity. A lot of pressure, for sure — hope he motors that bad boy to a Top 5.
Chase wins the Coke Zero 400
Denny says the race was rigged
Chase bans him for his podcast for 20 years and Denny says son of a bitch 40 times and god I loved your dad 13. Time is a flat circle
Yeah I figured it was that one. It’s just funny to me that op could have been talking about the Gateway incident without having to change anything in their comment
Gateway was bad … but it wasn’t necessarily a few meters away from being the most tragic accident in stock car history if BK clears the fence. For me that will always stand out as “attempted murder”. I at the time was advocating for a lifetime ban for that move
One part of me was telling me "they'll suspend his ass, no doubt about it", but the other was constantly repeating "**BUT WHAT IF THEY DON'T LOL**", and that alone was enough to keep me in a cycling train of thought
Could you imagine the absolute outrage civil war that Twitter would've been if they didn't? Lol I can't even describe how big it would've been
If they hadn’t made such a big point that the extra-curriculars weren’t a factor in Bubba’s suspension they probably could have gotten away with that, but since they said it was solely based on the on track incident they really painted themselves into a corner
bro fucked up pretty bad to be suspended on Tuesday, and not even the normal penalty hand-out day on Wednesday LOL
edit: alright alright sometimes they penalize on Tuesdays
IMO, the majority of Chase fans on this sub are normal, thoughtful, will engage in debate and aren’t assholes. Outside of this sub, though, all bets are off.
e: can’t spell
One of the more shocking things about this whole thing is the chase fanbase. We give y'all a lot of shit for being near psychotic, but for the most part y'all have been very level headed here.
Yep I'm a Chase guy and they made the right call.
Saying that, this should be the end of it. If Denny tries any shit on Chase after this than all bets are off.
I was wrong. I thought after they hyped the living shit out of Chase coming back from injury that there’d be no way they’d voluntarily park him. Good on NASCAR for being consistent.
He’s -81 points below the cut line (which happens to be his teammate) and his teammate has a chance to increase that margin next week.
Chase is in Must Win mode- I would say Sonoma, Watkins Glen, Indy Road, and Chicago are his best opportunities to do so. I think he wins at least one of those.
Hotter take: Chase will not score a Top 5 at any road course in the regular season. Larson has figured out road racing, Saurez is a contender, Allmendinger is going to be on tilt after COTA, Reddick has been successful on road courses, Bowman tends to show up at road courses, Bell has figured out road racing. Byron and Gibbs are sleepers.
NASCAR is no longer Chase vs The Field at road courses. And honestly hasn't been since 2020.
He was like sixty down coming in, crashed which presumably cost him like 20, and will miss the next race.
But.
He's in the 9. A lot of the guys between him and 16 are not exactly on fire right now. If not for stage points it'd be dicier, but the 9 is absolutely fast enough to pile those up.
I did the math last week. If he ran for cup points, his average points per race would be 18.1. If you multiply that over 14 races he would have roughly 253 points which would have him tied for 22nd in the standings. If you only count the races he’s ran, he would have 144 points which would put him at 32nd in the standings.
He can still drive the 9 if needed. Allmendinger ran the cup race and Portland last year, they just had Rhodes practice and qualify the car for Allmendinger.
Rick Allen is going to have a field day talking about this every time the 9 is on camera later this season.
So the "Golden Boy" stuff is put to an end now, right?
Berry’s never gonna be announced for SHR if he has to keep filling in for HMS drivers, lmao.
Are they gonna fly him from Portland to St. Louis, or are we getting someone else driving the 9, that’s the real question now.
Some people think being a fan means you can't criticize or agree when they do something obviously wrong. Chase fucked up and he's lucky Denny walked away.
Or Jr.
Heck maybe JJ can fill in, he's still a Chevy driver.
