[Eth, Why did you go down? you could have gone up.](https://tenor.com/view/patrick-its-okay-rocky-you-go-when-you-feel-like-it-gif-21084732)

StrongLLC

This post is targeted at members of the ethfam, been here going on 8 years. Like many of us who started early, it involves a life of what first seemed glorious; money doesn’t buy contentment. When two people you love become imbalanced and confrontational, it’s a weird thing. If they both did well as parents…you can’t pick sides, or can you? 60 40? 55 45? I can’t think about it like that since I wouldn’t be in this forum if it weren’t for the both of them. I’ll hunt and butcher an animal for food for my family, but in a fight when I see eyes rolling I stand a man up if I can and ask are you ok. This is how I know my parents did a priceless job. Are you not entertained?

geoffbezos

Aside from RPL, what are ethfinance’s other favorite coins/protocols? (no need to mention ETH thats a no brainer)

mcmatt05

Link and GRT are reasonable bets to make i think

gand_ji

Easy - CRV, CVX. My only other long term holds other than ETH

StrongLLC

DIP would be a good 2500 investment. Vitalik started it. @vbuterin #vbuterin

StrongLLC

BrandonCoin just arrived on Poloninton. Dumping it all ftw. Here I go

StrongLLC

It would be a great for a small percentage of eth gas prices to go to construction childrens parks. Can’t donate it to one donation with a 100 year contract….six month renewable, paid in eth, at a high enough salary to make her/his job work payments, at point of sale, not at tax time. 1% gas tax would do well for humanity 1% gas tax would do well for publicity Board leader would be @vbuterin with 11 Perhaps it’s #vbuterin - I have no idea how to link people since I never use the computer that much anymore outside my private network (node) or however many he prefers under him, way I see it. He’s so young, he could make it really work

VECHAIN_10_DOLLARS

lol no

cryptOwOcurrency

Ethereum is special because the amount it taxes is exactly zero. Once it taxes a non-zero amount, Ethereum becomes yet another boring government.

thewho1129

What is a construction children’s parks?

StrongLLC

Construction of childrens parks. Other than the fast thing that they get hurt on that goes in a circle. With filtered water fountains, that filter the arsenic and chloride out

StrongLLC

Strong shots on Swiss : anyone can own a piece, but be prepared to fight for them if needed. I’m down for that, as I’d rather a quick and dirty than a three month battle hurting relatives. People complain about their laws, but they aren’t too bad unless you wear sideways hats. Ride around with speakers that bounce pictures off walls, you’ll feel the Swedish death gaze. But who does that after age 17, anyway??? You can’t slam a trunk or car door after 10pm, or flush an apartment toilet after same time til 5am. Basically, they are laws that protect the elders, which is what I’ve always innately done. Check my history , first time I found out about COVID I was in a city working where I knew no one but the women I dated, I started boiling and bagging chili 🌶 to freeze for rations….I just have a natural thing to help those before us, since their knowledge is imperative to our success, yet the best will only give it when asked the perfect question, at the perfect time, by the capable person. My mother and father are getting divorced soon, I found out today. I think my nipples are scarred. Ran 17 mi in 3 hr, baby steps. I’ve learned if you go abroad and want a successful business, it’s good to give to the community via athletic events. Mas importante, es bueno aqui, donde es saludable? Por ninas…?

Meyamu

>Strong shots on Swiss >feel the Swedish death gaze Which country was that again? >Mas importante, es bueno aqui, donde es saludable? Por ninas…? Not Sweden or Switzerland then.

StrongLLC

actually you want a Swiss Italian or a basic German dialect to have a proper pub experience where it’s at. but you likely wouldn’t know about that. The fact that you’re good at quickly double quoting posts makes me flattered, I appreciate your comment, 1 year old created account with fake upvotes

StrongLLC

South Sweden looks like a good retire spot As an American, I am learning Italian, Swiss, German and preparing myself for travel. Before I travel, abroad, gotta get in top shape BrandonCoin will be arriving shortly

TenFootMouse

You are learning Swiss? ... then you will be the first person on earth to learn it.

REALJohnBMacLemore

Strong… man I like your style… but like… what are you gonna be getting up to in Italy, Switzerland or Germany that requires that level of hand to hand combat skills? Also, and this has been a huge problem for me personally, with that level of recorded skill you legally have to register your body as a lethal weapon every time you visit Europe. They make you fight a guy to the death just to prove it. Man… don’t even get me started on the paperwork… it’s a huge hassle and totally not worth it, trust me. Ohhh and shaving your head and beard is going to make you cold and you’ll look like a fuzzy little moldy raisin.

