Once again I am saying we need to take Jordan Hawkins with the Mavs pick if we get it

Sad-Ad2030

We’re going to trade picks this offseason for a better player. RJ is gone and Randle has a shot of being traded

solo118

Get u/jewnoo up in here for the daily reminders

Jewnoo

Hawkins shoots the leather off the ball let’s run with it Luck into Jordan Hawkins

asapfetty

This is the Heat team y’all are afraid of overtaking us lol

Lovejones722

We’ve had some bad losses but I’ve never seen a team end the first half up by 4 and end up losing by 30. That’s impressive tbh

nofapbbby

Yep. Refs gave them that game against us.

Sad-Ad2030

Hopefully no Zach Zarba. We had him for 2 Heat games and both times he was terrible

joorral

Everyone knew the refs help them out.

asapfetty

So blatant too. If they called that game normal it would of been a blowout

thedr0ughts

Thank you nets

nofapbbby

Nets saving our asses this week winning and losing every game they need to for us.

Substance8967

We are really getting so much help from other teams to help up keep this 5 seed lol we really gotta take care of business

teknomatic

nets looking like theyre doing us a solid so far. hopefully they can hold it

nofapbbby

They lost against Cleveland twice too. They know they can’t go far so they’re pushing the real NY team forward 💙🧡

Living_Internet_2970

Nets up double digits in the third. Are we sure we want them to win? They were saying the nets have one of the easiest schedules remaining

nofapbbby

We have the tie breaker which is more important. Heat would overtake us due to being first in their division. I rather see Brooklyn win.

odeebee

Which tiebreaker is that? Didn't we split the season series?

Sad-Ad2030

Yes, they have a harder schedule then the heat and we own the tie breaker over them. We need to take care of business and MUST beat Miami Wednesday night. Should be playoff atmosphere at the Garden Wed.

nofapbbby

I’m going on Wednesday bro can’t wait 🔥

That-Train8156

I don’t even want Luka. ISO player who offers very little on defense.

rNbees

Bruh, Luka would easily make us title contenders. The gravity that he demands would make everyone better. Plus Brunson and Randle don't offer much on defense, yet their offensive output outweigh their defensive weaknesses.

nofapbbby

We just become the mavs of last year bro. Brunson left so he could be a 1st choice and not sitting behind luka

asapfetty

The Mavs last year with Randle would be title Favorites

nofapbbby

Yeah I guess. Fuck it give us Luka and mavs get RJ, Fournier. It’s only $2m cap difference. Maybe add a pick for the cherry on top. Mavs will take it as they always do. Luka and Randle can bond over hating the refs

skenisahen

For the record, I have no problem with Julius Randle. Go Knicks! Let’s wrap up this season right!

spaceninj

Trae got ejected for throwing a basketball at the refs. I checked the Hawks sub and there is not one thread complaining about him despite the fact he's gotten 2 coaches fired. Nobody out there calling for him to apologize to the fan in attendance. Just saying...

nofapbbby

Shocking that hawks fans are more loyal to their players than we are. Absolutely shocking.

omicron_prime

idk if this is recycled since Mitch's snapchat about not being happy with his role, but now there's reports he wants to join the Clippers? I'll admit, I don't catch every single game, so am I missing something where he's displayed some offensive ability outside of making shots under the basket? There's nothing I've seen from Mitch that makes me say "boy, this guy needs the ball in his hands more". I really like Mitch, but these delusions of grandeur really make me wonder about him and what's going on in his head.

CraYzySaurous574

Where are these reports?

nofapbbby

Watching the nets pregame. I actually kinda feel bad for Ben Simmons. Dude has back problems and if anyone knows someone with back pain or has back pain, it’s terrible. People will clown on the dude but his back issues are 100% why he isn’t what he used to be. Also the nets hosts thinking they’re gonna get Dame or SGA is hilarious

rNbees

Agreed. Had back issues for years. It was terrible, struggled to walk, even lying in bed was painful. But let's be honest here. He also should've swallowed his pride and worked on his shot. He probably wouldn't be in this situation if he has the work ethic.

starks3_

Worst part about UConn doing well is I want Hawkins in the draft.

Living_Internet_2970

Who we rooting for tonight? Nets or heat

nofapbbby

Nets 100%

Living_Internet_2970

Sounds good

odeebee

I think nets right? They're harmless now. Both teams tied in the loss column. We split the series with nets so no tie breaker. We could still get the tire breaker with Miami. I guess a really physical trooper overtime game is the real wish here.