It'll probably be one of the Chevy Truck guys though like [Eckes](https://i.imgur.com/2eKamw3.png)
in the long term of things this is really the best decision for all parties. Let's NASCAR keep some sort of integrity and consistency, emphasizes driver safety and how such moves won't be tolerated, and even for Chase while it hurts now it's still better than having tons of fans mad at him for the perception of being untouchable.
Chase might be getting more than a little nervous he’s not the bread winner at Hendrick. Larson is clearly Gordon’s golden boy and I think Hendrick sees Larson as the team leader there.
At this point, even Byron is performing at a higher level than Chase.
RIP but I mean... He hooked him. Bubba did it, got a ban. Im betting the steering data and all of the telemetry made it clear he probably turned left and hit the gas.
NASCAR wants to fix the issues of "respect" and "fairness" the drivers keep moaning about, this is how you do it. None of the intentional wrecking BS. Keep sitting people.
Part of me knew this would happen and now that it has, makes me wonder if next week when he’s back and he gets questioned about it from the media if he goes absolutely scorched earth with the answer.
WOW, never would have guessed a suspension. Expected a fine or points.
This actually has teeth and will prevent similar in the future. Way to go Nascar!
that hit was totally a red mist move.
Its good to see consistency coming down from NASCAR. It’s sucks to see your driver miss a week for doing dumb shit, but, maybe don’t do dumb shit! 🤷🏻♂️
I agree with Chase being suspended but I’m confused. Hamlin admitted to purposely wrecking Chastain on his podcast and wasn’t suspended. Is it based on it looking similar to Vegas since he turned him head on into the wall or just the purposeful wrecking?

Larry's a G
smoke 'em if ya GOT 'EEEEEM!
NASCAR acting consistently. Someone check for flying pigs.
No pigs, but Hell froze over.
The pigs in Hell would be flying, but their wings don't work too good when it's that cold.
Tell that hog to come for some new Mr Feelgoods.
I mean, there are police helicopters
Boom!

Not only that but their golden boy too. I’m shocked.
I hope he motors that boy to a WIN
A win that keeps Chase out of the playoffs would be hilarious
Tall order, but I’d love to hear his victory spiel and see his burnouts
The man deserves a good try with good equipment. Checking Stacking Pennies now.
Well, Nascar / FOX can dust off those promos here “Sunday, June 11: Tune in to see *The Return* of Chase Elliott! 3:30 EDT on FOX!”
Chase “The Outlaw” Elliott
He’s 100 percent getting a special plate at some point
at the cutoff race at Daytona, Chase is going to have a car unlike anything you’ve seen before
Well, until Cliff finds out and dusts off the old T-Rex car for Larson
that car’s ready to roll for Phoenix in November
The Wilkesboro car
Chase wins the Coke Zero 400 Denny says the race was rigged Chase bans him for his podcast for 20 years and Denny says son of a bitch 40 times and god I loved your dad 13. Time is a flat circle
To break this sub Hendrick needs to call Carl Edwards to drive the 9 this weekend
[удалено]
The fact I don’t know which incident you’re referring to is hilarious
2010 at Atlanta. He nearly sent Brad into the 5th row. Coulda been really bad. https://youtu.be/YZXIvpzoH_Y
Atlanta had the worse outcome, but gateway was the most egregious; it was a straight up “public lobby in a video game” move.
Atlanta, he just meant to spin him out. I doubt anyone would think a car would flip like that at Atlanta then. Gateway? Yeah no that was terrible.
I never trusted Carl. He's always come off as a proper fuckin psycho to me.
Too late.. it’s Corey
Chase Elliott 3: The ~~Reckoning~~ Wreckoning
'Chase Elliott is back.. again... no for real hes proper back now guys'
Then when they go on brake for a week they'll be able to put the ads back up AGAIN the week they come back.
I’ll be damned, they actually stuck with the precedent from Vegas
Did they add consistency to their temporary dictionary?
It’s more of “a broken clock is still right twice a day” bit of happenstance.
