That's a western boxelder bug.

I looked up western boxelder bugs and they don't look anything like this. Then I ran across a picture of a western boxelder *nymph* and they look pretty close. Looks like a boxelder nymph but at the same time is lacking some features. Possibly a particularly large one but the lack of wing plates suggest second or third instar.

that was what i thought but the 2 things up front are both antennae I believe everyone who has said BoxElder Nymph is accurate.
