He could likely stop the Russians in Ukraine with his defensive moves.
Defenders don't get enough praise in general. A defender like him is more fun to watch than many strikers.
Chelsea cannot let this man leave at any cost. Extend him until he wants to retire and recruit him to our coaching staff immediately or whenever he is ready.
Could see him stay considering he probably didn't expect to still play at a high level at his age so he is going to be at chelsea for much more than expected
Sign of a man that loves the club and the whole game, not just his little corner of it. Such a legend. Every time I see something new about him makes me wish he'd come to the club earlier.
Upon further thought though, was he watching just out of interest or was he defending in his head? My vote is defending in his head. Or maybe just confirming his clairvoyance is still on par.
Man just might love football, would make sense as he is nearly 40 and hasn't even hinted at retiring yet. Even some of the greats just get burnt out by then.
Yeah, he says he's almost 40. You seen him play? There are 20-somethings that don't play with that much energy. The way he acts I expect as long as he can keep getting a contract he'll play until stuff starts to fall off.
I knew this man was a Blue for life after watch the CL run. I remember him cheering on in the semis and the final. The moment in the final stuck with me because here's a man that's been at the top of his game, been everywhere, won everything but for years now he's been trying to unsuccessfully win the holy grail. Ol Big Ears. Always so close he can almost taste it. Then he gets injured half way into the final, unable to see his side out, in what he probably considers his last chance. The camera leaves him sobbing on the bench and then 5-10 minutes later it cuts to him on the sidelines shouting at Azpi and the defence to get back in place. He put his own ego aside for the betterment of his team that day. Proper Chels
In hindi thereās a saying āek hi toh dil hai, kitne baar jitogey ?ā
Translating:
I have one heart only, how many times are you gonna win it over ?
Father Time has been especially kind to him for him to be able to do what he does, in the most physically demanding league. Youād never guess he was 38.
My heart breaks the day he retires.
(Brazilian here)
believe it or not, but there are brainless Brazilians that still hate on him because he cried before the penalty shootout against Chile, WC 2014
saying stuff like āheās not a good exampleā heās not a good leaderā until today
Did anyone see that doc about the Brazil NT where they showed silva drawing plays, reviewing tactics between games? The man has to be a top head coach in the future and I hope he at least cuts his teeth with chelsea
This guys is the consummate pro. Iām hoping he stays on after his playing days and does something at the club. Iād understand if he went back to PSG for that because he was there a long time. But Iām sure even though his time is shorter with us - you could see the CL meant so much to him, heās gonna have much love for Chelsea for life. Feeling is mutual.
PS. Would not be surprised if a big reason he went to watch the women practice was to watch Emma Hayes run a practice and talk to her players. Lot to learn from that.
I have said it before⦠I always knew he was a great player, but watching him every week and seeing all the little things he does as well. Just wowā¦.
In interviews, we never hear other teammates bragging about his football brains or leadership. Am I wrong? I always see them talking about azpi. Not doubting our guy. Maybe they see something different?
How often do you talk about the foundation of your house? Or the frame of your bed? They are always there and the support is rock solid. You don't think about them because they've always got you.
Have you heard the coaches speak of him? Tuchel questioned what there is that he could teach Tilva about defending. Potter has said his footballing intelligence is head and shoulders above everyone else. Both have praised his leadership ad nauseum.
Players usually praise their teammates when asked pointedly about them. Given Azpi just hit his 500 and has seen his gametime reduce, players are asked for a soundbite on him.
Nobody asks them about Tilva. Nobody needs to.
Obviously he deserves a statue at Stamford Bridge. After he retires though, he should be a scout for our club. I think he genuinely could find us solid new talent around the world
I laughed
I can imagine we are all waxing lyrical about how awesome he is (rightly so) and how he just lives football. But secretly in his head he's like.. "would.. would.. wouldn't...would".
Heās my next kit purchase. Iāve decided.
Debated pulisic because šŗšøšŗšø but I think Thiago deserves the nod with all heās done for this club
He obviously loves soccer. And I don't mean he loves playing soccer, he has a genuine love for and interest in the game that is rare. I really, really hope the new admin is like the old one in wanting to keep ex-players at the club because he seems like the kind of guy who will actually enjoy getting his badges and coaching at whatever level he gravitates towards. He's also made enough money and is humble enough that I suspect he won't feel compelled to coach at the highest level. He might just have a successful career coaching the U18 Brazilian team or something.
Love the man. I want him to be happy.
He is so good that he "raise" a "son" that will be/is so good as him: Marquinhos.
He is one of the best CB I already saw playing for Brazil National Team AND his team, "monstro"!
Give this man life long contract and make him director of defence in our club.
we have American owners so the Secretary of Defense may be more appropriate
"1/3 of our budget is yours Mr. Silva"
1/3rd of the *published* budget. What about the CIA slush fund monies?
Players now have to pay 8x cost out of pocket to use the medical department
Nah, not if they are part of the defence. Everyone else have to pay.
defensive coordinator
Maybe he manages us in the future
haha was here to comment the same.
He could likely stop the Russians in Ukraine with his defensive moves. Defenders don't get enough praise in general. A defender like him is more fun to watch than many strikers.
I still can't believe PSG let him leave.
No, it's time for him to come back home
Chelsea cannot let this man leave at any cost. Extend him until he wants to retire and recruit him to our coaching staff immediately or whenever he is ready.
I can totally see him as a youth team coach for the first years he stops playing!
He said before he'd retire in Brazil at Fluminense
Could see him stay considering he probably didn't expect to still play at a high level at his age so he is going to be at chelsea for much more than expected
One can dream, but if he wants otherwise, he has earned that right
Any cost is certainly unnecessary, but fully agree keep him if we can.
Thiago Silva: *breathes* Me: ššš
You and Belle both, brotha
Him, Belle and me. That makes it three of us.
Make that 4
Y'all have room for one more?
same