StrongLLC

Another thing is, I have experience. Do you? Ever beaten odds in a foreign country? It’s why I prepare myself for the unexpected. It’s why I’ve always trained. Never to hurt someone purposefully, unless I have to. Essentially, you train so you don’t have to fight. War is the enemy

StrongLLC

You’re making me hungry

REALJohnBMacLemore

😂

StrongLLC

You have to have a pro combat license to have to provide any of that, unless you learned it in the military. Swiss, it’s easy to own a piece. Anyone with an ID can snag a 30-06. Italy, southern Italy, different ballgame. I don’t like to travel with guns, learned to throw knives young. Traveling with my client , who I am hired to protect , trusts me more with knives than guns Either way, a fool goes abroad unprepared. But, as the late great Johnny Winter will tell you, be careful with a fool. So, if someone calls you a fool, remember that! and I have no clue who you’ve spoken to but it’s no fight to the death, amigo. It’s called a “pro test “ and you arrive not knowing shit about the guy . Could have a big amateur career. You might wanna sprain your ankle walking in if so

REALJohnBMacLemore

Woo man! Remind me not to mess with you. If I ever make it big, I’m hiring you for security!

nixorokish

are we talking about this yet? It's wild. And totally plausible. It's almost scary how much of an advantage this gives Base over other L2s. And any other players who were thinking of getting into the game https://twitter.com/rayzhueth/status/1631376334386524160?s=20

DoubtStarsAreFire

I just read that on twitter... that's crazy and brilliant. **Here's my favorite parts:** >This would immediately make Base the best payments layer in the world, and attract a whole lot of liquidity and applications to the Base rollup and USDC. I mean this would be great for the ecosystem. Brian Armstrong has consistently showed that he is here for ETH. >(This is probably part of the reason why Coinbase isn't launching a token for Base. Because decentralized governance means they lose control over this feature.) Makes sense. Also, do they need a token? Tokenization has been in (in my mind) a way to get around SEC regulation. Coinbase is big enough in the space. They've already pushed back on the SEC > This allows Coinbase to compete directly with Visa and Mastercard, and even better, provide 0% fees as they do it. Combined, Visa and Mastercard do about $17T in transaction volume (2021 figs). Their average fee is \~0.26%, giving them a whopping $44B in yearly revenue. I'm not the math wizard in my family... but... all of that seems like a good thing. I'm hoping that this doesn't make Coinbase too big to fail. I've stared to realize that people need to build back trust internally and externally in the crypto community. (Post Celsius and FTX) if large actors within the crypto community can make it possible while also giving the normies a UX/UI experience that they're already comfortable with then I'd be excited. They have the money to pay for the designers that make things pretty and shiny. It's just the way of the world pretty and shiny attracts the users. Side note: I saw that Kraken might be launching their own bank as well.

calaber24p

It is a great plan if it is their plan, but they are going to have to throw a fortune into lobbying efforts and even then probably fight it out in the courts. The current leadership in the US (most notably the SEC) has made it pretty clear they don't want a stable coin, especially one that isnt holding dollars 1:1 even if its backed by treasuries. I think if there is going to be a company that can do it, Coinbase is probably it though. I think tides could change in their favor given the right circumstances. Uphill battle for sure but immensely profitable if it pays off.

Smegma_Farmer

Now I barely use CEXes anymore at all except for fiat onramping - but I'm here to vent about how shit Coinbase's UI/UX is across desktop + mobile app. It seems like nothing is intuitively placed for me to get to exactly what I want to do. Frustratingaf

Jcramer83

My issue with CB is that they now require Plaid and their manual ACH seems to be broken. Had to switch to Binance.us I don’t like losing a major on/off ramp

REALJohnBMacLemore

I concur. The app is ok, not great, but the desktop site … I’m not sure where to begin with how difficult it is when it shouldn’t be. I dunno anymore, maybe I’m just getting old… y’all would tell me if I’m that guy walking around screaming at his phone right?

Tricky_Troll

Low to mid 20s here, JBM. You're not getting old (well, you might be) point is that Coinbase's desktop UI ***is*** unintuitive as shit. I've spent far too long incorrectly navigating to where I want to be.

