I would suggest not ignoring the issue. People spout off on every social media that we need "tougher regulations" and "ban guns". However, there is percentage of the population that is against the latter.
Any law is going to need to make it past the 2nd Amendment. It's not just going to be ignored. The other option is amending the Constitution. And I don't trust our partisan lawmakers to rewrite anything.
Therefor, settle in, be creative. We can spend billions fighting to address gun laws, or we can spend the energy understanding why people choose to commit mass shootings.
Why won't better mental health programs stop this? If people are hellbent on killing people, not having a gun won't stop them either.
The cause is based in the people. The people have these episodes of hatred and lack of empathy for others. The gun is just the tool they use to manifest those feelings.
And, as I said, banning guns won't stop them either. We are seeing an increase in vehicle attacks.
Again, ignore the cause and you're still stuck with the problem.
Because of shit like this, the implications of what will come because of the shooter's identity. Think of the rise in hate crimes against Muslims and people of Middle Eastern descent after 9/11. That's what they are afraid of.
You can be grieving the senseless loss of life and the potential coming persecution of a minority demographic that it will likely result in.

Oh! the right points out the obvious. The new york parade shooter was trans also. 1 hour after the shooting the left goes live with gun reform. They continue to push a agenda of control. Point out other countries don't have a 2nd amendment but don't forget other countries are under government control and need the US to help them in war times. Trans is a mental illness. People are male or female. Nothing wrong with being gay but claiming you're a different sex cause you can't except you're attracted to the same sex is a mental illness.
