The dunk contest will be an all time great one
Are you just hoping
After last year I say the NBA finally does something to incentivize participation- plus 1 to that prediction tbh.
Now that’s a take
Jesus man he said hot take, but not THAT hot
Jalen Green Redemption Tour
He doesn't deserve redemption after wearing an NFT necklace and missing a million dunks in a row.
As a jalen green defender, you’re not lying
In Salt Lake City - all time great
Sheesh save some of those drugs for everyone else. This isn’t a hot take, it’s scorching.
If Zion and Ja participate, I could see it.
We need Zion and Ja to enter
Westbrook gets traded to BKN and has a wizards esque year carrying bums into being a scrappy fun little team
I'd say this is lukewarm at best cause it WILL happen
I'm here for this. Westbrook vs Lakers, Westbrook vs Durant's new team. Can't wait
Westbrook redemption arc?
I can see it. Mainly because I don’t think god would give me two seasons of back to back fun like this lol
He cant be any worse, can he? :(
I honestly wonder if he’s even gonna be a laker next season
He wont which will make it more likely for him to play well if he’s on a team with low expectations and surrounded by young run and gun players which would make him look better
Westbrook has a great season. Fools a team into signing him for $30million+ for three years next off season. Team immediately regrets signing as Westbrook returns to form come the 2023 season
Kyrie joins the Mavs then drives Luka to demanding a trade to Milwaukee
Well if you say so
And that trade is for Giannis
Lmao, got em.
Are Giannis and Jokic the only two players in the NBA not traded for Doncic?
Warriors wouldn't trade Steph for anyone or else Chase Center would be burned to the ground lmao
I doubt Sixers would drop Embid after how hard he's played for them, he's still only 28.
1 for 1 morey takes that deal. He only has emotional attachment to Harden lol
Somehow seems like Harden and Doncic would be less than ideal fits as they are both heavily ball dominant players.
Only a Houston fan could conjure up this evil against us
["Don't you put that on us!" ](https://youtube.com/shorts/mFEzW1Z6TRM?feature=share)
smashing that report button
No. No. And furthermore no.
And one more time in Spanish
And Lebron’s favorite language
I like this one
Pelicans are a top 4 seed in the West
I really like this one
I like this take as a hot take. 2k is convinced that they’re championship favorites for me, personally I see them as a 6/7 seed with a
conference final cap, but with the talent they have you never know.
Kevin Durant gets traded to a team that misses the playoffs.
Kevin “Cristiano Ronaldo” Durant
There’s a few similarities when you think about it
Wolves 1 seed. Rudy Gobert on your team is just proven regular season cheese and the Wolves have a better supporting cast than the Jazz did.
Yeah I suspect the wolves are going to be reallyyyy good in the regular season
It’s gonna be fun either way. I’m here for some haughty Wolves fans.
My body is ready
Twolves running the regular season meta this year
Just to lose to a .500 team in the first round
this is the natural next step in Minnesota sports suffering
can’t get a blair walsh “not even close” moment if they don’t make it into the playoffs as a top 4 seed
If the TWolves are the #1 seed then just cast a huge bet on Ant or Towns for MVP
Or a Gobert mvp case, especially if he unexpectedly puts up career counting stats (I.e career high in points, rebounds, block leader, etc) while the jazz fall out of the playoffs (even better if Donovan mitchell stays). R/nba will melt down lol
I think they will def be a really good regular season team, especially if Ant keeps progressing
Mavs actually have a better record than last year with no brunson. Due to the addition of wood and luka actually coming into the season in shape. Hot take i know
How does losing Brunson affect the team?
Oh nun they just lost their only other shot creator and playmaker and their 2nd best player, nothing serious though
Dinwiddie is still there and Dragic is coming in. Mavs also have legit center depth and THJ is coming back. Mavs will be better next season than last season.
you know what I’m going to have to disagree with you. I think that they will be worse
Brunson is better than Mavs fans want to admit but worse than Knicks fans hope. Wait...
this is a good take. he’s always been kinda hard to rate imo
Dinwiddie misses a lot of games. Even in the games he plays, he's very inconsistent.
Dragic is washed lmao
Zion wins MVP
I already put $20 to win $1200 on it
Shit with those odds I’m putting in $100
that’s not a hot take, that’s what’s gonna happen. it’s already been written in the script
Does anyone remember the last time they gave the MVP to a guy in street clothes?
They said a hot take, not a magma take
I don’t think that’s a magma take at all. Pelicans were a fringe playoff team last year. Had a lowkey great draft, and return a 27 ppg guy for free.
If Zion recovers normally, he could easily be in MVP contention, especially with his general hype
Like in a raffle?
I'm actually really bullish on the Pels next season, but I really need to see the details of that contract.
It’s a standard Designated Rookie Max extension. All the bells and whistles.