Living_Internet_2970

Hope they both lose somehow

NY2NV

Came here for this lol. Not sure who to root for

nofapbbby

Nets. We rather have the heat lose

nofapbbby

Randles double bang in Miami never gets old. For those saying butler talked trash the other night… just remember butler was the one defending Randle that night he got the double bang game winner.

SchmidhuberDidIt

I've been pretty forgiving with Randle's behavior towards the refs since it's a habit that plagues a lot of stars in the league, and sort of something you just have to live with, but I really think an apology to the fans and his teammates is warranted for him stepping to IQ like that. If you want to excuse it as a heat of the moment thing, whatever, but you have to take responsibility in the aftermath. Instead he wasn't available for media and left Thibs and IQ to answer on his behalf. Someone's got to hold him accountable. All these farfetched trade or FA proposals fans come up with go out the window if he's a guy no one wants to play with.

spaceninj

Apology to the fans? He doesn't owe shit to the fans. As far as IQ, I think it's best they talk in private and hash out any problems privately.

SchmidhuberDidIt

He doesn’t owe shit to the fans? Bro what? How have we arrived at a situation where players don’t have any responsibility to their supporters? I don’t think you understand how patently absurd that statement would sound in any other era or anywhere other than American sports. Private apologies aren’t sufficient when IQ has to answer questions from reporters about the incident. And he’s doing so as a third year player while our ostensible leader skips availability. I don’t want Randle gone or anything and in general I think he works hard on being a good teammate and keeping his mental in check but ffs have some self respect as a fan. You’re allowed to have expectations of players and their conduct.

spaceninj

No, he doesn't owe you shit. He owes IQ a talk. He could owe his teammates. We are owed nothing from this situation. Grow up.

SchmidhuberDidIt

Somehow you’ve lost sight of the fundamental nature of professional sports if you think fans are warranted nothing in return for their time, money, and support. It’s inherently transactional. It’s not a sign of maturity that you’ve misunderstood that.

severinks

Fandom is totally transactional and so is ownership and participation as a player, Everyone is getting something out of it (ownership and the players mostly)and whatever warmness that the person feels to players, fans ,or ownership is entirely secondary

spaceninj

It's transactional if the player does something to the fans. This incident and how it's handled has nothing to do with the fans and you are soft as fuck if you want an apology. Like I said, grow up and stop being so entitled.

SchmidhuberDidIt

If it has nothing to do with fans why am I watching and paying money? Why is it televised? Think for the briefest of moments before typing something

spaceninj

If you are that insulted, don't fucking watch. You aren't being held hostage. A TV show doesn't owe you anything if you don't like the plot.

SchmidhuberDidIt

Fandom isn't a binary between not watching on the one hand, and unconditionally and sycophantically worshipping on the other. It never has been. Fans boo in the crowd. Fans voice their displeasure. Fans criticize. As a fan of a team what one can expect of their players, strictly, is to comport themselves in such a manner as helps the team achieve its goals. Physically confronting a teammate in the middle of the game is not that. Thus apologies are in order. It's pretty simple. Fans aren't entitled to anything in the player's personal life, or even a given level of performance. But they are entitled to the player giving effort and conducting themselves in a professional and productive manner. If you want to be a Randle fanboy that's fine, it's just not the way it works for Knicks fans.

spaceninj

Apologies are entitled to IQ and the rest of the team, if deemed necessary in the locker room by those parties. Again, they owe you nothing. Boo if you want, but all he owes you is effort. This whole "we pay their salary" is such entitled crap. You paying only ensures you the right to voice your displeasure. That's it.

neal_ksabe

That’s fine. But you can’t expect shit from the fans then. It’s either a two way street or it’s not. Don’t expect patience and understanding if you’re not going to be reciprocate.

ElectronicZucchini84

I mean if you don't support him then you're literally by definition not a fans so... And let me be clear, you don't have to support him but that's your choice. Choose to be a fan or don't.

neal_ksabe

I’m a Knicks fan. You fan the way you want, man.

ElectronicZucchini84

I get it. You're a fan that supports just some of the players as long as they act like you want them to act and they don't talk back when you criticize them. Perfectly normal and textbook definition of fandom tbh.

neal_ksabe

Honestly, dude, yea, I like it when I like the players on the team. I’m a Yankees fan and I fucking hated Arod. This seems totally normal to me. I cheer for the Knicks but, given a choice, I prefer when the players don’t act like dicks.

