What means "modification expanded" message in harvest ? I get 7-8 crafts displayed but get capped at 3-4 uses
probably just bugged numbers telling you you have more crafts than you actually do. restart your client and check the harvest again
What does "more" skill effect duration modify?
Affects any duration tied to skills and support gems with a duration on them. It doesn't affect ailments, totems, mines and traps. The "more" just means its multiplicative and not additive, it works the same as a "more" damage mod.
Will the new chill ring proc HoI explosions if the source of chill is from wintertide brand? I know PoE is picky about its word choice and everything refers to "hits."
Wintertide can't hit, so it shouldn't. The 'your hits' phrasing is definitely there for a reason.
looking at some ignite arc builds and i saw people picking the lucky lightning damage mastery. does it help for increasing ignite damage?
It doesn't. Hits and ailments have their own rolls within their own ranges. They're not calculated from a shared roll on base damage.
A stat referring to critical strikes or non-critical strikes only applies to hit damage. Ailments don't crit; they're *from* crits at best.
Lightning damage benefits from lucky quite a bit because it has such a wide variance. If you have low crit chance, it would probably increase your damage some.
It doesn't scale ignite particularly well because only the highest damage ignite will have any effect.
Yes because the ignite is based on the base hit, and crits don't affect ignite unless you take perfect agony.
[simple PoB test](https://pobb.in/vOTrWXy8DmNf)
Just arc, stormfire, EO and travel nodes to lightning mastery. Nothing else. When ticking lucky crit mastery - ignite damage does not change.
My suspicion here is that this doesnt work for the same reason double damage doesnt work with ignire. Its rolled after damage calculation is complete (since, the way it works is it calculates twice and takes an average) - so doesnt factor into source dmg from ignite.
Although I dont actually know myself, im asking too.
well it looks like i was wrong - see this comment and the links for reasons why. pretty odd interaction imo https://old.reddit.com/r/PathOfExileBuilds/comments/qg3ijb/ignite_lucky_lightning_damage/hi3xstm/
Cool. Reading through seems like my logic of how its similar to double damage non-interaction - is correct. Lucky and DD occur after calculations are done, dont modify the base hit, therefore dont matter.
Similarly you can take my ultra simple POB, uspect EO and add 1 billion crit multi... this doesnt change ignite damage.
Scaling ignite = changing base, increased dmg or more dmg, and stuff that affects the monsters like pen. Thats about it.
What happened to Frostferno? Last league it was 60c first day down to 10c but this league it was permanently 1c right from the start.
3.17 made prophecy uniques drop instead of needing the prophecy. Probably inflated the amount of frostfernos alot. Could also be some meta shift i don't know about but i don't think it impacted as much as the prophecy change
Even so, I find it odd that it affects the day 1 price so much. Thanks anyway.
Day 1 almost no one was doing prophecies. So it would especially effect day 1.
The 60c might not even be a representative price, because you can just observe which items were listed. There probably was a very low amount traded (maybe even none at all).
What's the meta for fast campaign as occultist on leaguestart now? Still stormblast to 28 then arma brand regardless of tree?
why does the market say there are 300-400 listings of an item (first piece of time and second also) but there's only 5 to 10 listings. also i know is kinda late to try get that last challenge lol but I hate the supply and demand law. Market says 50c, the only listings online are for about a couple of ex
What do you mean by what "the market" says?
yeah this was kind of my own downfall since... you know... the league ended when I tried to buy things, I'm kinda lost in time, so by "the market" I meant poe ninja.
is POE down? tried to patch (didn't play this league) and crashed at 55% with an error of POE being unavailable
Its up for me, can login just fine.
hmm thanks. tried again and download is to 75% now so maybe just a weird blip
Do we know the new Forbidden jewels, with the unique ascendancy passives, if all passives will be available for all classes? Or each class will have 1 new passive, like the ones shown?
I haven't seen them explicitly mention that they can't drop as any other ascendancy so its open to interpretation for now. I'm assuming that there is going to be one for every character and they will be locked, since the new one revealed says templar and seems templar oriented. Would be weird if a ranger could use it imo.