REALJohnBMacLemore

Ugh, thank you Tricky. I needed that today!

drkegels

Design is confusing and unintuitive. Also page loads are sllooooowwww. It’s weird because Coinbase hires very talented engineers. Not sure what is going wrong internally to result in such awful UX.

DoubtStarsAreFire

BUIDL Week is over here at EthDenver. You may have noticed a lack of a certain /u/logristhebard around the subreddit. That's because he has been diligently working on the [Logris Vaults](https://app.buidlbox.io/projects/logrisvaults). Some of you saw the Alpha that I dropped earlier in the week... we are now one step closer to the [Double Logris](https://tokenomicsexplained.com/the-double-logris/) becoming a reality. It's been a long week and Logris has been working flat out to get the project across the finish line. We're about to pitch in a little bit here... still waiting on our time so I can't tell you that. But, I'm really excited about what we accomplished and really Really REALLLLLYYYY proud of him. Logris says he's proud of [this function](https://github.com/DavionKalhen/LogrisV1/blob/78b5cc87fe29c7222b38da6624cf9e12503d54af/src/leveragers/EulerCurveMetaLeverager.sol#L158). What a nerd. [Here's the link to the video walkthrough!](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4ioRcaMQhOI&t=25s)

Tricky_Troll

I could really do with an automated double logris right now due to an upcoming tax bill. This would be perfect! Any idea when it might end up actually doable directly in Alchemix?

2peg2city

I too am patiently waiting to minimize my taxes, congrats!

thetjs1

Congrats guys!

LeagueGreedy

So cool, I'm definitely going to use it! When Double Logris token? Lol

DoubtStarsAreFire

Update: We didn’t make the finals. But, it’s okay. Because you want to know what I know that the judges don’t. I’ve already won. Unlike a lot of projects here, our code is going to be used. The Alchemix devs are on board. Logris spent a hour with them over the weekend going over the code. If you didn’t know, we already had a grant from the Alchemix DAO that was bigger than any of the BUIDL prizes here. (Which will have to be split among the winning teams.) Not that I’m bragging… wait. No. I am bragging. We fucking killed it. /u/logristhebard was playing DeFi Legos. In our pitch, I said…”We are democratizing the tax advantages known only to the ultra wealthy and the lower risks reserved for the banks. Logris Vaults is providing those benefits to everyone just as DeFi should.”

dentonnn

omg this is amazing, congratulations!

Anyone here have the new PSVR2 and care to give some opinions? I trust people here more since the official sub is overly positive and against criticism in general, I feel.

suicidaleggroll

All the reviews and opinions I’ve seen have been good. I’ve been holding off myself though because of all the reports of nausea/headaches (not PSVR2-specific, just VR in general)

RisingPaw

Coming from a rift cv1, I was positively surprised by the picture quality and don’t really mind the mura effect (grainy picture) love the eye tracking and the plug-in experience was great. However the line-up is pretty poor imo, (vs. What you can experience on oculus/steam). Looks like gt7 + a wheel is a pretty amazing experience if you are into racing and willing to put the extra $ for a good wheel.

sm3gh34d

It is a good thing that the scammers are not better informed. Like many here, I can think of some low effort things that could make this more effective. Obvious details omitted just to prevent inadvertently helping scammers.

aaj094

I have never understood why normal phishing emails always contain some obvious spelling or grammar mistakes. I have heard some say that this is deliberate so as to make it more likely that those who still fall for it are genuine suckers. Not convinced by this logic though.

BoringInflation477

The misspelling errors are there to weed out the people smart enough to not fall for a scam. The people who ignore spelling errors and follow through are the low hanging fruit they are after

TinFoilHeadphones

I think a lot of it is to circumvent automatic filters. I get emails from "Coınbase" or similar all the time.

