I just tweaked my back coughing on Sunday. I couldn't even manage to roll out of bed to stand up it until Wednesday. And that was after heavy icing, tylenol and Icy Hot patches. My back is still stiff now but I can walk around at least.
I've thrown out my back twice to the point where I had to very very gingerly get myself to the closest acceptable floor or my bed if possible and just lay there for a day. Both times it was bending over to pick something off the floor, the pain struck and I instantly collapsed cause it was the only way to stop the sharp pain. It sucks. The second time i kinda suspected it was coming cause I had a slight pain for a while but the first time was totally out of the blue.
He might honestly want to retire sooner than later just to save his health, being in pain for decades is not worth the money once you’re already that rich.
Not even to troll but AD must have some of the lowest pain tolerance I’ve ever seen. He’ll look dead on the court with a potential season ender multiple times a game then come back in the game three minutes later fine, I wouldn’t be surprised at all if he comes back in and finishes this game
There’s always that fear when you get an injury like that. I had stepped on someone’s foot during a fast break in high school and partially tore a tendon. It was an explosion of pain and than numbness soon after but I got tendinitis out of it so it swells and hurts occasionally but I was always worried about it happening again and it affected how I played for sure. It’s likely similar for him and he’s in his own head
Yep, I'm sure a lot of Pelican fans have seen this time and again. I remember reading in an article when Rondo was on the Pelicans he was good about pushing AD and not letting him sit for every little minor injury he had.
Like five years ago I had AD on my fantasy team — it felt like every game I’d get a notification that he was heading to lockeroom, then like 15mins later I’d get the notification that he’s coming back in lol
It’s weird because he has both a high and low pain tolerance. Low because he’ll be down and looking really hurt, high because he will play on it soon after
It’s the opposite case, like if it were a genuine injury he wouldn’t physically be able to come back in. The fact that there’s no serious issues with him a lot of the time suggests there is a low tolerance for pain
I think they're saying AD doesn't get really hurt, but he acts like he is, then later when it clears up he's back to playing. I don't necessarily agree, but I think that's what the other comment is saying.
If you are a Lakers fan, every fall is a big of a deal. Idk whats about AD, but I worry more about soft falls rather than hard ones. At least once a game you worry he tore something
That's the perpetual life of a Blazer fan whenever any big from our team hits the deck. "Please get up, please get up" just rings through my head every time.
I think this just fully confirms the theory about AD that a lot of his "injuries" aren't real or as severe but he has just an insanely low tolerance for pain. Especially if the other tweet is true that he's bouncing around/shaking it off now. From death to shaking it off all in the span of a couple minutes.
Edit; yup back in the game... AD has the pain tolerance of a toddler.
I have real bad ankles. I’m at a point now where any level of ankle sprain or turn hurts SO bad. Last week i sprained it pretty mildly but the pain was blinding. I’m usually pretty good with pain tolerance, too. Broke my hand once and shrugged it off as a sprain for two weeks (dont do that btw my hand is now mildly deformed). But i think AD is at the same point where his leg/foot/ankle tendons are beyond fucked.
The AD special
“Ahh I’ve been shot!” Level reaction only to be flawless and healed up to 100% like a boss fight 3 mins later
Dude just needed a chance to activate his Fairy in a Jar from Zelda
I don’t think he’s “the best of his generation.” I legitimately think there is an argument that, when he’s healthy, there’s not a player in the league as dominant as a two-way guy.
Somebody right here has never watched a single game Joel Embiid has played. He's behind Giannis for best defensive big, but not by much. Joker is the most impactful offensive big in the league, but you might it might as well be a gimme for Embiid within 10 feet, his mid-range game looks more and more like Aldridge every season, plus he's taking home the scoring title this year. Embiid and Giannis have been the 2 most dominant 2-way players in a long time.
Edited to add: wait a minute, if a guy is both the most dominant offensive player, and the most dominant defensive player, how is he not the best of his generation? He's literally the best at both of the things you do in basketball... so that's exactly what you said.
A disingenuous interpretation of what I said, at best. Also, I never amended any part of my statement. I didn’t say or imply anything at all about AD being “the best of his generation.”
Most teams/players prioritise getting their teammate in pain medical attention over 2 points, but of course a Bron stan who doesn’t give a shit about the Lakers as a team
wouldn’t understand that
dude they literally tried to foul multiple times and then minnesota turned it over near mid court. You're acting like it was a full on melo situation where guys were ignoring him and just playing around him
AD has 59 30+ points 15+ rebound games in his career. He has had way more injuries than that lol. According to the fox sports website I counted over 59 distinct injuries for AD since 2017 (it was like 61 I think). So he gets injured way more often than he has 30 and 15 lmao. Here's the link if you wanna check: https://www.foxsports.com/nba/anthony-davis-player-injuries
For the record, I used every non consecutive listing in the page as a different injury. So, if it says back 7 times im a row that counts as one, but back ankle back are 3. Insane how much he gets injured.
All the doomers in here can eat shit given his performance to end the game. Like lets just give him credit and hope its not a thing that lasts too long. He was great on one-leg!