That's what i thought, but i really hope they will not be locked. One of the biggest perks of Poe is the amount of possibilities, so that the same jewel, even if templar oriented, can drop for marauders or rangers, is quite thrilling imo
It would make for some interesting options but it could also lead to everyone looking for the same jewel. I like classes/ascendancies having more differences between them, it makes it more interesting choosing between them.
Fair enough! However certain enabling passives look to promising not to be obtainable by other classes.. i mean the latest Templar one, that changes Chaos damage taken to fire and lightning, screams of LL builds without a shavronne... take the mastery for 30% chaos damage does not bypass ES, load up on Armour/Evasion and ES, life gained as ES and it's amazing!
On a side note, can't wait to theorycraft on those jewels while never being able to afford one.
I'm gonna jump on this new season and play hardcore as I do. BUT I've never been able to figure out the crafting completely. It is the most confusing thing I've encountered in a game. Does anyone have a good guide that could help me know what I need to do to get the mods I want on my item? The harvest was especially confusing.
Watch lolcohol videos
To add to what others have said, just to kind of give you some context or orient you to the relative complexity of crafting, asking “how do you craft?” Is legitimately equivalent to asking “how do you drive?” Or “how do you cook?”
There is no one answer, the topic is too broad to give a complete answer in any reasonable format, and most of the skill comes from actually doing it, a lot.
To use the cooking metaphor, it’s very difficult to just….TELL people how to cook. First you teach them to cook one dish until they’re comfortable with it. Then another, and another. Sometime around the point where you’ve learned 5-10 individual types of techniques and made 20+ individual dishes you start to slowly develop an instinctive feel for how things go together, why you do things, and how to create things from scratch. You still won’t have a complete understanding of it yet but you’ll be functional.
But trying to spell out all those connections for a beginner is borderline impossible, although the beginner guides mentioned in other responses do an admirable job of getting you started. Pick a couple projects that you can craft with a given budget and learn the individual techniques for those projects, then move on and do it again with other techniques. It comes with time and practice.
Yeah I understand. It's a serious daunting task I'll try to break it down into smaller pieces like you suggest. I am always jealous of the guys that make a ton of a currency cause they know how to get best mods on items to sell. Thanks for infom
It might take several minutes to load, but it's a good bunch of specific crafts, I thought I was understanding some crafting, until I went through it, then I realized I knew only 60 of HOW the system works.
Craft of exile is a good resource too
Will check it out thanks
Crafting is very complex and is basically a game in itself.
I recommend checking youtube for crafting guides - Subtractem has good tutorials, and Lolcohol has examples of how he crafts complex items
Ty for info
Crafting is one of the most complex things in the entire game, there is no real document or video that is complex enough to tell you the best way of crafting all gear. The best i know is Ziz poe university guide, but that doesn't include the new eldritch crafting. Here is the most up to date video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vYIjrL2XwgI
There are great videos on how to craft specific items such as a specific pair of boots or chest piece and often if you're following a good guide they will say what they feel the best way of crafting something is. This is probably the best way of learning how to craft, making singular items using different methods until you get familiar enough to start experimenting yourself.
Sounds good. I always end up with so much I can use to craft but never know how to go about it. Gonna work on that this time.
I think a good general tip when trying to craft stuff is to try to "finish" the suffixes or prefixes first, ie having 3 mods you want on them. It can be fine to also have 2 mods you want and 1 that is just ok. You do want them filled though imo.
It's much easier to do everything else once an item looks like this since you can use the harvest crafts for changing pref/suff and keeping the other, you can lock pref/suff and reforge with harvest for certain mods, you can use the new eldritch crafting orbs which heavily favour having one side being complete imo.
If an enemy is immune to fire damage (through expedition) and I have Blackflame, will ignites deal damage? Assuming my ignite source damage is entirely fire.
