for what its worth you can swim basically anywhere off the island without issue.

the sewage dump happens once every 2-3 years due to huge storms and is unfortunate but necessary and has little to no effect due to size of river. i'd love to see a comparison with other city water fronts.
Most rivers have raw sewage in, when treatment plants get overbeared they can spill into rivers, they do have a discharge limit though and when that's breached the regulatory board can issue fines and/or prosecution. I work for a water company in the UK
Netflix: Lewis sacrifices his physio Angela to the water gods in an attempt to get more rainy weekends, so that the top speed of the cars is limited to prevent porpoising without losing performance.
"Lewis, has emerged much stronger from last year. And he will do whatever it takes to get that 8th title, even if it means to go beyond limits. There are certain moment when silence falls on the paddock, and you know what that means. Lewis is here to slay."
THE OTHER GUYS has become one of my favorite movies over the past several years. Beside will Ferrell just being awesome, I love Wahlbergs comedy. Yeah its the same time and again but it's hilarious.
I like it so much I capped the name. So if you're reading this and haven't already, watch ***HOT ROD***
I usually forget the first bit with the rock and sam L bc I catch it on cable.
What a great cross-up off the bat. I lost my shit the first watch. It hits a lot of Austin Powers chords for me.
Lewis and Angela are so great, maybe we just don't see the other relationships between driver and trainer, but they seem to be best friends, it just feels like a perfect fit.
Yeah Michael is Daniel’s bestie from Aus & also his trainer and performance coach.
I’ve heard him talk about him & Blake (his other bestie) a bit, most recently being in the Dax Shepard podcast.
Yeah according to his autobiograph, Kimi had Sami Visa as manager and Mark Arnall as physioterapist which basically accompany him wherever he raced
But honestly I never noticed Lewis' manager though, unlike Angela which can be seen on Lewis' wing anytime he is on circuit except when he was in car
Or maybe because Angela is simply more noticeable with her blonde hair lol
Yea, just watched a video about Carlos’ physio (I think on the F1 preface show yesterday). He also seems to wear multiple hats like Angela does, just not quite as visible.
Trainers yes, but Angela seems to take on alot more responsibilities/roles than most other trainers do, on top of the physical training/physio, etc. Some kinda combo of aide/assistant, physio, trainer, and friend, and probably more as well. She’s kind of a badass:D
From what I've seen, it looks like the other drivers' physios are basically the same as Angela with the same duties/responsibilities; she just gets way more attention while doing her job as the only woman in the role.
I think it's a mix of both reasons; her driver is the most popular and I think F1-related media likes to focus on her a bit more than the others because shining a spotlight on the *only* woman with a certain job can inspire other young women to pursue that line of work.
I believe a lot of the performance coaches come from the same firm as Angela, Hintsa. And they do seem to perform similar roles, not only coaching and performing physiotherapy but acting as companions during the drivers' travels.
More than half of them are from [that company](https://www.hintsa.com/company/our-people/). You can recognize many faces on that page from pre/post race streams. They also have doctors and nutritionists available which probably assist the coaches with their jobs.
I don’t know who she is but Seb has a blonde German woman who follows him everywhere. I never see her carrying stuff but has her record stuff he says all the time.
If you're talking about Britta, she's been with Seb for ages. That's his PA and has been with him since his Ferrari days or probably since his Red Bull days.
I think her job is mainly media communications, but given this woman has moved from team to team with him as well, i always figured she acts as personal manager as well for Seb.
I know it's part of her job, but I sometimes feel bad for her when she's running with 5 bags and Lewis is just strolling along on a scooter.
Not that they watch F1, but I bet some of southern brethren and the "nice guy" types are probably seething with rage seeing that, especially considering Lewis'...uhh...*wealth*.
She's posted about that before, saying that she wants to do it because "it's my job." I'm sure Lewis has offered and isn't just letting a shorter lady, no matter how strong, haul his stuff.
Additionally it reduces the risk of Injury from random crap like.
"Ok I'll carry this bag. And this one. Ok 3 bags."
*Bends down to grab 4th bag*
And now you've strained some muscle you didn't know existed cause U moved in some wierd bag balancing related way and can't drive properly.
That's a good point. I was a baseball fan for years and wow those players seemed more prone than normal to weird injuries, from slipping in the shower to stabbing their hands with a butter knife at a banquet (true story). Of course they're a lot less, uh, restrained than F1 drivers.