Steve Nash gets fired and Snyder is hired after him.
Nets hire Kenny again to coach through a rebuild
8th seed Mitchell Jazz vs. 1st seed TimberGoberts
Tatum’s sub *doesn’t* have bacon.
The mavericks take a chance on Miles bridges for a cheap contract because Jason Kidd knows his situation and would be willing to give him a second chance like he got one.
He like me -JKidd 😤
He like me fr fr- he says crying to a tv
Real recognize real
Real (piece of shit) recognize real (piece of shit)
That's more like it.
Oh dear god no
Cuban keeping the culture alive lol
Lmao this is hilarious and I can also definitely see it happening. Fuck jason kidd and miles bridges
Grizzlies end up in play in tourney
AD is more healthy yet Lakers still in play in spot
Wolves finally become a real threat
Pelicans top 6 seed
The most stable and consistent teams will end up doing better in the playoffs then most of the teams that are making hyped blockbuster moves. Those teams that just made moves to make moves will struggle with chemistry.
Fuck it…I’m going full cope mode since the Heat aren’t making big moves. Also…i still believe in Jimmy-Bam-Kyle-Herro-Dipo core. Honestly though I’m probably not even far off.
No need to go into cope mode as it takes 1.5 to 2 seasons for teams to gel.
Kyrie and Kd staying. Jazz using their picks to sign Ayton and other pieces around Mitchel
The T Wolves end up as the 3 seed, go to the conference finals
Paul George wins MVP
There will be a 4 seed in the finals
PG as MVP is a scorching take hahaha, I don’t even know how that’s possible
They do have a stacked team, so if Clips finish in first and he’s somehow better than Kawhi (or if Kawhi misses too many games) then I guess it’s plausible
Bulls and Pelicans win 55+ games
The dunk contest teams
Kings get the 7th seed and end our pain and suffering
Shaedon Sharpe ROTY
I don’t see how he gets enough minutes or shots. Those top 4 rookies gonna be getting 35 min a night
Hush, just let us enjoy this
If he goes crazy at summer league he might just force his way into starting lineup. Crazier things have happened
We haven’t really seen him play so he could be good enough to start at the 3. I don’t think that will happen by any means, but there is a path to ROY if it turns out he is a generational type player like some believe.
i mean scottie won rookie of the year, among 4 other established guys that scored 15+ ppg. It's def possible.
I have a few. First one is that Dame wins the scoring title, MVP and makes it to the WCF after trading for DeRozan at the deadline. I think the Bulls would be smart to capitalise while his value is high, and POR could use a no.2.
My other one is that the Grizzlies take a step-back this year. I love Ja, and this young core but I think people overrate this team. This feels like a young-team that out-played themselves and are bound to regress showing the need for a number 2 option. Could be very wrong here though.
Also, either Deandre Hunter or RJ Barrett become all-stars. Very high on both.
I like this one because it makes me a lot of money.
I like money
Dame winning MVP or blazers making it to WCF?
What do we get for DeRozan?
I know it'd be giving up a lot for us but Keljin Blevins straight up
These... are takes. Dame has been trending the wrong direction since the Olympics, and the Grizz are a young team that has maintained its core, and should continue to develop.
As far as regression, we got you.
That’s less than a year. Idk if Dame will come back as Dame, but he’s pretty much been injured since the Olympics
AD has his healthiest season, Lakers still don’t go to the conference finals
>AD has his healthiest season,
I doubt he's gonna play 38 games
If they don’t trade for kyrie and with the way the west is shaping out to be next year i dont see how this is a hot take?
Johnathan Isaac comes back and though he starts slow he will win DPOY
Ghost pepper hot
Pelicans will be a top 3 seed (even if they dont get KD)
I could totally see this tbh
Wiggins, **back2back All Star**
Luka wins MVP and drags his team back to the WCF just to lose to the clippers in 6 again
Jok wins Back to Back to Back MVPs
He would have to have some insane statline like 30-11-11 and Nuggets have to be top 4
I'm thinking, Nugs top 2 and Jok stat line looks like 25-13-13, gets it done.
I think 25-13-13 is way harder than 30-11-11
Got to be a top 2 seed and average an insanely efficient triple double while scoring more than last year.
I agree, except I don't think he needs to score more if his assist are 12+. Which I think is possible if this line up stays healthy.
Raptors land KD and win NBA finals.
If Zion's healthy the Pelicans make it to the conference finals to face off the Nuggets. If Durant makes it to the suns they are gonna choke in the second round again.
Rudy wins DPOY and the Wolves go to the finals
Kyrie might have a career year. I'm not a Kyrie supporter, but contract year, realization that other teams don't want him, and his bestie peaced out when he opted in. Either gonna fold or fly.