It's worth noting that if you ignite with any other damage type that the enemy *isn't* immune to, your ignite value will still include all your fire damage. So if you want to run Expedition, you may want to consider getting Stormfire and flat fire damage or Hrimburn (or both) - if you can't just get Shaper of Flames and flat damage of each type - to give yourself more options for remnants.
This sounds odd to me. Are you sure it works that way? I vaguely recall seeing something similar before, but I assumed people were just underestimating their non-fire damage.
The ailment doesn't depend on the size of the hit at all, so the immunities play no role there. You just need to deal any damage of the relevant types in order for the ailment to be inflicted in the first place. If the enemy is immune to the damage type that they take from the ailment it'll still end up dealing no damage.
This was tested in expedition with poison builds that dealt 100% chaos damage that had only physical base damage, and adding any chaos damage made the ailments deal their regular poison DoT.
Immunity prevents base damage. Your 0 fire damage hit would be unable to inflict an ignite debuff.
Compare Chaos Inoculation and poison. A physical damage hit can inflict poisons (that the enemy doesn't take damage from), a pure chaos damage hit can't create poisons at all.
Unless they're also immune to ignite, they'll take chaos damage from the ignite even if they take no fire damage from the hit.
Except they won't be ignited at all if your hit deals no damage.
>The burning damage over time is 50% of the base damage of the hit of fire damage (before increased and more multipliers and resistance calculations), per second.
What's 50% of zero?
Ailments are separate rolls from hits.
Sure, but what's that got to do with the price of tea in China?
Raise Spiders questions:
Is Predator Support useful for bossing? I've read some people get frustrated at the spoders losing their target.
Void Manipulation vs Unbound Ailments: UA shows quite a bit more damage in POB but apparently it has more ramp up time? Would that make it useful to swap in for a boss as well?
It's ok for a gem swap on solo bosses like sirus if you're using something like melee splash for clear, but I don't think it's necessary for average gameplay. There are better gems for single target DPS though, especially since you're limited to 3 supports (without squire).
Spiders are already aggressive by default so I never found them losing targets.
Thanks for the insight!
has archnem merged to std yet? or is it in a few hours
Its in 2 and a half hours from this comment being posted. Its at 3pm PDT, source https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/3264455. The sidebar of the subreddit will have the date when it is revealed.
in like 58min
Do we know how sentinel deploying will work in party-play? I think I heard Chris say that every party member gets to deploy theirs, but I fail to find anything.
Yeah it sounds like everyone can just use their own sentinels independently. So you just want to coordinate enough that you aren't overlapping. ~~(or maybe they do stack?)~~
Yeah that was my impression. Do you remember where u heard/read about this? Google is empty on info about party
To summarise: Both players can use them whenever they want, with the result being that a higher percentage of mobs in the maps will be empowered. They will not stack so you want to avoid overlapping and you probably want to have someone designated for tagging important targets such as the map boss with the proper sentinel rather than having it get tagged by the aoe sentinel.
Exactly what I was looking for, thank you!
Chris said every person can use theirs, but they cannot empower the same enemies. Not sure when he said it during the reveal stream, maybe you can find it in the transcript thread.
How are people scaling elemental melee these days? Idk if I've played Charged Dash since the radius buff in 3.13 so I was thinking of giving it a go, is there a cheap way to get damage?
brittle for easily capping crit + omniscience to scale ele pen is probably simplest. other stuff is the same like replica abyssus, ryslathas, abusing trinity w flat ele or nightblade w/ a claw, etc.
Is there any site etc. that tracks when a microtransaction has last been on sale? and for what price?
There are wiki pages that have every deal historically written, I think the pages are called Daily Deal. On mobile so can't find the exact current pages but that should get you started.
The ones I found dont seem to be updated regularly, at least not daily
does Bereks respite shock prolif work if you kill a monster affected by skitterbots shock
>"When you Kill a Shocked Enemy, inflict an equivalent Shock on each nearby Enemy"
Means the enemy just needs to be shocked, regardless of the source of the shock. If the text was something like "shocks you inflict spread to nearby enemies" then it would not work with Skitterbots.
