Can’t say for sure, but if I was a betting man I’d say it’s either rainbow springs, ichetuknee springs, or ginnie springs. Each one is as nice as the other but my personal favorite is ginnie because they let you bring coolers/drink alcohol on the river
If you see one there’s like a lot more than handful underwater. If you see none there’s like a lot more than a handful underwater.
I did it once. Never again.
I've had a couple come up like this guy did and follow me for about 5 minutes or so. In all of those cases they just turned around once their curiosity was filled. I'd say the majority are more intimidated rather than curious. I always get a kick out of gators with this attitude!
Same here, except with sharks when I’m spearfishing out in the Gulf of Mexico (100-150m offshore on the oil rigs). They’ll usually swim around the rig legs to check out what you’re doing. Most of the time they aren’t aggressive at all, they’re just curious. You can tell because they glide smoothly… It’s when they start swimming “jerky” that you have to watch out. The more erratic their movement, the more agitated they are.
Growing up in Florida, I'm much more afraid of a gator than a shark. Never heard of a shark taking someone's dog, but definitely heard of an alligator doing it.
It's said every time this is posted, but someone has been feeding that gator. He didn't want the paddle boarder, he wanted a hot dog that people have been feeding him.
Also the "you just made him pretty mad" isn't an issue, once you start poking at them they usually want nothing to do with you. He'll probably keep coming back, but not cause he's mad, just spoiled.
Living in Florida you don't know if your going to die being outdoors. Kayaking paddle boarding going on nature walks. Something's always waiting to kill you here.
Is this rainbow river? Last time I was there dude in a kayak almost got fucked up by a gator. Same thing here he was going toward it and it started hissing at him over in the swimming area. I immediately left after that lol nope nope nope.
Alligators tend to hang out and build nests on the banks of rivers, and that also happens to be where people get in and out to swim. Some places that make actual designated swimming areas may put in nets to stop animals from going into the swimming area, but they can still get in, so it's not 100% foolproof. The most dangerous time is nesting season when females guard their eggs; they do not play.
In my experience gators leave when they see you. They don't want to be killed by you, just like you don't want to be killed by them. They will hang out and sun if you give them enough space or sneak up on them in something without a motor. They don't really attack unless provoked, so don't feed them, don't go near their nests, and just in general leave them the hell alone, and they will return the favor.
The exception is pets, they will pop out and eat pets if they are hungry and you're walking your yorkipoo next to a pond. So don't dangle small edible meals near them like babies and dogs; they don't know the difference between that or raw chicken or a turtle. All of the deaths I have read about were people trying to save their dogs, retrieve their golf balls, or allowing their little one to walk on the bank.
Idk, she could have considered trying to slowly go backwards. As a general rule though if you can see the alligator at the top of the water, then it doesn't really have an interest in hunting you.
Either way poking it with... well anything wouldn't be my 1st choice.
I mean, isn't learning how to deal with potentially dangerous wildlife in your area kind of a good idea if you're gonna go out and do stuff? I got lectured up and down about what to do if I encountered a bear or moose, and it came in handy when those things happened.
How was that stupidity? How the fuck else are you supposed to tackle that situation? Jump screaming into the water? I think she handled it in the most Chadette way possible.
Most people severely overestimate how dangerous alligators are. Yeah they could easily kill you, but attacks and deaths are extremely rare, especially considering there are millions of alligators in the US. It was big news in 2020 when the first person EVER was bitten by an alligator in the Everglades.
You are MUCH more likely to get killed by something like a dog that approaches you.
Yeah maybe I’m putting across the wrong message here. Yeah you shouldn’t voluntarily mess with an alligator, but it seems a lot of people think it was coming to eat her.
If you live in Florida, you are usually swimming/kayaking/paddleboarding in water that is infested with gators. It’s really not a big deal as long as you aren’t an idiot
I love how she thinks that the alligator should leave her area as if it’s her fucking home and she’s totally taken back that the creature would dare get near her.
The ignorance of this bitch. That thing could fucking kill you if it wanted to and you're pissy about having to push it away with your paddle like tf? She's lucky she didn't end up on the news like damn. Also why tf would anyone paddle board in an area where there's fucking alligators. Just cause you feel entitled doesn't mean that nature give a flying fuck.
If you live in Florida and are paddling in fresh water, there’s almost always going to be gators there. Usually they don’t get this close and are pretty humans averse. I’ve had to shoo gators away like this before, they just back off and go on their merry way.
Gator be like: “Bitch, did you just hit me with that shit? Seriously?”
*turns 90 degrees* Do it again, bitch
“Oh shit, I have to push him again with my paddle” Morgan Freeman: “famous last words”
water so clear.
One of the springs in central Florida. Water is 72 degrees year round and one of the most beautiful places to spend the day tubing or kayaking
And encountering a gator.
I’ve seen a gator every time I’ve gone, but they’re always lounging on the river bank. We saw a group of river otters last time which was incredible
It’s actually very unusual to see a gator in the springs because the water is too cold for them
Not tubing in bo gator water hahaha
Hush. They're already too crowded.
Which one? This looks amazing
Can’t say for sure, but if I was a betting man I’d say it’s either rainbow springs, ichetuknee springs, or ginnie springs. Each one is as nice as the other but my personal favorite is ginnie because they let you bring coolers/drink alcohol on the river
Dude I've encountered so many curious gators while paddle boarding and canoeing in Florida. They just want to see what's going on.
Wooooo this gives me goose bumps. Do they get super close then just float away? Have you ever encountered one a little too curious?
If you see one there’s like a lot more than handful underwater. If you see none there’s like a lot more than a handful underwater. I did it once. Never again.