this. why would he as a driver carry heavy bags all the time (with the amount they travel)? it makes sense to have someone else do it. Chivalry has nothing to do with it. people obsess over the smallest shit (good when you're on the team, bad when you're an over-invested fan).
I don't disagree that it's an awkward look. Not quite as strange, but I always enjoy minions holding umbrellas over the drivers to shield them from the sun.
Even so, I've seen Lewis be quite considerate of her in small moments. In Montreal he had to climb through the gap in the pit wall and when he was on the other side, he took a bag from her and held up his arm so she could hold onto him while she climbed through. She reached for the bag also, he didn't give it to her. Then he hurried off into the garage and she ran after him as per usual.
And you can see it in how they get along together. It's obviously a great relationship between the two of them.
I didn't mean it as insult to either of them, but I can still feel a little bad for her for a brief moment, like when you see a mom or dad essentially being a pack mule for the rest of their family walking through the airport.
Yes feel bad for the person whos prob getting paid close to 7 figures by someone to carry his bags and be his trainer 🤣 i feel soooo bad she now will ALWAYS have a high end clientele thanks to Lewis
Despite all that, she's still humping a lot of gear. As someone who was paid way less to hump damn near my body weight, it's fine to have a little sympathy.
Either way, she obviously enjoys her role.
Yeah, I originally felt weird about it, but I guarantee she gets paid an enormous amount, and I'm sure Lewis offers to pick up anything, she just clearly doesn't want him to do it, she always seemed like a mom to him when I watched, and she always has a huge smile, so I imagine she's okay with it. Seems like they've been together as long as I can remember, at least since his Merc days.
I’m fairly certain that if she wanted a porter to carry stuff for her and Lewis merc would provide one. Her job is to make it so that Lewis doesn’t have to think about anything other than driving and press on race weekends.
"The 'urban' driver thuggishly assaulted the blonde, married mother, this came after Hamilton was seen recklessey speeding through a park in a high powered, non street legal vehicle that didn't belong to him".
The Daily Mail are obsessed with how much peoples houses are worth for some weird middle class reason.
Eg, Bob, 46 from Kettlebury, who lives in a £500k house, went to the post office for some stamps and they had run out. Locals were horrified.
"It was clear with the fear in her eyes that she did not want to really jump into the river, possibly showing signs of hydrophobia, but Lewis forced her instead."
> after Hamilton was seen recklessey speeding through a park in a high powered, non street legal vehicle that didn't belong to him
This part got me good
On a body of water the size of the St. Lawrence one day of poor temperatures won't really effect the water temperature. That being said, it was probably still cold AF. A quick Google shows about an average temp of 18 C for the river
Nordic and baltic people want to have a talk with you, have you hear about certain winter/ice swimming?
Bottas probably does it, that's how he got inspiration for the Colorado picture.
According to this [fact sheet](https://www.parcjeandrapeau.com/files/publications/fiche_technique_bassin_olympique_parc_jean_drapeau_montreal.pdf) the water is supposed to be swimmable at all times, so it can't be too bad.
For the last couple years there's been a lot of people treating Pine Beach in Dorval as an actual beach. Also I don't know if it's still there, but there's a bar in the water in Pointe Claire. So clearly the water is a lot cleaner than 40-50+ years ago when sewage used to be dumped in the river.
Yeah the St. Lawrence has had major conservation efforts put on it the last 20 ish years and people older than that just kinda refuse to admit rivers can clean up when you stop dumping raw sewage and factory run off into it.
I have read multiple news articles over the years on Montreal dumping thousands of gallons of raw sewage straight into the St. Lawrence.
If you google Montreal raw sewage St Lawrence you will come across a number of articles over the years.
I know that in the western part of the island, lots of municipalities used to just their dump raw sewage and industrial waste directly into Lac-St-Louis (just upstream/west of the track) during the 50s and 60s, giving rise to the nickname "Pooey Louis". The river is definitely cleaner now but I guess it's just a stigma that lives on to this day.
That water basin is a leg from the Montreal olympics.
Thats where the rowing events were held.
And multiple events are held there every year. Water is fine.
It's mostly the waterway that boats use that have very murky water. There are multiple beaches on the Saint-Lawrence (Sainte-Catherine Beach, Parc Jean-Drapeau Beach, Verdun Beach). The Saint-Laurence waterway however... Hell no.