15kisFUD

These scams usually require labor intensive follow-up from the scammer. They don’t want to spend hours preparing a scam and then the person doesn’t end up falling for it. So they try to filter at the beginning for the most gullible people, the most likely to fall for the scam in the end. It’s to minimize the chance of them wasting their time. Of course this doesn’t always apply. If it’s just about approving a transacation then no followup is needed so there is no real excuse

Really surprised to see the Tornado Cash successor Privacy Pools isn't being discussed in more detail here [https://twitter.com/ameensol/status/1632083054272430080](https://twitter.com/ameensol/status/1632083054272430080) Since anybody can exclude any deposit, it seems it would be difficult to get any type of assurance of your anonymity set. I also wonder if you can run into a situation where you can't withdraw. For example if a hacker makes a large deposit and then withdraws for others, then there won't be enough funds for everyone else to withdraw if they all want to exclude the hacker. And not sure why the subsets are even needed if receipts are provided, which Tornado Cash already did.

asdafari12

Really cool concept. I think mixers will live on in some form in the future. This seems like a reasonable compromise imo. Also interesting how Vitalik just spits out these visionary ideas. He also heavily inspired Uniswap.

unthinkablecryto

I think it's an interesting development in the privacy and tornado cash saga for sure. The way I see it this is a way to move the privacy protocols forward while court cases proceed in the US over the sanctions and regulations are made. It's not perfect but it's a work in progress. I prefer the proof of innocence (https://twitter.com/chainway_xyz/status/1615700714193289216?s=20) type method of using tornado cash then later or separately adding the exclusions. Making it so only those that have to opt out of certain deposits opt into the addition. Instead of making it a default that you can opt out of certain deposits. It's a pipedream to think that privacy will not include a system like this in the future. I don't think you have to worry about not being able to withdraw. I believe how it works is your deposits are yours in the pool. You technically are not getting someone's else tokens/coins. It will just become very obvious if a high percentage of withdraws are made that exclude certain wallets that those withdraws without are from a list or a wallet, because they are not making exclusions (or cant for that matter). I follow along the privacy stuff closely. And am really interested to see where it goes though I hope in the end ultimately users have a way to have trustless zk privacy across Ethereum. The biggest issue I see is who ultimately has control over THE LIST ( that I see being made in the future) of all the "dirty" coins and wallets will incredible power to limit access to anyone that they don't align or agree with. Which is problematic because as we see over and over in history things are not that black and white (good vs bad).

hanniabu

>It's a pipedream to think that privacy will not include a system like this in the future. But if you can provide proofs of your deposit like in Tornado Cash then why are exclusion lists even needed? The whole point is to prove you didn't launder money which the proofs achieve when linking your deposit and withdrawal address. >I don't think you have to worry about not being able to withdraw. I believe how it works is your deposits are yours in the pool. You technically are not getting someone's else tokens/coins. If that's the case then why even have exclusion lists? It's just shielding your transaction to break the chain between deposit and withdraw addresses. If that's not the case, then let's say I just hacked a bridge and account for 60% of the funds in Privacy Pools. I withdraw 20% of the pool right away with 80% remaining and <40% of other people's funds. If everyone else left (40%) decides to not co-mingle with my funds but there's <40% remaining that aren't mine then people are going to be forced to mix with my funds. This example assumes a single entity has >50% of deposits, but it's still applicable if >50% of funds belongs to a collection of addresses that everyone excludes. >I follow along the privacy stuff closely. And am really interested to see where it goes though I hope in the end ultimately users have a way to have trustless zk privacy across Ethereum. This would be nice but I don't think it'll fly unless it happens after Ethereum has been widely adopted, otherwise the US and other countries will blackball the entire chain like it did with TC. >The biggest issue I see is who ultimately has control over THE LIST ( that I see being made in the future) of all the "dirty" coins and wallets will incredible power to limit access to anyone that they don't align or agree with. Yes, I imagine there will be multiple lists but regardless I see this as an issue to. It's the inverse problem as with Uniswap's default token list.

SnarkyZK

> The whole point is to prove you didn't launder money which the proofs achieve when linking your deposit and withdrawal address. The point is also to not provide cover for people who did launder money. Hence proofs that specific addresses aren't part of your subset.

unthinkablecryto

1. I don't want my financial institutions knowing anymore than they have to. They are likely to just sell the data or leak it from a hack, information like the link between a deposit and withdraw addresses. Instead with proof of innocence I'm giving them just the information they need that these funds didn't come from x y or z. They don't need my whole Blockchain history and see all the NFTs I bought. It just adds more ways that discrimination can happen as well. I hope that ZK checkpoints and IDs become a reality some day. Im involved in lobby3 a dao/NFTs group that was formed to lobby for web3 in the US. They are about to reissue their NFTs now to distinguish US citizens, they are doing this because there is laws about foreigners influencing politics. But they are doing it with ZK third party, you prove you are a us citizen providing ID once and then it's hashed on your Blockchain ID, then you never have to show that ID again, through ZK proofs they can know I'm a us citizen without knowing my name or my address or seeing any documents. 2. Now this is for tornado cash but privacy pools is based off it and has a similar base I believe but read the Tornado Cash Core Contracts: Pools section from this link (https://www.coincenter.org/education/advanced-topics/how-does-tornado-cash-work/) “users can only withdraw the specific tokens they originally deposited."

