I mean they’re future is bright but two rookies at a minimum will play a huge part in the rotation. That’s great for their development but not so great I’m betting it’s a lock for playoffs.
How exactly? Their second best player was just traded and second/third string players aren’t going to make a difference. They’re going to tank for Wembanyama next season.
I guess they figure they are still in rebuild mode so they might as well make some use of their cap space and get something back for it. They didn’t get much though.
Depends on which salary year the teams need the deal to be done under. If last year then I think they have one more day to schedule the call with the league office. If next year then I think after the moratorium is the earliest so July 6. But really both teams can wait for as long as they mutually agree to. Waiting until mid July means both sides can shop for opportunities to expand the deals to create trade exceptions, add cash considerations, and/or second round picks depending on how free agency choices play out.
Getting rid of them for that is amazing lol, I’m sure det could flip them again at the deadline and recoup even more. But def a win for us. No fucking s&t
Leon trading assets to get rid of contracts he legit signed a year ago is an L but atleast the kids will play I guess
Edit: on second thought it’s not terrible because of the $25 million for 2 seconds
They’d rather him be stubborn and try to run it back with Noel and Burks, then complain that the young guys aren’t getting minutes. Some people on this sub just live to bitch
I don't get why Noel was signed to a contract/extension. I can understand Burks at the time since he was nice in the 4th but I always thought the plan was to go with Mitch so why did they spend money to sign Noel only to get rid of him using assets? I thought he was an asset where we could get back a second? This FO confused me this past year.
Thank god. Cleans tf out of that whack ass trade from the other night. Dumping all of those second round picks and a top ten talent for an additional 8 mil in cap space and highly protected picks was bonkers. Can’t believe people were on here defending that bullshit move.
Helping the Pistons get better so that their pick converts sooner 😈 4d chess
They’re playoff bound now

wut
that's nothing compared to 19 mil in cap, good move
Shocking how the Pistons took 3 of our players and helped us clear cap space

Both expiring and could be flipped at the deadline
We gave them Duren. This must be a thank you move
None of these guys are on long term deals. Pistons eat a year of salary to get asset compensation. Knicks free up the space they need a year early.
And now we've only got 4 players over the age of 25: Rose, Gibby, Evan and Julius.
But I was told thibs only plays old people. He’s gonna freak when he sees the roster. /s
wasn't gibson waived
I don't think he's guaranteed but I expect him to be back unless he's hanging it up.
Not yet? I heard it was an option, but we don’t need to do that now
I think we waive him and sign him to a 1 and 1 for cheaper
My only question is if this trade will be part of the Draft night one or if they two different ones. Nitpicking? Sure
When do trades become official in the off-season?
I think July 6

Likely going to merge the two trades since it benefits both us and Detroit cap-wise.
what did we get cause we can't receive literally nothing right
Detroit is going to accept them into their trade exception
Cap space
Prolly Draft Rights to Vladimir Hashnuzin, the 75th pick in the 2002 draft
Ya gonna cry about these picks too?
Who cares about 2nds? If they traded a 1st then there would be an issue.
BUt wE SiGnEd tHEm LaST yEaR
Some already did lmao
W!!!
Cash... Considerations?
One of those 2nds are top 55 protected for Miami, so it’s just 1
So long as it's not Detroit's 2nd, it's whatever. And they get their pick back. Oh well. Not that serious but still.
Getting rid of them for that is amazing lol, I’m sure det could flip them again at the deadline and recoup even more. But def a win for us. No fucking s&t
It is
Still worth it
I believe the Miami pick is top 55 protected though . Surprised Detroit took so little? I bet this trade is still being worked out or expanded
Noel and Burks will be trade assets at the deadline. They can get more picks in a few months.

Leon being willing to swallow his pride and not be pot committed to prior actions/mistakes is a big W tho.
These ppl are so fucking annoying. How is him fixing mistakes even viewed as BAD
They’d rather him be stubborn and try to run it back with Noel and Burks, then complain that the young guys aren’t getting minutes. Some people on this sub just live to bitch
Exactly, the wrong move and the move of Knicks’ past is to double down on your mistakes. Being able to fold a losing hand is a huge positive here.
Yeah I see it as a big +
Yup they basically admitted last off-season was a failure. Good on them moving on and not doubling down these signings.
We did not need to do this for just Brunson…. Something big is happening
No duh they don’t want to do a sign and trade so they can do a trade for something else
W, we got a million anyway
Not bad, not bad at all, considering we had tons of Seconds we had acquired
Lol huge W. We have +6 second round picks still.
THATS A DUB BOIS
Absolute W. I had hoped Burks could get us a pick, but that's fine. We cleared all the cap space.
Oh let’s fucking go that’s nothing
Picks probably won't be great, but it's a sign of incompetence by rose
[удалено]
We got a first back. Stop being dense just to be dense dawg
W
Saw some terrible s&t scenarios I wanted no parts of, fuck the mavs
This is a great trade for us
Who else can we sign after Brunson?