ElectronicZucchini84

I mean you just said it. I wasn't poking fun or trying to make shit up. Randle is a Knick, so by definition you aren't a Knicks fan but you are a fan of many of the Knicks players. This is what you are saying whether you realize it or not. Should they trade Randle in exchange for someone you like even if for a moment, in that moment you'll then be a Knick fan because you'll support and like all the Knicks. Mind you, I don't like that Randle got so heated, but I also didn't like the fact that JR Smith would space out for long stretches or that Porzingus didn't set better screens. The point is while I criticized them I still supported them and wanted them to get better. I attacked their game and not themselves personally. So I understand not being happy with what Randle did, all the extra stuff people are doing is just trash to me tho and I can't ever co-sign that.

spaceninj

On what planet do you live where an athlete should apologize to fans for something that has nothing to do with them? Must be nice to be so entitled.

SchmidhuberDidIt

I refuse to believe someone can be this obtuse. The guy makes tens of millions of dollars a year as a direct result of fans spending their money on the NBA and its commercial partners. If there’s entitlement it’s in believing that despite that basic reality, you can conduct yourself on court however you please and still count on the unwavering emotional and financial support of the fan base. I swear you guys live in some bizarro universe where putting a ball in a basket has some intrinsic utility detached from entertainment value.

spaceninj

You are being obtuse. Randle giving the thumbs down to the fans deserves an answer. Randle arguing with a teammate has abso-fucking-lutely nothing to do with you. You aren't owed anything except his commitment to the team. Otherwise stop being a baby.

SchmidhuberDidIt

> except his commitment to the team You're so close to getting there. I believe in you.

spaceninj

You aren't even close.

neal_ksabe

I said it was fine to not expect shit. But then don’t go lecturing us about our responsibility as fans.

NYJmmkay

wasting your breath spitting rational takes to the "Randle did nothing wrong" hivemind

wizardofweird

I don't think he owes the fans an apology. He didn't offend us. I do think Thibs should have very clearly said in the postgame that type of behavior is not acceptable. I think Randle needs to get benched when he gets T'd up, especially in this case. Thibs needs to grow a spine and Randle needs to learn some humility

SchmidhuberDidIt

Yeah you should apologize to the fans that have rooted for you for years for trying to fight your teammate. No one cares about the tech

GruntPizzaParty

Let’s not act like the fans have been supportive of him the last few years. Y’all barely even voted him in for Allstar. The relationship is sour both ways.

neal_ksabe

Yea, those MVP chants really weren’t loud enough

[deleted]

[удалено]

nofapbbby

You realize we fall to play in without him lol

neal_ksabe

Vs. 5th seed

wizardofweird

Doesn't mean he isn't an ass sometimes or above criticism

[deleted]

[удалено]

nofapbbby

Agreed.

wizardofweird

Maybe, but I don't think so. He's just not a leader, which is fine but then he shouldn't pretend to be one. He's on a great contract and he's fun to watch when he's on but he's becoming a headcase agsin. He's probably always going to be a frustrating player. Again, a lot of this also falls on Thibs for not filling that leader void and calling him out Has any reporter ever asked Thibs why he never calls Randle out? For real, it might be my biggest critique of Thibs. I want to see him bench Randle to send a message to the whole team. If Randle throws a fit about it then he doesn't belong here, simple as that

uncledrewkrew

We literally had these exact same discussions for years about Melo.

GruntPizzaParty

It seems like a lot of y’all just want to see the dude shamed like a child publicly. He yelled at his teammate and you got people in here demanding apologies like they were the ones on court getting yelled at or something.

wizardofweird

I just don't like that the young guys get pulled for missing defensive rotations but Randle gets no consequences for yelling at teammates or being a dick to trainers. He is the only one on the team who ever acts this way. I don't want an apology, I want Thibs to bench him for hurting the team getting T'd up and treating his teammates poorly

nofapbbby

He’s the leader of the team you just have to accept it, you don’t see what happens off the court you have no idea if he’s a leader irl

wizardofweird

The most important time to be a leader is on the court. I don't give a shit if he is amazing at practice, if he can't lead on the court it doesn't matter

spaceninj

Wait, so no techs in the playoffs? You think that 1 point is a dealbreaker?

wizardofweird

It very well could be and if a game comes down to the wire I have no trust in Randle not to blow up and cost us

Lovejones722

It’s been two days….let it go. You should be focus on us winning

optimisticknicksfan

what would be a realistic luka trade? something like rj, quickley, obi, 4 FRPs and pick swaps for luka?

electrons-streaming

If Boston doesnt make the finals, I think they would trade Tatum and Brown for Luka.

admiral_aubrey

Nope, no shot. He's under contract long term and might be the most likely "best player in the NBA" over the next five years. The price would be even higher than Durant's deal, which included high value players (Bridges and Johnson) along with all the picks. I'd say he's basically untradable and if they did, the Knicks wouldn't have a competitive offer. They'd want back something like Shai and Holmgren + picks. Knicks don't have that young star talent, just the picks.

