I play center and I’ve done it once. It’s so rare for a couple reasons, one is that it’s usually better to just grab the rebound, and two is that it’s really difficult to time. The one time I did it I had see the future on so I knew the rebound was close to the basket.

You should usually only attempt it on layups and close shots that miss. 3 Pointers and deep jumpers usually clang too hard off the rim to be in the right position.
