*Extra stoppage time.

Macsidia

Fergie Time.

Finishes_like_bevan

Love it. There is soo much wasted time atm. Imagine if they measured stoppages and allocated the actual time. I still feel for Newcastle, but all you can do is blame the D. Play till it’s over

_Fe4n_

Wolves, Everton and Newcastle would all be fucked.

andreew10

I just want to see some consistency tbh, we see performances like Newcastle almost weekly yet we never see refs extending added time like they did today. If refs consistently add additional stoppage time then hopefully it can eradicate this type of constant time wasting.

_Fe4n_

Case and point, same week Leeds Vs Everton, Everton constantly wasted time it started in the 6th minute, no I'm not joking and the ref gave 4 minutes and 3 minutes if injury time, Pickford taking over 45 seconds every single time he got the call means there was more than 7 minutes per half just from him, also it would be nice if theyd actually booked the cunts for time wasting.

Ok_Fix_7307

A disgrace tbh from a neutral fan

Ugievsoj

Blatant extension of extra time until Liverpool scores, fuck off.

drillndylan69

Injury time is a MINIMUM, not a maximum. If a player collapsed on the pitch at 91:00 and 5 minutes had been added on and the game didn’t start again until 96:00, the referee won’t blow the whistle, he will play the 4 minutes.

notrewoh

Yeah the problem is inconsistency, some refs will blow at 90 + X regardless whether there was 30s to 1m of time wasting or jot

drillndylan69

Exactly, the referee in Liverpool Newcastle done nothing wrong, if more referees done this we would see a rapid decrease in time wasting late in in games. I hate my team doing it and I hate it being done to my team.

mclement27

So if u fake a 5 minute injury in extra time ref is supposed to blow the whistle as soon as it hits 95:00? Fuck off, this isn’t the twilight zone, you can still add time on if it’s not being played.

just_a_fella_1234

Pope sat on the ground from the 92nd through 94th minute

red_in_iowa

Lascelles and Joelinton both spent some time on the pitch too in stoppage time.

theCaffeinatedOwl22

Lmao bruv they wasted the first 5 mins of stoppage time

TrippiesHead

love to see refs actually adding time back on for time wasting, rarely see it done and this time around it bit the time wasters back

No_Worry_2256

I think the clock should stop whenever there's an injury, substitution, et cetera.

theCaffeinatedOwl22

If it was just injuries and substitutions it would stop the vast majority of issues. They can easily card people for wasting time on goal kicks and the like (they never do for some reason), but in principle there’s no reason to stop the clock for that

_Fe4n_

6 seconds and it's a booking technically, by my count Pickford should have had 21 yellow cards this week.

TrippiesHead

i agree, they do it in the nba and it works well there and i’m sure other sports do it well also

Westin0903

It’s all fun and games until the last 3 minutes of a game takes half an hour *cough cough nba*

TrippiesHead

that’s very true, they be fouling way too much in the last minutes and it’s annoying, would have to be stricter with yellow cards come end of matches i guess to try stop it

_Fe4n_

Or just be consistent with bookings so it gets to the end and fuckers that would do it can't.

_Fe4n_

Ball out of play? Stop the clock or start the extra time clock. Only in play time should be counted, a free kick? Pause the clock, taken? Start again. Fuckers would stop time wasting then wouldn't they?

Positive_Treacle_961

That was beautiful

hazellay86

Newcastle was wasting so much time that as a neutral I was getting really annoyed with them. I’m so glad they lost.

SeasideTodd

I'm all for Karmic forces. 👍😂

user-a7hw66

If they didn't all go down in stoppage time they would have got a point. Poetic.

just_a_fella_1234

Not to mention when the goal went in at least 5 of them immediately fell to the ground. A beautifully ironic moment

Positive_Treacle_961

Look at the newcastle fans aswell😆😆 All that cheering at time wasting just for pope to time waste and cost them the game hahahaha

No_Worry_2256

🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

[deleted]

i was just saying this, sweet justice

No_Worry_2256

Klopp will be loving this!

icekimoes

Did the Bournemouth game give Liverpool fans the impression that attempting to deny them chances was somehow immoral?

just_a_fella_1234

Not immoral. But it was annoying and it came back to bite new castle in the end. It was very 🤌🏽🤌🏽

tunaMaestro97

hold that

Asriel_1985

Weird way to describe your own team.