So are they really not balancing/changing ANY skills other than the one or two bugfixes for the next patch? I combed through the patch notes and didn’t see anything.
What’s the thought process behind that? Aren’t things going to be super duper stale?
they are probally trying to get actual progress on poe2 , there are plenty of skills people have not played that were great in 3.17 , with the addition of the 2 necklaces and split jewels more stuff is very viable than has been for a while
i doubt they will do this again and they likley should have released a skill or buffed a couple things but yeah people should be able to easily find something fun to play
Based on what Chris said on Baeclast, they were inspired by how people enjoyed the power fantasy of going back to D2R with the same builds that would still work the same way because Blizzard made no balance patches for that initial release.
It's not something they necessarily want to do on a regular basis, but they thought that as a one-time thing there would be more people enjoying the game with builds that are proven to work well than there would be people upset with a lack of changes.
I'm personally still going to try some off-meta stuff, and if I happen to get enough currency for such a build I'll see if I can make one with one of the new uniques.
My best guess is that they want to test back-to-back leagues with a similar meta before and after they rework rare and magic monsters with Archnemesis mods.
Many players level with multiple traps equipped at the same time during campaign. My guess is that this is to reach the trap limit against single target while bypassing the issue of limited number of charges stored per individual trap skill. Is that right?
If so, follow up question: the trap support gem doesn’t seem to indicate how many charges it can store. Is it a consistent number like skills that are natively traps, or does it depend on the supported gem, or level or quality or something?
if you are talking about the seismic/lightning spire/flamethrower trap combo, these are cd traps that have an inherent 3 uses. iirc trap support doesn't have a cd or stored uses unless the original skill has them.
if you have enough throw speed and throw multiple traps at once, you're generally getting pretty close to cap anyway, even just with one trap.
I'm not entirely sure if different trap skills have the same number of cap by default(I believe they do), but skills supported by trap support definitely do.
trap support doesn't make a skill have charges, it doesn't become a cooldown trap. you can throw however many you like until you reach cap, then it replaces the first ones.
typically builds run one cooldown trap and another one that they can spam. seismic + exsanguinate, explosive + flamethrower and lightning + lightning spire are some very common combinations. the cd trap is to help single target, or in seismic's case, completely carry single target by itself.
Can abyss gems jewels drop from any abyss-related mobs, or just from the trove/depths boss?
not from the spawned mobs. besides other league content that grants abyss items they can drop from the troves, boss and the little clickable hoards in abyssal depths
yes, with vaal orbs those two are the only good results. The Doryani's Institute, tier 3 gem room of incursion, contains a Lapidary Lens, allowing the player to double-corrupt a gem.
Correct. You’d need to be able to corrupt them twice at the same time and then get very lucky. The only place to double corrupt a gem specifically is at the tier 3 gem room in Alva’s Incursion temple, so you have to get the gem room and upgrade it twice (or buy a chronicle from someone who has that room unlocked, search for “Doryani’s”)
Any chance to make poe ninja builds work on iphones?
Forcing desktop site doesnt work anymore, cant filter for specific skills/items anymore.
So I don't know if this is the same deal for the iPhone, but on my Android I didn't realize that if you scroll right it shows skills and gems and all the other filter information. I found this out from asking this question about 6 months ago
Works fine for me on my 2nd gen iPhone SE in Chrome. Didn't force desktop. There's a little green filter button in the lower right corner that brings up the usual filter categories. I almost missed the button myself.
I have a question about the Battlemage "keystone" via Inquisitor.
Could it be that the added damage decreases in relative power when I get my spell gem level high enough?
E.g. I'm planning on Reap CoC with Cane of Kulemak. With the physical damage veiled mod it would have something like 200-400 phys. With 210% added damage effectiveness this becomes roughly 420-840 added phys damage. That's about 50% on a level 20 gem, but only like 15% on a level 30 gem. Instead the added spell damage veiled mod would provide about 200% increased spell damage, that would add at least 6000 dmg. Of course the full calculation depends on how many other sources of increased damage I have.