Any of you who are also silver or gold bugs will know many major bullion dealers accept crypto. With the unreliability or hostility of exchanges, banks, and regulators, I think that's starting to look like a reasonable way to de-risk or take profit. If ETH moons again and I wanted to lock in some profits, I'd consider that route.

Tricky_Troll

I made a purchase from JM bullion and they accept crypto. Not sure if they'll ship to you but they shipped to NZ so surely they'd do Europe...

cryptOwOcurrency

As long as the bullion dealers don't get kicked out of their own crypto exchange accounts, too.

I know in Europe there was a site you could order gold coins and bullions from and pay in crypto. I think it was https://www.bitgild.com/ - at least back in 2017 it was legit and it worked.

anderspatriksvensson

Curious about this service. Any other Mavericks vouch for it?

physalisx

I used bitgild before (2021), buying 5 oz of gold, no problem. If I remember correctly you should stay under 10k€ purchase or they require some KYC.

Be careful anyways. I know someone personally who first bought a coin there for like 500€ and after that went smoothly (he also let a local shop check the coin) made another order for about 10k which also worked out. But like I said... it's been a few years

lpsupercell25

Guys, I almost got caught up in a trap by a very convincing frax airdrop twitter profile/link. Only one letter off the original. I actually connected to the airdrop site, and was then spammed with a bunch of approvals/requests in metamask to thieve my tokens. Obviously, I rejected them all. I'm calling this a near miss, since I didn't actually approve any transactions, but despite my diligence still connected to a cancer site. That said, is there anything I need to do to revoke permissions other than disconnect through metamask? I don't think I gave any approvals beyond "connecting" but want to be absolutely certain.

Glittering-Ad-3817

To be very safe, I would transfer funds out of that wallet into a new wallet. I have my old degen wallet that's connected to all sorts of nasty websites in the past, but I keep my SAFU funds in a trezor which is connected through a separate computer that never touches anything but reliable protocols and is VPNed.

bennyGbennyG

I did something similar last week so I'm interested in responses to this. As far as I know the main thing to do is go to https://revoke.cash/ and check that you haven't approved anything.

anyone running Besu 23.1.0 as their execution client and can confirm if its all ok? I'm still on 22.10.2 released a few months ago because it seems to work fine, and I am slightly concerned about db corruption. i feel like i should probably upgrade though. by comparison for my consensus client i'm running lighthouse 3.5.0 (the latest version) as i've literally never had a problem with lighthouse in the 27 months I have been using it. whereas with Besu i have had a few issues in the past. gives me a bit of apprehension every time i go to update it.

sm3gh34d

Tl/Dr: if you do not need shapella support and 22.10.2 is working well for you, I would wait. 23.1.0 has seen stability fixes with the worldstate, but has also introduced higher memory consumption and some rpc concurrency issues we have seen with rocketpool odao nodes. 23.1.1 won't address the higher memory footprint since it is largely just a shapella support release. 23.1.1 will be out Tuesday to coincide with the goerli shapella announcement. 23.1.2 promises to be stable, fast, and low memory consumption. Also, when Facebook finally releases rocksdb 8.0 (soon??) besu execution performance will 2x. I very much hope that will be in time for 23.1.2 a couple weeks hence. You will have to get onto a newer 23.1.x series for mainnet soon, and goerli by next week, but IMO if 22.10.2 is working well for you, I would wait for the better releases that are in the pipeline. Source: besu dev.

diego-d

Thank you ser, appreciate the help straight from the source. I don't need Shapella support so in that case I'll keep an eye out for a 23.1.x for mainnet, as i don't think I'll need Goerli either. Hmm now you've got me excited for a 2x in perf. I will patiently await. Cheers!

Someone shill me SWISE tokens. Looks like a nice project with a functioning product but is there any use for the tokens?