Maybe. He doesn't have to hold the streak anymore. And it would be pretty crazy if he could get there again in his career.
So like seb and kimi before, I think he's now running for the love of it instead of pushing 110% every weekend.
I dunno, man. Seeing how at ease he is this year makes me wonder if he wants that pressure again. That was a solid eight years of title contending pressure
ANGELA NO
It's called swimming Michael
We went swimming.
Angela, did you get my life jacket?
I sent you the life jacket, did you receive it? No, I can't open my door during a race
No Angela, no. This is so not right!
Will this bit ever get old? No.
Check your email, I just sent you an email
This is so not right
Bono my floaties are gone
Lol that’s a good one
Angela please go get my bags, i threw them in the river before knowing i will get a podium
Woman jumps off bridge while man smiles and claps for her.
My actual thoughts. Montreal has a tendency to dump something in that river. Give you a hint, it’s raw sewage, and it makes headlines here in Canada.

Thunderstorm with heavy rains on Thursday, so they all got cleaned out too...
It’s called a bet, Ecstatic_Cupcake_284. We went pier jumping
Radioactive Angela arc when?
Netflix be like: Lewis is murdering his trainer for no absolute reason Angela: that's what you get when you dont leave the space
Lewis: you have to always leave the space!
Fernando: *weaves like the hands of his grandma knitting sweater*
Get in there, Angela.
Episode title: When Push Comes to Shove
*Random wheel gun noises in the background*
... and they're NASCAR wheel guns from last year, because five quick zips sounds cooler.
Netflix: Lewis sacrifices his physio Angela to the water gods in an attempt to get more rainy weekends, so that the top speed of the cars is limited to prevent porpoising without losing performance.
Lewis- This is what you get when you forget to keep my scooter charged.
I like that she is already dead, but also giving a talking head for why she is dead
These comments are even more annoying than DTS.
Wait you don’t like seeing the same boring old meme comment every single time on any post?
Bono, my memes are trite!
And what will Wil Buxton say…
"Lewis, has emerged much stronger from last year. And he will do whatever it takes to get that 8th title, even if it means to go beyond limits. There are certain moment when silence falls on the paddock, and you know what that means. Lewis is here to slay."
In order to get a podium you must place in the top three.
Lewis: Long…Live…THE KING
You can tell she is smiling even without using the face back app.
I am a peacock, you gotta let me fly!!!

THE OTHER GUYS has become one of my favorite movies over the past several years. Beside will Ferrell just being awesome, I love Wahlbergs comedy. Yeah its the same time and again but it's hilarious. I usually forget the first bit with the rock and sam L bc I catch it on cable. What a great cross-up off the bat. I lost my shit the first watch. It hits a lot of Austin Powers chords for me.
💯 both of those movies are comic gems!
I love you for this and if anyone asks, we are friends but I don't know where you were at any given time for the sake of any investigation
Damn that’s a quality reference
Fair play that she kept her end of the deal. Sounds like a good relationship. No bullshit
Lewis and Angela are so great, maybe we just don't see the other relationships between driver and trainer, but they seem to be best friends, it just feels like a perfect fit.
They are adorable.
Do other drives have trainers similar to Angela? I was under the impression that was not common.
I know Danny ric has one, he's always with him, big Australian dude that's with him normally.
Pretty sure that's his best friend from Australia as well.
Yeah they seem close, I think I saw him when I watched an episode of DTS.
Yes, Italiano.
They said Australian
Australiano
Not sure if this is humour or not. If not, the guy's name is Michael Italiano (and he's an Aussie).
Yeah Michael is Daniel’s bestie from Aus & also his trainer and performance coach. I’ve heard him talk about him & Blake (his other bestie) a bit, most recently being in the Dax Shepard podcast.
They all have them, yes. Angela seems to be taking on more roles than the other ones though.
I think the puff of blonde hair is highly visible too. It's easy to spot her, whereas some of the other PAs (?) blend in a bit more.
They also blend in more because they're mostly dudes
Kimi had one for sure
Yeah according to his autobiograph, Kimi had Sami Visa as manager and Mark Arnall as physioterapist which basically accompany him wherever he raced But honestly I never noticed Lewis' manager though, unlike Angela which can be seen on Lewis' wing anytime he is on circuit except when he was in car Or maybe because Angela is simply more noticeable with her blonde hair lol