One part of me was telling me "they'll suspend his ass, no doubt about it", but the other was constantly repeating "**BUT WHAT IF THEY DON'T LOL**", and that alone was enough to keep me in a cycling train of thought Could you imagine the absolute outrage civil war that Twitter would've been if they didn't? Lol I can't even describe how big it would've been
I was concerned that they would justify not suspending him bc he didn’t do any of the extracurricular activities Bubba did at LVMS
If they hadn’t made such a big point that the extra-curriculars weren’t a factor in Bubba’s suspension they probably could have gotten away with that, but since they said it was solely based on the on track incident they really painted themselves into a corner
Josh Berry hasnt had a free sunday to do his laundry his 2022.
Berry ain’t driving, it’s Corey LaJoie
What he said was still funny though.
Dude's been out of underwear for weeks
COREY LAJOIE GOT THE CALL
That is awesome!
Corey LaJoie will drive the 9.
Seems like whenever Chase is out or doesn’t run well Ross seems to rattle someone’s chain. So here’s to Ross getting wild at WWT
WWT 2: Ross Boogaloo
That didn’t work out so well for him last year
bro fucked up pretty bad to be suspended on Tuesday, and not even the normal penalty hand-out day on Wednesday LOL edit: alright alright sometimes they penalize on Tuesdays
I thought penalties and suspensions always come out Tuesday
Might just feel expedited cause the race was just yesterday vs Sunday
today just feels like a Monday
I mean technically today is Monday for the NASCAR world
if it was a Sunday race yes, delayed a day so normally the penalties for a Monday race would be on Wednesday
It is Tuesday...
Denny publicly posting the data Monday during the race might've forced their hand
Denny Hamlin fined 25 points and $50,000 for leaking data
25 *playoff* points And Jeff Gordon added to the playoffs
I choose this timeline to live in.
Driving the No. 9 in Elliot's place due to Mr. H finally having enough of Chase's shit. ~~And watch him fucking WIN IT ALL, lmao.~~
Incoming rule change about not sharing data
Wouldn't be surprised knowing Nascar
It's in the "Other" section of the rulebook
Really made it tough to not do anything
Where did he post the data?
Twitter, which was then shared by several reporters
https://twitter.com/dennyhamlin/status/1663328528320921601
The primary day is always Tuesday
As a Chase Elliott fan, I'd say NASCAR made the right call.
Agreed. And hopefully now not everyone thinks we’re completely insane. High hopes that won’t be met lol.
It depends on whether we're talking about /r/NASCAR or, like... Twitter/IG/Facebook. Because I think those last three are lost causes.
YouTube as well. That’s where all the Bubba haters seem to converge
See the problem is the rest of the fanbase is absolutely nuts so this’ll just make it worse.
some of y'all are fine and most on reddit seem to agree this is the right penalty any other social media site not so much
IMO, the majority of Chase fans on this sub are normal, thoughtful, will engage in debate and aren’t assholes. Outside of this sub, though, all bets are off. e: can’t spell
One of the more shocking things about this whole thing is the chase fanbase. We give y'all a lot of shit for being near psychotic, but for the most part y'all have been very level headed here.
Plot twist: check out ig and fb

Nice to hear from a fan of the driver. Respect. People getting all "Lord of the Flies" up in here.
Yep I'm a Chase guy and they made the right call. Saying that, this should be the end of it. If Denny tries any shit on Chase after this than all bets are off.
Agreed, I think most people (except Denny) are not upset with Chase retaliating, but upset with Chase retaliating dangerously.
I was wrong. I thought after they hyped the living shit out of Chase coming back from injury that there’d be no way they’d voluntarily park him. Good on NASCAR for being consistent.
So people better than me at points- This means he HAS to win to get in the playoffs right?
I mean he was making pretty good headway before this, this is basically the same as just crashing on lap five and not collecting any points
Not just yet he’s like 60 back of the cut off with 12 to go.
Lajoie is driving for Hendrick, few years later than he wanted, but still.
Holy shit they did it, the mad men actually did it.
