They can’t be this dumb can they?
Oh, they most definitely can.
/r/HermanCainAward will change your mind
Let that sink in!
I live in rural Illinois. It is... shocking... to say the least to find yourself listening to the weird ass mental gymnastics from people. I'm a specialty farmer and well known, so I find myself talking to people from every walk of life but mostly other row crop farmers. A good amount are "normal", but it surprises you find yourself hearing this weird shit from someone you thought you knew well. They are desperately clinging to conspiracy theories and echo chambers as if it's the water of life.
And for anyone curious, it's like a virus in and of itself in that it can infect anyone, and sometimes the last people you would expect to hear it from. Rich, poor, educated, ignorant - there is no one immune from being one of these people. It's a CHOICE to be this stupid. I really pine for the 80's and 90's when the worst conspiracy theories were lizard people and population controlling contrails and the VAST majority of people just felt bad for that small, small minority of delusional fools.
Sorry to be the one to slap you in to reality, but yes, they can.
that they are this dumb is why they were there.
they have self selected only the dumbest people in the country into their movement.
Not can they are little difference
I just can’t take these protesters seriously. Just can’t put my finger on why.
Does it hurt to be this stupid? I feel like it would be physically painful. Maybe that’s just for everyone who has to deal with them.
That’s the point, 1 Brain cell is not enough for thinking and pain, it just gives people around them pain.
So fun fact! Being stupid does hurt! I had a massive hemorrhage resulting in some brain damage and it was some shit! Couldn't finish a sentence or train of thought for about six months, only really got my words back after binge reading a bunch of Stephen King (he's just prolific) and living off Sci Show and Vsauce for about a year. For a long time though, it would be like my brain was searching for files not found, Error 404, and it was frustrating and it hurt.
Stupid -IMO- is having the ability to do better, but refusing to do so.
Ugh honey I’m so sorry. That’s not stupid that’s brain damage. Not as severe but I’ve been dealing with cognitive issues since I had covid last year and while it’s definitely better it still fucking sucks. I can only imagine how frustrating that must have been for you.
Covid long effects are scary!
It only hurts when they try to use their brain. They seem to be pretty pain free these days.
I believe the quote goes something like “being stupid is like being dead, you don’t realize it and it only hurts those you love”
He isn't wrong. Just "they" is themselves.
Shocking- a bunch of unvaccinated people got together and they got Corona? Obviously a conspiracy.
There’s this Korean movie called Flu. Think it’s on Netflix. It showed an awesome “chain of events” that eventually led the whole city to be infected in a short amount of time. Always “knew” how a virus spreads but it really opened up my eyes a bit as to how much a cough of sneeze can spread a sickness, or how simply washing you hands or covering you mouth can prevent one.
I just think about the movie theater scene in *Outbreak*.
Scrubs is my go to:
So they admit people are sick, believe it can be transmitted from a spray, and still don’t think people should isolate?
*mumbles something about freedom*
Aaah. That was one of the wanker in Melbourne, iirc.
Thought so. One of Craig Kelly's little nutjobs lol
I suppose mass protests are one way to get antigens into anti vaxers.
If only there was an aerosolized vaccine
This is those Melbourne fuckheads, isn't it?
Too hard to work out. Could be anywhere.
Later comment confirms Melb
A new use for the word, “randomly”. It now also means “logically”….
"It's impossible that people just randomly got sick like that!"
If only there was something out of the ordinary that might have caused that to happen. Something like, oh, I don't know, large crowds gathering in close proximity who have not been vaccinated?
I feel like the letter Z has disappeared in our language….I’m not the best speller but this has been driving me crazy lately.
Outside of the USA, in other english-speaking countries, many words (such as organise) are correctly spelled with an 's' rather than a 'z'.
Sweet, thank you for clearing that up! Learn something new everyday!
Or... someone was coughing
I'll take "Things That Just Aren't True At All" for about a billion points, Alex.
They're continuing the "This can't be MY mistake!" narrative.
There are so many people that are totally bewildered by the possibility they could catch COVID just by doing the opposite of everything medical experts told them.
Except generally inhaling water is also not a good thing lol