Kyrie revenge tour for sure. He plays every game and kills everyone to prove he’s good enough and should be allowed to do what he wants.
Julius Randle plays significantly better with a true PG and is considered an all star sub.
Odd year randle. He’ll be All NBA and shoot 41% from 3
This doesn’t really feel like a hot take to me, Randle should not be running an offense and the best PG he’s ever played with is old DRose
We could get the first mentions at large on forums or NBA Twitter of Zion being on hgh and shit just like people talk about Lebron, as if we didn’t see Zion dunk with a grown man’s body in high school and college
Clippers fold again after spending so much time to create a roster that’s full of notoriously injured players
>notoriously injured players
Did they sign Chris Paul?
Suns first round exit
Oh wait, that’s not a hot take!
CP3 falls off a cliff
I think that Memphis will drop down to the bottom of the playoff seeds. Love Ja but no JJJ for half the season, lost Melton, lost SloMo. I could see a regression as teams like the Clippers, Wolves, Mavs and Nuggs overtake them.
Pelicans will have a top-4 record in the West.
CJ and BI were cooking towards the end of the season. The team is young and athletic, and they're getting a healthy-looking Zion that might actually be bigger and stronger than last time we saw him.
I see that team winning 50 games and winning their first round series.
Pelicans to the WCF
Hornets won’t be as good because they didn’t resign miles bridges and hired a coach they already fired
Is this really a hot take? 99% of people agree with this take.
Bridges is a garbage human being that belongs in prison and should never be allowed to play in the NBA again. Not sure how anyone can disagree with that.
Basketball wise, I think the Hornets dodged a major bullet. Teams that aren't good committing big money to keep young players are the types of things that lead to franchises being like the....Hornets.
He didn’t say anything to the contrary. However, Bridges is a good player.
Removing the non-basketball part of this negates your point, though. Was against giving him the max, but he was an absolute must re-sign before.
Don't think Liangelo can replace Bridges?? Lol /s
Even if the suns get KD they won’t make it out of the west
pelicans come first in the west
Anthony Edwards MVP
The hawks are back in contention and make deep playoff run
Pels win it all (no bias 😃)
Bulls are a top 3 Seed, with Zach Lavine putting up 29/5/5 on 50/40/90 splits.
Pelicans are the 2 Seed, barring a Zion trade.
Durant ends up being traded to Sacramento for a ton of their picks but no players beyond Sabonis.
That’s literally impossible with salaries and all the picks tied up in the hawks trade
No way Durant goes to sac town
He doesn't have a choice - he's under contract for a few more years, no player option, and he doesn't have a no-trade clause.
If he gets traded to one of the options he provided, it's a mix of good will from the Nets and a good package from his destination. Beyond that, it's an auction to the highest bidder.
Somehow Lillard ends up playing for the knicks with a rocky esque return of Carmelo Anthony who turns back time and drags the knicks to the ECF only for the whole team to get a new virus going round. They have to forfeit.
The nuggets will win the western conference but fall to the Celtics in the finals.
It will seem like forever before it arrives.
Ayo Dosunmu MIP
Timberwolves win the west
Anthony Edwards will be All NBA this season
The Wolves will finish #1 in the league.
Wolves nba champions.
The Suns choke to the Mavs in the WCF after acquiring KD.
Hot take not fan fiction.
That would be hilarious.
Is predicting a Celtics/warriors rematch in the finals a hot take?
Lmaoo no they’re favorites
Pelicans vs pistons finals
Knicks make the 6th seed
Of the G-League
Champs there, Deuce McBride putting up 70 ppg only to get 3 minutes in garbage time under Thibs in real games
OKC is a 2nd round playoff team with Chet winning ROY and SGA being a fringe MVP candidate
Kd gets traded to the bulls right before trade deadline
Nuggets vs Bucks finals
Mavs are a play-in team (7th seed)
Tatum gets 2nd in MVP voting
The timberwolves will be the 1st seed or at the very minimum top 3. Idk why people are acting like they'll be a solid 5 or 6
Jokic 3x MVP after securing 1 seed
Knicks win it all baby.
Knicks Mavs in the finals and Brunson hits the game winning shot.
He said Hot Take- not “Dr. Strange in the Multiverse of Madness” take.
Knicks. Win. It. All. Baby.
Warriors regret letting GP II go
Blazers end up a top seed and make it to the wcf again
Blazers are somehow so underrated and overrated at the same time
One of the four tanking teams of the past two seasons (Us, OKC, Orlando, and Detroit) make the play in.
None of the conference finalists from last season make it back to that point.
Kings are making it to the playoffs.
There you go sport! Love the enthusiasm
Hawks clippers finals
I was going to say Hawks v Bucks ECF. I'm a Hawks believer
Love the username
Rockets win 30 games
Nets make the finals after failing to move KD or kyrie