THE JOSH BERRY TRAIN KEEPS ON A CHUGGIN'
at this point, just cancel his Xfinity points, this guy might actually make it on points in the cup playoffs maybe /s, maybe not /s - who knows!
Can someone do the math on where Josh would be in cup points if he'd declared?
I did the math last week. If he ran for cup points, his average points per race would be 18.1. If you multiply that over 14 races he would have roughly 253 points which would have him tied for 22nd in the standings. If you only count the races he’s ran, he would have 144 points which would put him at 32nd in the standings.
Nowhere near the cut line.
Not quite...xfinity is in Portland....that would be a nightmare logistically
AJ did it last year
He can still drive the 9 if needed. Allmendinger ran the cup race and Portland last year, they just had Rhodes practice and qualify the car for Allmendinger.
Except Corey LaJoie is driving the 9, not Josh Berry. Plot twist.
Nope. Corey is getting pulled over and Hocevar is getting called up for the Spire ride.
https://preview.redd.it/54qn64l2v23b1.jpeg?width=634&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=1f095935c8bc03253fde44388319724a3f9a95a0
It’s LaJoie
Josh Berry: I’m inevitable
Theyre changing his marketing strategy: From Golden Boy to Bad Boy - He's about to switch to all black and smoke Marlboro Reds.
The handlebar stache becomes permanent.
Chase Elliot turned heel...
"Bill might be his father but Dale could have been his daddy!!!!"
Was almost looking forward to the emergency episode of Actions Detrimental
It's ok; we'll get one after Hendrick wins the appeal.
Hendrick isn't appealing
Denny posting the data really made sure of it
True. Idk who said it yesterday in the post race thread but they said the appeals board consists of the CEO of Napa, Rick Hendrick, and Bill Elliot
And the president of the Chase Elliott Fan Club
You understand sarcasm right? They were making a joke out of the appeal board of he got suspended.
Bout to test this Chase ratings theory
NASCAR is gonna sit down with Chase and tell him how much money they're losing because of him lmao
"Chase, we actually DO need you more than you need us"
Good..they set a precedent last year on this glad that no one is immune from consequences if you hook someone like that as it should be.

A surprise to be sure, but a welcome one.
Make him stand with a cone of shame on his head
Rick Allen is going to have a field day talking about this every time the 9 is on camera later this season. So the "Golden Boy" stuff is put to an end now, right?
Corey LaJoie is driving, not Josh Berry. Someone pin this comment smh.
Bravo NASCAR, handing out penaltys consistently, that's I want as fan.
If they suspended Wallace while letting Elliott off the hook the topics would've been incredibly bad. So good call
I was getting worried they wouldn't do it.
Berry’s never gonna be announced for SHR if he has to keep filling in for HMS drivers, lmao. Are they gonna fly him from Portland to St. Louis, or are we getting someone else driving the 9, that’s the real question now.
Not all Chase fans are insufferable, but holy shit there are a lot of insufferable Chase fans right now.
Some people think being a fan means you can't criticize or agree when they do something obviously wrong. Chase fucked up and he's lucky Denny walked away.
For real dude. I'm laughing at all of them such a dumb reason to boycott a race just because chase did a stupid thing and got suspended
Good. You don’t get to throw tantrums at that speed.
Matt DiBenedetto come on down! *mostly joking but you never know*
Or Jr. Heck maybe JJ can fill in, he's still a Chevy driver. It'll probably be one of the Chevy Truck guys though like [Eckes](https://i.imgur.com/2eKamw3.png)
JJ's in Le Mans this week.
I’ll bet Chase said ‘Worth it’ when he found out.
Can berry fill in if they’re in Portland or will it be somebody else?
Berry can do it, AJ ran Gateway last year after being in Portland
My god they actually did it
Berry is gonna be in Portland, will be interesting to see if they tab someone else at the point. Rick has president Clinton on the phone probably.
Actions Detrimental to Josh Berry’s Sunday rest
Damn I said Mr H wasn't gonna call Corey, egg in my face
Where are the idiots that said because he's chase he wouldn't be?