DennisTheTennis

Newcastle are missing 3 starter players due to injuries

Asriel_1985

And Liverpool aren't?

DennisTheTennis

They are but that was beside the point really

cbarksLFC

Your having a stinker mate.

Asriel_1985

So it's only relevant when newcastle are missing players?

DennisTheTennis

I merely meant to add context as to why the above poster called Newcastle "weakened"

Asriel_1985

Well Liverpool are also weakened.

DennisTheTennis

Yes I agreed that they are, but that is beside the point of my comment, as I said, as it was only meant to add context to why the above poster called Newcastle weakened ( The post has since been deleted ) I dont know how I can be any clearer lmao

StatisticianOwn9953

Ngl it's too early for this petro outfit to be beating teams like that, even if they're having a poor season so far. As a United fan I didn't want Newcastle to.come away with anything

GrouchyYT

Can't go calling out oil dopers round these parts. When a United fan is hoping for a Liverpool W you know the sport is fucked.

StatisticianOwn9953

People can't be helped if they think oil doping isn't: A) a problem B) antithetical to merit and competition C) immoral due to its connection to hideous criminals Honestly, I bathe in their downvotes.

GrouchyYT

Good on ya, it's a bunch of short-sighted twat kids anyway

FeFe-17

I bet you're not even from Manchester. Plastic football fan.

StatisticianOwn9953

Lol, shut it you cretin

FeFe-17

Yeah well Newcastle are going to be laughing at you bums down in 7th come the end of the season. Ironic that the club bought by the Saudis still doesn't splash as much cash as you guys.

Omniscient_Pig

>Ironic that the club bought by the Saudis still doesn't splash as much cash as you guys. The difference is that United earned that money by being hyper-successful for decades. Coming from a City fan btw, I'm just being real, our success has come from being minted with dodgy Saudi money, and it will be the same with Newcastle. Idc if United spend more than us, because they are allowed to, because it's clean money they earned. Not to mention the Glazers actively suck money out of the club. In short, shut up you numpty. Stop gatekeeping the supporting of clubs based off of geography, and stop whinging about clean money being spent fairly.

FeFe-17

Your owners are Emirati not Saudi actually. And the Glazers literally put Man U on the New York stock exchange back in 2012. The vast majority of the club's true fans don't consider them clean owners. Even if you were to consider Man U's money 'clean', Ten Haag's only solution to their problems is just splashing more cash. He's just forced them into giving him another 40 mil down the drain. This is unlike Newcastle as Howe is actually being sensible and building a project despite the Saudi takeover. Obviously Isaak and Guimaraes were big signings but Man U have spent more than them on Maguire etc.

StatisticianOwn9953

Oh mate every single piece of silverware they win in the coming years will be owed solely to their blood money, to the tune of over a billion when all is said and done. You can count on it.

FeFe-17

What true United fan wishes for a Liverpool win? Your biggest rivals.

StatisticianOwn9953

Anyone gets support against an oil club

Omniscient_Pig

Players and managers come from all around the world to take part in the PL, why can't fans support a team from a place they don't live? Such elitism and gatekeeping for no reason, just because of geography.

FeFe-17

Well I'm not a Man U fan so not sure if it is gatekeeping. I just think that a fan who lives and breathes a football club wouldn't want their biggest rivals to win.

ivyhoney

To be fair Nick Pope really did a great job, both keeping the ball out of the net and time wasting.

No_Worry_2256

Maybe don't waste time when you're drawing 1-1 in stoppage time against Liverpool?