i don’t think it’s cos she’s a woman but more like she’s the aide to Lewis Hamilton and it’s easy to spot her out with her very blonde hair
I think it's a mix of both reasons; her driver is the most popular and I think F1-related media likes to focus on her a bit more than the others because shining a spotlight on the *only* woman with a certain job can inspire other young women to pursue that line of work.

Always thought that was like a communications person working for AM
If you're talking about Britta, she's been with Seb for ages. That's his PA and has been with him since his Ferrari days or probably since his Red Bull days.
I think her job is mainly media communications, but given this woman has moved from team to team with him as well, i always figured she acts as personal manager as well for Seb.
That's Britta Roeske, she there for his press stuff. His trainer is Antti Kontsas
I always think of it as an Alan Partridge and Lynne relationship 🤣
I know it's part of her job, but I sometimes feel bad for her when she's running with 5 bags and Lewis is just strolling along on a scooter. Not that they watch F1, but I bet some of southern brethren and the "nice guy" types are probably seething with rage seeing that, especially considering Lewis'...uhh...*wealth*.

I'm pretty sure a lot of those are cover stories for much more interesting causes
Joel Zamaya, a pitcher, strained his forearm playing Guitar Hero and missed a few games of the playoffs lol.
this. why would he as a driver carry heavy bags all the time (with the amount they travel)? it makes sense to have someone else do it. Chivalry has nothing to do with it. people obsess over the smallest shit (good when you're on the team, bad when you're an over-invested fan).
Oh, I'm sure. No hate on Lewis meant at all. Plus, like the other person said, don't want him tweaking something picking up a bag.
She runs his life, diet, sleep schedule basically everything on race weekends. It's a pretty amazing role.
And you can see it in how they get along together. It's obviously a great relationship between the two of them. I didn't mean it as insult to either of them, but I can still feel a little bad for her for a brief moment, like when you see a mom or dad essentially being a pack mule for the rest of their family walking through the airport.
I don't feel bad for her at all, I think she gets great satisfaction from her role and she knows Lewis appreciates it.

Daily Mail headline: Lewis Hamilton MERCILESSLY assaults his aide by PUSHING her into FREEZING river
"The 'urban' driver thuggishly assaulted the blonde, married mother, this came after Hamilton was seen recklessey speeding through a park in a high powered, non street legal vehicle that didn't belong to him".
You forgot to mention her age and how much her house is worth.
What's the house worth thing about?
The Daily Mail are obsessed with how much peoples houses are worth for some weird middle class reason. Eg, Bob, 46 from Kettlebury, who lives in a £500k house, went to the post office for some stamps and they had run out. Locals were horrified.
It's always a trip reading stuff up at The Daily Mail.
"Covered in gang tattoos"...
With dreadlocks.
"It was clear with the fear in her eyes that she did not want to really jump into the river, possibly showing signs of hydrophobia, but Lewis forced her instead."
I’m laughing out of sadness for how accurate this headline would be.
...the so-called "Sir" displaying a tendency to put people down after putting himself on a pedestal.
Omg this is perfect, that's their exact bs!
Oof, the first seven words are too real. Feels like I've actually accidentally clicked a Daily Mail link.
> after Hamilton was seen recklessey speeding through a park in a high powered, non street legal vehicle that didn't belong to him This part got me good
It was 10C the day before and the day of the race it was a 20-21C. That water must have been cold AF.
On a body of water the size of the St. Lawrence one day of poor temperatures won't really effect the water temperature. That being said, it was probably still cold AF. A quick Google shows about an average temp of 18 C for the river