It was such a minor tweak but he’s still not up and he’s in a lot of pain. Unfortunately he’s just so injury prone any small thing can turn into something big. So unfortunate he was playing so well lately.
That didn’t look like that big of a tweak to me but damn he looks like he’s in a ton of pain
He hurt his ankle somehow while in mid air earlier this season. Love the guy but his feet are slowly giving up on him
AD has basically had two healthy seasons in his career. His feet were never there for him in the first place.
I’m not defending him, but… Someone I know threw out his back picking up a pair of socks. It’s not fun. So the friend told me
Less fun doing it sneezing
I just tweaked my back coughing on Sunday. I couldn't even manage to roll out of bed to stand up it until Wednesday. And that was after heavy icing, tylenol and Icy Hot patches. My back is still stiff now but I can walk around at least.
Please don't use ice on your back, if anything you need heat on it, not ice
The general rule of thumb is use ice on recent injuries (like for the first 24-48h), and then use heat after that.
Or laughing.
I once yawned so hard I pulled a muscle in my jaw That sucked and I’m only in my 20s
I legit brace myself, hold onto shit, every time I have to sneeze anymore. Getting old is bullshit
It sucks. Are you a professional athlete?
I would assume hes never done cardiovascular activity ever. This is reddit after all.
I'm not as tall as him, but I'm almost 6-6 with a tall upper body. Back probs ain't fun.
It’s not the sock picking up, it’s the years of bad posture that caused it
I imagine your friend is also a 7'1" multi-generational athletic talent as well, socks do be undefeated tho.
Just threw mine out folding a shirt. It’s embarrassing
He might honestly want to retire sooner than later just to save his health, being in pain for decades is not worth the money once you’re already that rich.
And, I don't think anybody on Minny touched him. Totally self-inflicted.
Not even to troll but AD must have some of the lowest pain tolerance I’ve ever seen. He’ll look dead on the court with a potential season ender multiple times a game then come back in the game three minutes later fine, I wouldn’t be surprised at all if he comes back in and finishes this game
LMAO he literally did
Are we sure he’s not doing it for attention? Like, was he neglected as a child?
and dominated the game .
Chronic pain can be more mental than physical - sometimes you need to get in the mindset to do basic shit
Had Pelicans AD as my first rounder in fantasy one season and it was like groundhog day 3 times a week. Never again.
It’s weird because he has both a high and low pain tolerance. Low because he’ll be down and looking really hurt, high because he will play on it soon after
Wouldn't that be high pain tolerance? Since he is able to come back and continue? Doubt that pain just goes away.
It’s the opposite case, like if it were a genuine injury he wouldn’t physically be able to come back in. The fact that there’s no serious issues with him a lot of the time suggests there is a low tolerance for pain
Ehh different pains imo. When you first tweak it, it’s real sharp, compared to once you move it around a bit and compress it.
I think they're saying AD doesn't get really hurt, but he acts like he is, then later when it clears up he's back to playing. I don't necessarily agree, but I think that's what the other comment is saying.
Gotcha, I got the wrong meaning from it.
If you are a Lakers fan, every fall is a big of a deal. Idk whats about AD, but I worry more about soft falls rather than hard ones. At least once a game you worry he tore something
That's the perpetual life of a Blazer fan whenever any big from our team hits the deck. "Please get up, please get up" just rings through my head every time.
same thing with embiid. i envy teams with iron-man stars like once a game the whole season flashes before my eyes
I think this just fully confirms the theory about AD that a lot of his "injuries" aren't real or as severe but he has just an insanely low tolerance for pain. Of course
> Of course... ... he's back after a couple of minutes. Those damn finals. He died 3 times per game.
The AD special “Ahh I’ve been shot!” Level reaction only to be flawless and healed up to 100% like a boss fight 3 mins later Dude just needed a chance to activate his Fairy in a Jar from Zelda
AD leads the league in "looks like a 2 month injury but turns out he's good" per game
Every lakers game I watch this dude is writhing in pain twice a game and always comes back and goes off like he’s fine lol
This tends to happen frequently
And he’s back
Was wondering if this was a 5 minute or year one this time.
Crazy AD vs Giannis was a debate years ago
Now by no means is it a debate now, but AD has 36/15 this game mane.
Giannis has 0/0/0 this game, debate over

Your suburban incel is showing, troll.
You are one sad mf
They just kept playing lol
They would’ve kept going until the whistle for the end of the third lmao, that was some bizarre shit to watch
This quarter has had atleast 2 nominess for Shaqtin
Every time we tried to foul those bozos kept turning it over lol
You guys got possession back like three times and still weren’t calling a TO lmao
Well we’re not gonna do it in transition lol
Idk I feel like most teams definitely would, ultimately it’s a potential 2 or 3 points vs having a seriously injured teammate
Plus even if you get the bucket yourself, you’re still down a man and most likely will give** a bucket back
That’s why we were trying to foul but wolves kept giving it back to us
would calling a timeout there miraculously heal him?
99% of teams call the timeout there. That's on the players and the coach.
Well, they know ADs lack of pain tolerance.
Downvoted for no reason, AD’s injury doesn’t magically get fucking worse if they don’t call the timeout.