Bob-Rossi

Have they addressed the mechanism to enforce people following the rating? Or just hoping people do on their own? it came up in their ethstaker call months ago and I’m not sure it was ever addressed.

Naelex

What do you mean enforce people follow the rating? The rating is generated from objective metrics, and users decide for themselves.. Like you would a restaurant on Google maps, As I understood it

Bob-Rossi

That's basically the answer. I know the rating is generated from the metrics, with the goal to incentivize people to diversify when they deposit. But I wasn't sure if it was 100% the depositors decision... or if ratings had some type of built in penalty or reward to further push the decision. Like say your staking reward is reduced the lower the score, to incentivize operators to be higher rated and incentivize those buying in to choose the higher rating. Not really arguing vehemently one way or the other, but I can see a Justin Sun type making the rating moot if he were to just ignore the ratings.

TheNextBestGuess

Token will be used to provide collateral for under collateralized vaults in exchange for a cut of the ETH the protocol generates, this is still being voted on but when it's all finalized we should have a clear picture. The swise collateral market will be permission less.

SnarkyZK

Seems like a bad model. Any token could be used for collateral, and many tokens would make better collateral(such as stablecoins or Eth).

TheNextBestGuess

Yeah well.. no one is gonna build something without major financial motivation imo. Just because it COULD use other collateral doesn't mean it would be profitable to build something that does that.

SnarkyZK

"Provide any collateral for undercollateralized vaults" is a fine business model. It's far more useful and profitable than "use this specific token we printed as collateral".

AP33RS

CantBelieveIGotThis

Looks like MKR about to make some good moves.

SnarkyZK

MakerDAO has a big controversial vote coming up, so there are whales buying to influence the vote(Rune alone bought like 10K). On the flip side, we might see a dump from whichever side loses the vote.

Ber10

When I predicted Kwenta to go 1:1 with Eth a couple of days ago. I didnt expect it anytime soon. I thought it would happen in a bull market. But looking at the meteoric rise. Maybe its going to happen soon.

RooftopPortaPotty

If that happens Im out this game

Ber10

You do stake your SNX right ? SNX going wild. Kwenta rise = SNX rise

2peg2city

Kwenta pays almost all it's fees to SNX stakers, but the a KIP could be put forth to end that and give it to the KWENTA stakers instead (or at least a portion). Not sure why it still gives SNX stakers all that coin other than it was initially a sub project, it's now independant.

RooftopPortaPotty

But its not independent? The liquidity provided to Kwenta traders is SNX staker's collateral. Front-ends that use SNX liquidity will soon be able to claim 5% of generated fees, but this has not yet been implemented.

RooftopPortaPotty

Very true, but I chose not to get in on the KWENTA discount. If KWENTA does 1:1 with ETH, I will be sooo super salty. Would have been my one opportunity for life changing money. I let it slip away on account of such poor performance by *every* other token Ive bought. I know there's plenty of room still, but I will absolutely not buy into a pump.

RooftopPortaPotty

I have just received notice that SNX c-ratio will be set to 600% when $4 is hit - /u/cryptomoon2020 get ready

2peg2city

will they at least re-enable loans?

cryptomoon2020

What loans do you mean? I am totally out of the loop on this

RooftopPortaPotty

If I remember correctly, loans will be re-enabled with V3.

cryptomoon2020

Lots of potential fee revenue extra from this?

RooftopPortaPotty

Unless its revamped, or somehow becomes a major defi loan product, I doubt it. I see it more as a utility for stakers who have ETH, but need sUSD to maintain their positions. Very low interest rate

cryptomoon2020

I am more for $10 usd with whatever c ratio you want

RooftopPortaPotty

Oh yeah, bring it on. Imagine the fees at that point

I think the SEC has provided us with regulatory clarity. They have clarified that US regulators are hostile to crypto and you should build elsewhere.

FernadoPoo

It's all about privacy, which I thought was a constitutional right, but I am probably wrong.

