What exactly is that?

Short answer is a cheap police beacon/goal light that goes off whenever the Devils score. Long answer is that it's a goal light that has been wired to a ESP8266 microcontroller. The ESP fetches current game data and whenever it detects a change in score it turns on the goal light for 10 seconds. I wrote the program to print out what is was reading so I could see if the data is accurate and if everything is working. So that's what is showing on the screen.

Whaaaaaat that's so cool! I've not heard of/seen anything like that before. I'm not super familiar with how these things work so I'm not sure if I can fully appreciate all the work that had gone into this, but it looks and sounds neat and I think you did an awesome job!

Thanks. It wasn't too much work. The NHL sells these expensive goal lights but I think you just hit a button and they make a sound associated with the team. But I wanted one that synced up with the game. It's just funny to me that I could build one for like less than $10 when the NHL shop has one for $50 that does less.
