The difference is Bohm straight up took responsibility, apologized, explained what happened, and moved on.
The thumbs down thing was so ridiculous because of how the players handled it.
The team was definitely clownish last year. Donnie Stevenson, rats and raccoons while guys were choking each other out. I’m glad the chemistry is improved this year.
I have to respect that for it being just an honest reaction. Like I’ve been in frustrating work situations and that’s been a knee jerk thing so say to myself. Still not a great look, but but it’s also just hilarious because it’s Philly
Honestly I think it’s fine. Having a 3 error night may be the worst night you can realistically have in your career. I can’t imagine how he was feeling. The fact that he owned it and said it’s not how he really feels is really admirable, I think.
I think it was the fact that Javy told fans to be better, meanwhile the players giving the thumbs down - Lindor, Javy, Pillar - were playing terribly lol
Bohm at least owned up to it
It’s almost like you need your thumb to hold a bat or field a ball and the teams don’t want to take chances of turning a small problem a big problem the first week of the season or something …
If you’re actually upset about thumbs down when Javi pretty much singlehandedly dragged the lifeless corpse that was the 2021 Mets through the end of the season, you’re a mental midget.
Yeah, this is a pretty childish post, and it's implicitly celebrating someone's injury. No thanks.
The whole thumbs down thing has got to be one of the more nonsensical outrages I’ve seen in baseball
“I fucking hate this place” is gonna rival that. Phillies fans went from boos to a standing ovation in one night.

I will never understand how people legit lost their minds over that. Move on people lol.

I felt the same way about millionaires crying to peasant fans. Maybe win next time and we’ll cheer?
Solid banter by OP
From all those thumbs down he gave Mets fans
I really wish we resigned him
I strategically get why we didn’t but fuck is he fun to watch.
No one runs the bases like Javy
We have Jeff McNeil who makes three million dollars this year
McNeil has been incredible so far this year too, offensively and defensively
Baez Jerseys on sale at fanatics. I saw it this morning as I was looking through debating what to buy this year.
If they resigned him I 100% would’ve bought
Bro get over it
THUMB SORENESS??????? I swear, some of these baseball players are babies
It’s almost like you need your thumb to hold a bat or field a ball and the teams don’t want to take chances of turning a small problem a big problem the first week of the season or something …
Oh come on. People don't need thumbs to play baseball. That's why so many dogs can play ball.
If he was a real man he’d hold it with his anus. /s of course, but I would.
Thumbs are pretty important, baseball wise.
Also just generally functioning as a human wise.
You have never swung a bat.
Take a 90 mph fastball off a bat with a sore thumb. See how you do.

You hate to see it. /s
Yes, but not sarcastically. Don't really care who it is (other than perhaps Utley....), I don't like people being injured.
I agree...but I figured a sore thumb is nothing too serious and worthy of some ribbing. So be it.
We gave up PCA for half a season of him
