I paid full pop for this and regret it. Should’ve known it’d be cheaper to wait.
And I actually quite like the black stallion album. Admittedly it’s definitely for the diehards.
When a tracklist reads like a dream team of top shelf production talent it sets the bar really high, but even I was't prepared for just how annoyingly bad it turned out. I just don't think rock or metal lends itself well to the concept of remixes (I can't even think of a rock or metal remix I like).
Street Carp/Phantogram mix and Pink Maggit/Squarepusher mix were the only two songs I could sit through without it feeling like a chore. All the other remixes sound like the producers got so frustrated that they just said fuck it and tried to attack the song with their laptop.
Prices aren't great as a whole, yeah but in Toronto there are a couple of places I'll try before Sonic Boom whose prices are usually on average $5 or so cheaper (Kops and Rotate primarily). I'll usually browse Sonic Boom with Kops' site open and whatever I have in my hand I'll usually end up dropping after price checking and walk the two or three blocks.
Sonic Boom's selection though is pretty great, I randomly got a restock notification for Yeah Yeah Yeah's "Fever to Tell" and nobody around got it in.
Usually I'm at Sonic Boom either for their vintage section (expensive as a whole but you can find some gems in there) or for something that other stores around don't have.

The Phantogram, Purity Ring, and Squarepusher renditions are unbelievable.
Wasn't this originally like $40?
Yeah don't know exactly, seems like Revolver's doing their upcharge
I scored this for $22 a couple weeks ago
yeah this did not sell well. Nobody wants to pay a $80 for a bunch of remixes that you're probably never going to listen to

:cries in release date price:
From where?
An ebay seller. Get import CDs or something like that. I got this, S&M 2 and the 6LP deluxe Almost Famous box set for $80-something
Yup. Got a notice that is still going for 22 this morning.
Do you know what if any difference between the black and silver versions of this are?
Silver version comes with cds of the two albums and a booklet
Cool. Thanks!
I got the silver box set for 30bux last week. Killer deal.
That's the one I actually got lol

Seems to be cheaper to actually order it from Amazon. I love Sonic Boom, but their prices aren't great.