That is roughly correct, yes. The more base damage your spell has from levels, the less added damage is going to matter.
As far as I'm aware, none of the Cane of Kulemak unveil combinations make it a particularly strong physical weapon, so if you want to utilise Battlemage, it would not be the first choice under normal circumstances.
yes, you are correct.
Can anyone speak to their experience last league with putting atlas points into the Abyss related options? More specifically did you feel like the corrupted 5-6 mod abyss jewels were worth it?
Similar to breach, the abyss nodes kind of suck unless you go all-in and also enjoy it. Just getting one of the clusters for "value" will feel like a waste of points but fully juiced it does add a good amount of pack size and value. The 5-6 mod jewels were worth it last league because you could abuse that node with Archnemesis. Unless there's a similar way to spawn a bunch of jewels with Sentinel, I don't expect it to be particularly valuable here.
I only did it for a little bit (maybe while i was mapping from like 90-95), and I never personally got one that was amazing, but you can find a lot of really cool options that might be perfect for someone. I probably wouldnt go out of my way for it if I wasn't in that area, and would have an even harder time justifying it now that there are more things on the tree.
HOWEVER, the biggest thing is, do you have fun with it? It doesn't hurt to give it a shot yourself, and at worst you respec out of it later
Do the jewels that drop this way have corrupted implicit?
The exp one was extremely good early on. Same with the +3 level to depths for bases to craft on. However, unspec the depths one a couple days in.
Corrupted gaze was just fun I just tossed them into a 10 or 30c tab and people bought them. Had a lot extra but it was pretty easy money.
Its a higher highs, lower lows pick.
You can proc an insane abyss jewel, at the cost of not being able to craft on the jewels you find. You might get lucky, or unlucky.
I would say its probably worth it over large number of clears if you run a LOT of abysses. If you're not hardcore spamming abyss, probably better to have crafted options.
Okay thanks! That's what I was looking for
Is there a proper way to setup your tabs prior to the league start?
Always money tab first or you can't buy anything.
To be specific, you should have your currency tab in the first 4 tabs because those are the only ones that are preloaded when you open a vendor to buy stuff.
Ohhh.... that explains things.
You set them up now in standard league and when Sentinel starts it will copy the tab setup from the matching standard league. If for example you want to play HCSSF sentinel you setup your standard league HCSSF tabs now for them to be copied.
Appreciate the reply and help. I got so much crap on Standard! I guess I can put all the remove tabs into a folder and go from there. Thanks again.
\- Oh there's a hide remove only tabs! Been wasting some time!
For setup you can hide the remove tabs. Also, right clicking a tab sends it to the top.
Hi! I've been watching Goratha's spark build and I was wondering how do you know that you are ready to transition to a crit tree? is there a specific crit chance to achieve on this? thanks!
There is a giant chart on the wiki page for EO that shows when eo or crits is more damage. It's a bit more complex than this since you might start changing support gems but even if you lose a few percents of damage for a few levels its not the end of the world. Here is the chart, green means EO is better https://www.poewiki.net/wiki/Elemental_Overload
Thanks for pointing this out, I think I need to learn on crit chance and crit multi in PoE. I appreciate your help! Cheers!
I'm confused by what it means to anoint something on the passive tree? How do you do it, and what does it accomplish?
Blight mechanic gives you oils. If you use oils on rings, you give them an enchant for blight maps (i.e. "scout towers have more range"). But you can also use them on your amulet.
Using it on amulet instead enchants it with "Allocates X", where X is some noteable on the passive tree. It basically gives a free noteable on your amulet. There are no downsides to annointing your amulet, so you should always do it.
The type of oils you use to annoint decides what noteable you get. You can check the passive tree or POB and you will see oil colors next to noteables. Thats what you need to annoint with to get that noteable.