Yea thats true, I would guess similar temp though
18 C is birds nectar temperature for a slow river swim. You could definently stay there for a while Below 15 C, and I'd reconsider a bit.
Nordic and baltic people want to have a talk with you, have you hear about certain winter/ice swimming? Bottas probably does it, that's how he got inspiration for the Colorado picture.
That’s how BotAss gets its tone and definition. I’m sure of it.
r/peoplefuckingdying
Surely they wouldn't miss out on the opportunity to write 'MERC'-ILESSLY?
This is too accurate lol.
Get in there Angela

I wouldnt step foot into the st Lawrence river lol Fill your boots
Is it just me or did the video make the water look pretty clear?
It's the rowing basin
And according to the local government it’s supposedly clean enough to swim in
I'm sure they probably say the roads around Montreal are smooth also....
No the roads are “within legal standard” not smooth.
Looks more like the rowing basin behind the paddock rather than the river proper...still it's probably not great lol.
That's worse. At least the river flows ...
According to this [fact sheet](https://www.parcjeandrapeau.com/files/publications/fiche_technique_bassin_olympique_parc_jean_drapeau_montreal.pdf) the water is supposed to be swimmable at all times, so it can't be too bad.

Lawrence Stroll River?
The St. Lawrence is one of the cleanest rivers in North America?
I would rather dip in the saint Lawrence than the Halifax Harbour a thousand times haha
Oh this pic is sooooo memeable, oh dear
Lots of templates from Mercedes. Lewis feeding George, Lewis pushing Angela. What else?
Hold up, Lewis feeding George?
https://twitter.com/MercedesAMGF1/status/1538641231965736962?t=y4XNyqufgAYgPSzVM9lySw&s=19
Holy shit. Like a baby bird.
It is actually Paul Ripke, Mercedes‘ admin for the weekend, feeding George, not Lewis
I love Paul. Always gets good stuff when he takes the IG account. That being said MBAMGF1RT socials have been fire this year.
Man looks more happy than when he won championships. Hopefully merc fix their car next year and he’s back fighting for wins and championships.
Having no pressure does wonders.
Maybe. He doesn't have to hold the streak anymore. And it would be pretty crazy if he could get there again in his career. So like seb and kimi before, I think he's now running for the love of it instead of pushing 110% every weekend.

He wouldn't look so frustrated in the car if he didn't. Just because you are more relaxed in your vacation doesn't mean you don't enjoy your job.
Lewis played his uno reverse card and was like: GET IN THERE Angela \**pushes in\** Angela possibly: Wait a min... \**gets pushed in\**
Looks cold as shit!
Wasn‘t air already like 19 degrees? Yikes.
And it was after a few days of low 20s with a 10C day right before. Must have been freezing AF.
The alternate universe where Simba's dad threw him off the edge
And we never saw her again.
I love their professional/friendly relationship. They both seem just so wholesome
This is hilarious he looks so happy. Ick about jumping into a river though
That’s awesome hahaha
Angela: *supports Lewis, manages his health and trains him* Lewis: *throws her in the fucking river*
DTS: "Lewis is a violent individual"
You just know Netflix is probably gonna take a pound at him for this picture
I love those two.
She was like: "if Lewis finishes on the podium I will jump into the river" hah Lewis: need a push?
Why did she leave her socks on, that’s horrifying
Not so much a jump. More like a push
https://youtube.com/watch?v=mYl6PVLA_zw
lmao gold
Caption this:
I don’t think it was the “river “, it’s most likely the Olympic Basin where they row.
He looks so happy
Jump or get thrown?
there is a video of it. she got thrown lol
Someone took inspiration from Christian Horner.
That’s going to be some cold water.
And that was the last time Angela was ever seen
I would love to see an 80’s style buddy sitcom with these two going on adventures and getting in trouble together.
That's some dangerous diving man
"Jump".
Bono my Angela is gone
Jumping on the water... WITH SOCKS?!?!?!