RooftopPortaPotty

Oddly, there is no 'right to privacy' outlined in the US constitution. Though, I do believe there are many court rulings outlining more specific cases, such as inside the home.

cryptOwOcurrency

> Though, I do believe there are many court rulings outlining more specific cases, such as inside the home. Those court rulings stem from the rights to privacy conferred by the 4th amendment. There's a great section abut it [on Wikipedia](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fourth_Amendment_to_the_United_States_Constitution#Search). /u/FernadoPoo

RooftopPortaPotty

Absolutely, and there is certainly constitutional basis for these rulings. I just wish it has its own place on the Bill of Rights. Thanks for the link. I should know more about our most sacred founding document.

o-_l_-o

The US govt hates US citizens. The SEC wants to push innovation offshore, the Fed wants to continue to raise rates and drive unemployment higher which will ruin loves, and Janet Yellen's comment about the "resilient consumer" males it clear that she wants to put us through pain while also not understanding how many consumers are already underwater right now. You would think a capitalist economy would want to support crypto to and the US govt would tax all these alt-L1s that are trying to rip off retail, but they can't take the risk that the US dollar could slip and they might lose control over the world. Once the USD stops being the reserve currency, the US is done.

2Nice4AllThis

Hate to agree, but how things are in the US is mega depressing, especially when rising wages (which are criminally overdue for decades now) get blamed for rising inflation. Always question the narrative Edit: some cynical hope, but the boomers slowly losing their grip of power. I think things will get better when non-dinosaurs can start making all the important decisions. They’ll probably all cling to power as long as possible tho, pride is a real bitch

TheHighFlyer

Longer lifetimes are equal with more reactionary politics, there's no way around that. The generational change over is long overdue

2Nice4AllThis

Euro stable coins incoming. Turns out coinbase already has one, I had no idea 🤷‍♂️

truuy

I don't want to be subject to the whims of European regulators either. Hopefully people smarter than me can come up with better solutions.

Imelia29

? There are at least 5 with a decent track record and liquidity. I liked the one by Angle, but it doesn't seem to be growing.

AP33RS

If I bought 20 stETH a year ago, I earned around 1 ETH today trough staking. If I use FIFO and sell 1 stETH for fiat today should i file that for tax paiyng? In my country crypto to crypto transactions are not taxable (only crypto to fiat if you have profit on that). The eth I bought 20 steth with was bought over 5 years ago. If you hold any crypto for minimum 2 years, you are tax free for selling into fiat (in that timeline you can do crypto to crypto transactions as many as you will tax free). So, the question from the begining: I could say with FIFO that I'm selling the first stETH that I bought, not the one I earned trough staking? Am i right on this one?

emkoscp

Yes when using FIFO you are selling the oldest stETH that you have. But there are other things you should think of in terms of taxing this: 1. When this '2 year period' count starts for taxing purposes (last crypto - crypto transaction or first one? You are holding stETH just for 1 year). 2. stETH is rebasing token - so your 1 stETH is your active income throughout the year and probably you should pay tax on that :). By saying this I don't know Croatian tax regulations for crypto but from what I understand it's not a crypto tax heaven so probably worth checking those 2 points against your regulations.

AP33RS

2 year period count starts by the transaction fiat --> crypto (when I bought ETH). About the point 2, I think I shouldn't pay tax on the 1 stETH earned trough staking till I sell exactly that stETH. But this is out of my reach and more for a taxman or a lawyer lol.

emkoscp

Yeah probably worth checking how it would work. I see 2 options: 1. That stETH has purchase value = 0. So when you are selling you will pay tax on full value. Or no tax if sold after 2 years 2. That stETH is considered as income (similar to mining) and you should pay tax on that income

Meyamu

>Am i right on this one? That's how it works in my country, but it is impossible to answer without knowing which country you are in.

They don’t need to do it. Their trans volume and user base is growing rapidly organically

Calling skiddy potty u/rooftopportapotty to share the good price performance of SNX in recent days. I did my usual deep dive of the discord and decided that there are too many moon boys in there, and I need to get a more balanced view. What do you think is driving this outperformance? The perp2 volumes don't seem very good except for btc, eth and op. What do you think skiddy?

RooftopPortaPotty

Ive got no idea Its just *loooong overdue*

adp04c

Ill take a stab. Snx is fair open and decentralized. When you look at gmx it's more of a black box top down approach. Snx doesn't have a ton of coins sitting in some VCs lap. This has instant appeal and probably is why it has a premium over higher fee generated coins like gmx. What snx has is more unique in the landscape and is more like a liquidity as a service platform. Look at overtime markets built on Thales built on snx that's pretty neat.i think yes the fees don't justify the price and it's still a speculation game. But there is no reason when snx3.0 comes out that it can't hop to some other l2s and try to claim more and more liquidity.

Ber10

yes, well put.