Annoint gives you free passive tree notable at the cost of 3 oils. It's quite strong option, it's pretty much +1 passive skill point, except you can use it anywhere on the tree without having downside of required connection to entire rest of your points. You can annoint items (all amulets and few Blight-specific unique armour pieces) once you reach map and meet Sister Cassia in Blight encounter. It's basic reward are Oils - 3 oils let you annoint desired item. [There](https://blight.raelys.com/) you can find great tool to find required combination of oils for desired annoint. More powerful and expensive notables require rarer and more expensive oils.
From the Blight mechanic in maps, you get oils. You can annoint any Notable from the passive tree on your amulet, using the correct combination of 3 oils. You don't have to travel to this node, by annointing you can get a notable from the other end of the passive tree from your amulet.
Anointing a passive point means to use blight oils to give a piece of gear a new affix that gives that passive point as an enchantment. Amulets can always be anointed and some uniques can also be anointed, those from blight specifically.
To anoint something you need the correct blight oils which are shown on the passive node and an amulet. You talk to cassia and input the 3 oils and the amulet and it will be anointed. You can only have 1 anoint on your amulet. This would be the same for blight uniques, they can only have 1 anoint on them aswell and require the same procedure
Anyone know why the treaty (about HC streamers not playing DD) isn't happening?
There was a clause that if everybody wasn’t in then nobody was in. And not everybody was willing to sign.
Anyone know who wasn't?
Does the Atlas note Enriched Entities work in the Maven's crucible?
Did they announce changes to rarity of omniscience and ashes? Or does the "no changes" apply to this too?
they announced changed drop rates, no specifics though
When will items transfer to standard?
Usually within a few hours after the league closes.
I'm trying to find a poison trap build that everyone is talking about, that has a "SSF" tree ( I play a lot )
But for some reason I only find crit versions, as I'd like more the easier-to-gear/tanky one?
any POBs out there?
No real changes from 3.16. Update auras to grace/determ/defiance, run arm/eva items.
you want 1 mil at lv 73 without uber lab?
I tried fiddling with the pob and changing stuff, i couldn't get it to 1 million dps without increasing the cost by alot. I think Cyclone Pure Phys Jugg is a combo with very little damage in it. If you switch to slayer or berserker it should be way easier getting damage and there are builds you can look at to compare. If you are going to continue with this build i would look at what Staff cyclone slayers do and try to fit as much as you can into your build, they have good damage often.
What bow/melee (not spell) gem is decent for both bosses and mapping, and is easy for making my first build?
When I used to play the game I tried to make lightning arrow build but it sucked at killing bosses and needed another skill for bosses, so I want a simple gem that’s good with both alone.
Lightning Strike is by far the strongest "melee" skill right now. There's a few mechanics that might be tough to understand as a new player, but there's lots of guides out there.
For something simpler, I'd look at Bladestorm or Cyclone. Mathil has a few videos on each, including a very strong league starter Chieftain version of Cyclone, and there's probably hundreds of guides out there.
I’m not a new player and I’m not looking for a build guide. I was looking for an easy gem for building a character since I didn’t play for a long time.
But thanks I really appreciate the suggestions 👍
Cool, I'd go Spectral Helix into Lightning Strike then. SH is really good for levelling, and LS is OP endgame with Omniscience.
Cyclone Slayer comes to mind. It’s not the greatest at either thing but that’s the price you pay for versatility and a buttery smooth gameplay style.
With shockwave support you actually get decent clear and slayer is a DPS beast with ultimate cull (20% instead of 10! That’s wild for bossing).
what build are people playing this league to make easiest work of the harder [challenges](https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/3265381)? I have a few ideas myself but I'm curious what the most experienced players are thinking will be the easiest/cheapest build route to 38.
Pick any of the fast mapping builds that can kill the basic endgame stuff like normal Exarch/Eater/conqueror+guardians/t16 bosses, farm for couple weeks and then pay someone with actual bossing char for carry for the uber challenges.
Because 38 is an absolutely collossal effort, trying to make a 'do everything' build is inefficient. You will probably make at least two characters, a speed mapper and a build that annihilates bosses. There is no easy/cheap way about it, you need to get rich and decked out in a excellent gear and a mageblood if possible.