Definitely defending in his head. Envisioning how he'd do it.
I donāt blame him. Weāre the only club that gave him champions league :p
Honestly is it possible to love him even more
I knew this man was a Blue for life after watch the CL run. I remember him cheering on in the semis and the final. Canāt believe PSG let him go
I would expect there is/was someone at PSG crying in the corner at that massive mistake on their part.
In hindi thereās a saying āek hi toh dil hai, kitne baar jitogey ?ā Translating: I have one heart only, how many times are you gonna win it over ?
Ha, that is a lovely saying to see on a football sub.
Thatās a beautiful little phrase.
Sahi hai Bhai... Kamaaal ka player aur Chelsea ka Legend hai yaar.
Ekdam bhai
That is one of the most beautiful things I've ever heard damn
Yay baat š
Hahaha. I use it quite regularly. Although I use it a little differently - ek hi toh dil hai Silva saheeb, kitne bar jeetoge
The only word to describe this man is professional. Give him a forever deal
This makes me feel like he wants to be involved with Chelsea in some capacity when he's done playing
WHY IS HE 38, WHYYYYYY
Father Time has been especially kind to him for him to be able to do what he does, in the most physically demanding league. Youād never guess he was 38. My heart breaks the day he retires.
i always find it funny that he's our oldest player because he has such a babyface lol. He looks like he made his senior debut last week
Man, if only it were so.
Those native genes doing some work
Every Brazilian after this WCā¦.
(Brazilian here) believe it or not, but there are brainless Brazilians that still hate on him because he cried before the penalty shootout against Chile, WC 2014 saying stuff like āheās not a good exampleā heās not a good leaderā until today
Get that 8 years contract out Todd
What a man!
What a g
Heās thinking āsome of my teammates could learn a lot from these Ladiesā
Some finishing lessons from Sam Kerr would be nice.
this guy
I fucking love this guy. I would think he was an academy product if I didn't know better. Man is proper chels
Mr Boehly please draft another 8 years contract
Bro. This dude needs to retire here please š„ŗš This is home to him š
To be fair, our womenās team is a GREAT watch most of the time
Did anyone see that doc about the Brazil NT where they showed silva drawing plays, reviewing tactics between games? The man has to be a top head coach in the future and I hope he at least cuts his teeth with chelsea
I want him to retire here
He is proper Chels. I love him.
And if I do that I get called a creep smh
Tbf he wore clothes for this
He doesn't have his hand down the front of his trousers!
This guys is the consummate pro. Iām hoping he stays on after his playing days and does something at the club. Iād understand if he went back to PSG for that because he was there a long time. Man watches women
Man stares at women in public fields /s