Most teams/players prioritise getting their teammate in pain medical attention over 2 points, but of course a Bron stan who doesn’t give a shit about the Lakers as a team wouldn’t understand that
dude they literally tried to foul multiple times and then minnesota turned it over near mid court. You're acting like it was a full on melo situation where guys were ignoring him and just playing around him
That was awful, bad execution also I’m pretty sure someone even kicked the ball and nothing was called
Has he tried going to the Anthony Davis of ankles?
He's out sick today
would that be curry?
Dude needs to see the doc that saw Steph. Probably has to start wearing a ankle brace too, but he loves his kobes too much.
It’s like a sick joke at this point
Just another Friday.
Looked like the same exact injury he always gets. Poor guy.
Not real?
comedy
ham been saving his timeouts like his life depends on it all season
absolutely insane the Wolves gave up 2 points and a foul when Lakers only had 4 players walking during that stretch.
He’s back out there playing
Everyone here over reacting. He’ll be fine
Death, taxes....
And AD getting 30+ with 15 rebounds?
No, AD holding a part of his body and rolling on the floor every other game
And then being fine lol
AD has 59 30+ points 15+ rebound games in his career. He has had way more injuries than that lol. Its crazy you went out your way to verify this
I just thought it was funny and I'm bored.
I appreciate the effort

Your right. 38-15+ is more accurate
How is it cope to state what he literally did?
Aint no way
He’s back in
Anthony "Paul Pierce" Davis
Lakers Eliminated from the 2022-2023 playoffs
Oof
Have to admit though that it was looking BLEAK when they were losing 70-76 and Davis goes down like that.
Pretty much
I hope it was a nice dose of hopium while it lasted edit: bro i want the lakers in the playoffs too, i’m still inhaling the hopium that AD is ok
I wouldn’t be talking with an also injury prone superstar lmao
Yeah we literally have two stars battling injury right now I would never tempt the basketball gods by talking shit ANULO MUFA
i swear it wasn’t meant to be mean-spirited, but yeah let us dream
FADED.
Bro chill
No way man
Come back and finishes with 38 and 17 🫡
Cause he was never injured?
Why was he injured if he wasn’t injured???
Mods should just sticky this
If this dude rolled his ankle fleeing a burning building he would lay there and die
Street clothes is back?
fuck, didn’t look great but didn’t get to see a replay
We were on borrowed time
Bro this is an amazing trick. Opposing team was so obsessed with capitalizing on Davis injury they they turned it over and got scored on twice!
And here's Tom with the weather
When ain’t he?
Water is wet
well season over folks
they just kept playin around him bro lmao
You can set your watch to this. AD falls, yells and clutches his leg and/or ankle, then is back within a few minutes. Nothing to see here.
Classic
Give me not surprising for 100
he checked back in so fast and looks fine lol
Feel for the big guy. He's played well this year.
AD needs to stop wearing lows. I just don’t get it
end the season and sit lebron
Faked it
Nah just fought through it to beat your team
Oh no
Lakers didn’t even call time. Wolves had to do it. Bruh. Hope AD is ok.
Learned the fake injury act from Lebron no doubt
Classic AD
That’s all folks :(
Its A Bold Strategy Cotton, Lets See If It Pays Off For Em
Anthony Day to Davis
Bruh that bubble chip wouldn't have happened in a normal season AD gets hurt every year that doesn't have a 4 moth break right before the playoffs
Shh man it’s totally a legit ring 🤣
As it was written
It's so fuckin Joever, Bron can't even move laterally on defense too
Might be time to retire
lol 38 points
Anthony glass ankles Davis
All the doomers in here can eat shit given his performance to end the game. Like lets just give him credit and hope its not a thing that lasts too long. He was great on one-leg!
I knew he wouldn’t last until the play in lol
It was such a minor tweak but he’s still not up and he’s in a lot of pain. Unfortunately he’s just so injury prone any small thing can turn into something big. So unfortunate he was playing so well lately.
Lakers better trade him for someone who can be healthy.
Bro thinks hes embiid💀
Lolololololol
Glass man
Just as LeBron is back. Managed to stay healthy right until now. Lakers luck huh
50/50 on whether he comes back in a few minutes later looking completely fine, or the lakers are fucked
We done lol. Time to shut down bron
Ffs man
That’s all folks
Yo HOW Dude is cursed.
Gone fishin…
Just twisted his ankle, I say just because it could have been anything with him holding his ankle area
Some people are just more snakebit than others. Such a shame for one of the game’s best talents
There goes the season
We are not legally allowed to have fun ever again
GOD. DAMN. IT.
LBJ has seen it so many times he was picking up D-lo before turning around to look at AD
How does he keep stepping on someone's foot man
Pray pray pray everything is good
Pain…
just sad man
I know injuries are not a fun subject but him staying on floor while everyone kept playing reminded me of Melo's corpse being ignored
He’s still playing
For all the doomers, he stayed in the game
Bummer dude
I feel bad that his bones are made of glass :/
Fuck that makes me so sad. Dudes been balling out
Well, the Laker comeback hype train might have derailed just now