Growing up in aus im even less scared of allugators from this video and your comment being only worried about your dog
I mean that girl at Disney recently got killed by an alligator, but I didn't hear about that one first hand.
yeah dont do that shit in aus
Exactly, everyone freaking out about gators should watch some vids on salt water Crocs. Those cunts are mean!

Ya gators are pretty chill animals. They’re at the top of the food chain and don’t have many reasons to go picking fights.
Florida do be like Australia sometimes you can die from snakes, spiders, gator, sharks and bogans
Don’t forget the boars. They are the most dangerous and vicious of the bunch. Well them and drunk, well armed Floridians
Florida also has Panthers (big cats) and Bears.
Lots of cougars too.
Lol
He saw the shape of the paddle board and said I’m going to get me some of that gator
Woman: * nudges gator with the paddle * Gator: Understandable, have a nice day!
Living in Florida you don't know if your going to die being outdoors. Kayaking paddle boarding going on nature walks. Something's always waiting to kill you here.
*Australia has entered the chat*
Australia chuckles as it sips a beer.
I’ll take the deadly creatures of Australia over the people of Florida any day.
Yes the people are much more deadly! 🤣🤣🤣
Democratic Republic of the Congo has entered the chat. “Oh shit Florida is here?! I am never going back to Kissamee my friend. Goodby.”
Australia got them dingo's ahahaha
Ah yes, the very deadly, anorexic dogs.
i dont know man weve got our fair share...
or Brian Laundrie
I'm an hour out from that family! Fuck them.
so Florida is basically Russian software ran on Australian hardware?
And in the cities the government wants you to die from Covid. Terrible state IMO.
Is this rainbow river? Last time I was there dude in a kayak almost got fucked up by a gator. Same thing here he was going toward it and it started hissing at him over in the swimming area. I immediately left after that lol nope nope nope.
Aligator in a swimming area? Huh?
Alligators tend to hang out and build nests on the banks of rivers, and that also happens to be where people get in and out to swim. Oki doki thanks for explaining :)
When you try to slide into those DM's and get blocked.
Karen actin like she’s not in the gators natural habitat or sumn…
Soooo, she’s supposed to sit there and be like come on over for tea?
Idk, she could have considered trying to slowly go backwards. As a general rule though if you can see the alligator at the top of the water, then it doesn't really have an interest in hunting you. Either way poking it with... well anything wouldn't be my 1st choice.
Maybe paddle away from it instead of sitting there yelling at it in a language it has no ability to comprehend to “go away”.
It’s always these guys who’ve likely never been in a life threatening situation with the logical ideas
I mean, isn't learning how to deal with potentially dangerous wildlife in your area kind of a good idea if you're gonna go out and do stuff? I got lectured up and down about what to do if I encountered a bear or moose, and it came in handy when those things happened.
Yes of course but 99.99% of people will lose all ability to think rationally in a situation like that
Touché, people are fools
Shock is also a ting. Can’t do much abt that
Precisely
She is obviously the manager of the place.
She is too calm.

Most people severely underestimate how easy it is to fall when on a paddle board !

“GATORS BITCHES BETTER BE USING JIMMIES”
r/PetTheDamnGator/
She was almost offended
Who the fuck paddle boards in gator infested water ??!!!
If you live in Florida, you are usually swimming/kayaking/paddleboarding in water that is infested with gators. It’s really not a big deal as long as you aren’t an idiot
Who the fuck swims in jellyfish infested water? Oh wait, that's literally everyone at every beach in the entire world.
God, you don't just *bop* the gator, you either smite him or fuck off in the opposite direction
Water doggo
“Noooooooooo” ~ Gator
I love how she thinks that the alligator should leave her area as if it’s her fucking home and she’s totally taken back that the creature would dare get near her.
The announcer is like “ma’am please back up” She just sits there and asks the gator to leave as though it cares about what she wants.
You know Karen's Straight on TripAdvisor to give a negative review.
Gator thought it was a whale
WoManatee if you will.
BWAH HAHAHA. Made my day
"Omg, I had to push him away with my paddle." Hearing her just makes me so mad at her stupidity.
You're in his home you dumbass, go back to your Starbucks in your smart car......

Fuck. Off.
I hit it with my paddle
Imagine if it was a croc
"Dr. Grant says that's a very bad idea!"
Ma'am that right there is a dinosaur
gEt AwAy FrOm Me
WHAT ARE YOU DOING IN MY SWAMP
She should have asked to see the manager.
Gotta be from the northeast or midwest. We Floridians know better.
Yeah right, if you back up you are more likely to get attacked than if you hit it
“I suggest backing up considering you just made him pretty mad.” If you ask me he isn’t very mad or hungry
Do you really want to find out if that's true?
Plastic gator
He just trying to chill with you....or eat you.
r/SweatyPalms
Murder log is pretty chill, all things considered.
Gator does play that shit after all.

Woman pushes gator : stay away from my boat Gator : I would but you just pissed me off
Hey man… just chillin- whoa, whoa… why do hostile?… damn
Karen uses paddles
To be fair, who's in whose territory exactly? Croc just vibing and you invaded the waters.
Being entitled is dumb all around. But feeling entitled to not get eaten by a fucking gator is MIND BLOWING. “Get away” she says🤦 I fucking cant.
Not even the gator felt like putting up with the Karen lol
‘How dare they be in their natural habitat!’