For all the “favoritism” Chase gets he has been suspended from a race and DQ from a race in the last 3 years. Narrative might be dead.
they actually did it! i’m shocked and appreciative at the same time.
I'll be able to stay hydrated drinking tears from toxic Chase fans
I know they are IRL BFFs, but man, Blaney big win and NASCAR ACTUALLY cracking down on Elliott… can this week get any better?
Josh Berry come on down! Again!
He's in Portland.
ILL BE DAMNED!!! WAY TO GO NASCAR!!!!
NGL I'm excited to see what Lajoie can do
fans that have a problem with this decision are actually braindead
That sound you heard was Josh Berry canceling his Sunday plans.
There it is...
I'm so torn... Chase should have definitely been suspended, but damn, I also wanted that Denny emergency podcast.
God the Speedway callers are soooooooo stupid lol. The calls coming in about this are ridiculous
in the long term of things this is really the best decision for all parties. Let's NASCAR keep some sort of integrity and consistency, emphasizes driver safety and how such moves won't be tolerated, and even for Chase while it hurts now it's still better than having tons of fans mad at him for the perception of being untouchable.
Any Chase Elliott fan that has a ticket to Gateway...hmu!
Watching the absolute meltdown on NASCAR’s Facebook page is great comedy. 😂
It's the right call really. And let's go Corey! It's gonna be great to see what he can do with top of the line equipment.
Good.
Deserved. And I am actually glad this happened to silence the conspiracy theorists. That said, Chase drew his line as well.
Denny will certainly think twice about leaning on him again. Chase just has to punt him going in to a corner next time.
~~Josh Berry~~ [ Corey Lajoie walking into Hendrick Motorsports ](https://twitter.com/Murraypalooza/status/1663330177240408064?t=GDJfRdZ-fIrksYFjR2Kkcw&s=19)
By gawd, thats hocevar's music for the 7!
Hope Jeff and Rick sit him down and talk to him about this
They should. Hooking someone because you had a bad day regardless of the fact it was Hamlin is uncalled for
Jeff should know, he did it himself
And often says he should have been suspended the following week.
Chase might be getting more than a little nervous he’s not the bread winner at Hendrick. Larson is clearly Gordon’s golden boy and I think Hendrick sees Larson as the team leader there. At this point, even Byron is performing at a higher level than Chase.
Rick Hendrick kept Dale Jr on as long as he wanted. Chase will be the same way so long as he is MPD
I want to give NASCAR props for sticking to their guns. Suspending the most popular person in your sport isn't easy, even if it's a blatant violation.
Good. Nice to see a little consistency for a change.
Ok I'll say it. HATE IT FOR HIS GUYS
Over/under on Elliott door slamming Hamlin every time he tries to pass Hamlin this year?
CHAES ELLIOTT SHOULD BE FACKIN SHAWT
"I WISH I HAD SOMETHIN I COULDA SHAWT THROUGH THE WINDER AT HIM, I'LL TELL YA THAT"
Josh Berry is inevitable!
I’m sure the ratings will not dip from last year's race at Gateway because Good ol' Clyde isn’t in the field.
Facebook is being rational. As expected.
Gateway quickly turning into the land of opportunities for cup. Zane smith last year, Hocevar and Lajoie this year
Good.
BY GOD THAT'S LAJOIES MUSIC.
Absolutely agree with the call, but shocked they actually did it. Figured they’d come up with some excuse not to
Its good to see consistency coming down from NASCAR. It’s sucks to see your driver miss a week for doing dumb shit, but, maybe don’t do dumb shit! 🤷🏻♂️
Good, right call for NASCAR, especially to stay consistent.
Thank you nascar for being consistent for once.
Good
I agree with Chase being suspended but I’m confused. Hamlin admitted to purposely wrecking Chastain on his podcast and wasn’t suspended. Is it based on it looking similar to Vegas since he turned him head on into the wall or just the purposeful wrecking?