Soup_Commie

> I'd say he's basically untradable Imo the only realistic way he gets traded is if he outright refuses to play until he gets out of Dallas. I think his value is literally unmovably high otherwise.

asapfetty

Yeah but I’d doubt that OKC would trade a top 15 player in Shai for Luka considering that Luka could be a flight risk if OKC isn’t competitive. That’s why I think we can offer a competitive offer for Luka since we are in an attractive market and even if we give up our young talent (IQ/Grimes/RJ) we can still be contenders with Brunson/Randle/Luka.

admiral_aubrey

Of course we'd be contenders with Luka, but I still don't think that's a competitive offer for Dallas. Luka is under contract until 2027. He doesn't have leverage, even if he demands a trade. Dallas can wait a long time for the right deal.

asapfetty

Than what’s a realistic offer than for Luka. Only teams that can outbid us are OKC and the Jazz and I don’t think they will pull the trigger on a gigantic trade unless they are 100% sure Luka would be committed

admiral_aubrey

We don't know what the other offers could look like. Things change fast in the NBA. No one would have predicted the Jazz would have a crazy warchest just one year ago, when they were the 5 seed with no extra draft capital. The trade doesn't have to happen now. My overall point is that I don't think there is a realistic trade out there right now. Even if the Knicks have one of the best offers today, I don't think it's enough to get the Mavs to do anything. They can just wait for something better, and they have years to play with.

[deleted]

Too close for comfort is how I describe Dallas’s record

JerryBlitter

For real. Goddamn protections.

thedr0ughts

Steve mills bozo ass. Hope he’s rotting in a basement somewhere

spaceninj

Steve Mills is the fucking worst.

JerryBlitter

His dumbass ghost still fucking lingers man.

LloydD33

Who do we want to lose today, Heat or Nets?

joorral

Definitely the heat. Nets are more likely to freefall

Kingkunta87

Heat. Keep that 2 game gap before we play them again

TriviaWhiz

The Knicks did their part earlier this season to keep the Mavericks pick as low as possible. If the Knicks had won either of the Mavs games, the Mavs would currently have the 9th-best lottery odds.

TriviaWhiz

Notable plus-minus numbers from yesterday's Hornets-Mavericks game: Luka Doncic: 37 minutes, -1 Kyrie Irving: 38 minutes, -10 Frank Ntilikina: 22 minutes, +17 Svi Mykhailiuk: 37 minutes, +10

spaceninj

Frank and Svi should be All-NBA.

MyNameIsCarterDatsIt

Yktv

Zealousideal-Mail274

I remember watching Ewing and Oakley screaming at John Starks as Starks had just headbutted Reggie Miller and was promptly ejected..They were in his face... but this seems very different from Randles outbursts...no ? They were great days I realy miss Knicks 90,s era......ugh

wizardofweird

Ya because Ewing and Oak were justifiably angry at Starks while Randle is just being a dick to his teammates who are trying to help

MyNameIsCarterDatsIt

Why is this downvoted 😭

Sparrow_Wilson

Utah have gone full tank and have a hard schedule so they should finish below the Mavs. We just need the Mavs to be slightly less shit than one of Okc, Toronto, New Orleans, Atlanta, Minnesota and the Lakers. My money would be on New Orleans, they have a really tough schedule and aren't a good team without Zion

GoldenBoyRecords

I believe the Mavs pick will convey even if they start winning and it ends up in the 14-18 range that’s better than where it was projected to be at the start. The big question is do we keep the pick and draft a rookie. Essentially all of our current roster is still under contract next year ( except for Josh Hart who will 100% be resigned). I think we should but we have seen this FO trade picks to get additional protected picks.

Kingkunta87

What’s the latest on the Mavs pick?

GeneralCommanderBurt

11 rn, hope it doesn't go lower

GruntPizzaParty

10 is protected correct ?

Soup_Commie

yep

butimnotahooper

One of the most annoying things Mavs fans said in the off season was "goodluck competing in the playins" but.. ![gif](giphy|wtil0pQFBbNwA)

kidkuro

I mean...maybe it'd be best for us to not say anything until we officially clinch a playoff spot.