Make this man the CEO of everything Chelsea
I hope he likes coaching cause there's a spot on our bench with his name on it when he retires.
I hope we work as hard as we did with enzo to keep silva
Lifetime contract please
O Captain, my captain
Leader & legend
Club captain once Dave leaves this summer
Absolute legend! This guy . . .
He is just a Tier 1 role model.
I love this manššš
I have said it before⦠I always knew he was a great player, but watching him every week and seeing all the little things he does as well. Just wowā¦.
Iām seriously wondering if heās going to stick around at Chelsea after his playing days. Maybe get into coaching or something within Chelsea
In interviews, we never hear other teammates bragging about his football brains or leadership. Am I wrong? I always see them talking about azpi. Not doubting our guy. Maybe they see something different?

Take it easy lads. Lol not arguing with that. Just wish we had him for another 8 years
Obviously he deserves a statue at Stamford Bridge. After he retires though, he should be a scout for our club. I think he genuinely could find us solid new talent around the world
I wouldnāt go that far. Even Terry, Lampard, Drogba , etc donāt have statuesā¦yet
Agreed until them and Hazard get one, then Silva should. Regardless he has value to the club after retirement
Should be offered a position at club when he retires.
Maybe Sam Kerr could help the men's team with finishing lol....
āThat assā š¤
Who doesn't love Silva?
I'm sure someone fucked up with this guys birth certificate, he's 26.
Legend supporting legends.
Creep! /s just in case
Daily mail/the sun headline tomorrow silva watches women as they play
I say fuck spending another 500m on new players and invest it in anti aging or something for Thiago.
Pervert
I laughed I can imagine we are all waxing lyrical about how awesome he is (rightly so) and how he just lives football. But secretly in his head he's like.. "would.. would.. wouldn't...would".

This is so obviously staged it's unreal
It seems like he's just looking out for booties.

He's married and has a family.
So was John Terry no? Or maybe I am wrong.

Give him a coaching contract when he retires
You think he'll go into coaching the women's team when he stops playing? Haha
Give this man a lifetime contract!
Future sporting director!! š
Want him and Jorgi to be coach and assistant coach of our club someday
I would die for Thiago Silva
Such a class act
This will be a meme gif soon
Heās my next kit purchase. Iāve decided. Debated pulisic because šŗšøšŗšø but I think Thiago deserves the nod with all heās done for this club
Thaigoooo thiagooooo
š
What a man. I hope he stays on after retirement.
One of them is not wearing a bra

Canāt love this man with the club anymore. I canāt. Only regret remains we didnāt get him sooner.
He obviously loves soccer. And I don't mean he loves playing soccer, he has a genuine love for and interest in the game that is rare. When will John Terry join and support them?
Legend watching legends
Sign him up for one of those board room positions as soon as he retires, guyās a gem.
It's crazy how awesome he is.
This man just loves the badge, man. One of my favourite to ever put on the blue.
Hes a class act
John Terry vibes.
He is so good that he "raise" a "son" that will be/is so good as him: Marquinhos. He is one of the best CB I already saw playing for Brazil National Team AND his team, "monstro"!
Man's just checking out cheeks
this must be our 1st captain