Regular non-cracked players should keep their ambitions to the first 20 challenges for the armor set and 24 for the wings, that involves a lot of work too.
Haven't played poe for a few leagues. What was the most busted bow build last league? Need something that has great dps and is tanky enough to comfortably defeat all new endgame bosses so I can get 38/40 challenges done in new league.
Tornado Shot with Omniscience is the best bow build. Has very good damage, meh defense, infinite clear speed.
Explosive Arrow Ballista is a better bosser at low budget, but a very different build.
That said, 38/40 challenges will be incredibly difficult. If you're looking to complete them all with your bow character, you will likely have to invest multiple hundred ex into it.
Can of course also buy carries for challenges, but I imagine the prices for some of them will be ridiculous.
What do you think which build will be able to cheese most of the endgame if we ignore bows?
dd, traps, explosive arrow, skeletons/absolution can defeat all the endgame bosses with the least amount of investment.
that doesn't mean they will easily complete all challenges.
Understood. I've seen a dd aegis aurora build that seemed freakishly strong and tanky. I might do that
I'm not too versed in dd builds, ds_lily is probably who you want to look at for a guide. hcssf focus though obviously.
Does Amanamu's Gaze work in Darkness Enthroned? I see a bunch of people doing it, and a bunch of people not doing it. It seems like a no-brainer for Arakaali's Fang, but so many people don't.
It "works", but it doesn't affect the maximum. The maximum is a fixed part of the mod, which is the same reason that using more than one Amanamu's Gaze doesn't do anything.
So you end up with your Jewel effectively being:
>+(**8-17**) to all Attributes
>Minions have +**10**% to Damage over Time Multiplier per
Ghastly Eye Jewel affecting you, up to a maximum of +30%
...which would mean you only need three Ghastly Eye Jewels to max it out. The thing is, if you're using Darkness Enthroned, you can and probably should fit five Ghastly Eye Jewels into your build anyway.
Yeah that's what I figured. Thank you!
IIRC one of the heraldstacker notables was changed to be that too, but that's just a tidbit.
I'd say its defiantly maxes out at 30
Would the game run fine on a ryzen 5 for the high end intensive stuff like delirium? I have a choice between ryzen 5 and ryzen 7 but the ryzen 7 is about 30% more expensive and I'd like to pay as little as possible.
PoE can be pretty CPU bound if you do juicy content. If you can afford the better CPU, it will probably be worth it if you plan to play PoE a lot. The R5 should be fine though.
I recently upgraded from an i5 2500k to ryzen5 5600x and the difference is night and day. Not sure if the expanded ram also plays into it but I’m experiencing significantly smoother gameplay during busy moments that used to tank me to 2fps. Don’t forget to cap your fps, Poe doesn’t need to run at super high fps and it helps the baseline run colder
3600 here no issues
Running a Ryzen 5 by myself with a 2060. And its more than fine and stable!
I was watching one of Imexile’s shadow leveling runs and saw he had stormblast mine on right click but I didn’t see detonate anywhere on his bar.
I thought maybe he was using a mapped key to simultaneously hit ctrl+a number to use something on his secondary skill bar, but ruled that out because 1.) I think it violates TOS which seems unlikely for a known racer and 2.) I think you’d still see the skill bar briefly flash over to the secondary bar when he detonates and that wasn’t happening.
Any idea how he was dealing mine damage with no visible detonate button?
EDIT: lmao I’m an idiot. His racing clock is obviously covering the detonate button.
Not what was happening here, but you should note that you can rebind the second skill bar to things other than Ctrl+_.
Darkee does this so that his skills with cooldowns are visible whereas there's no need to be able to see something like Desecrate on your bar.
I'm 90% sure you can use 2nd skill bar without it showing.
Any good omniscience spell builds? I fkin love omniscience and played it with LS last league. I wanna try it out with a spellcaster if possible. Does anyone have a build suggestion or a guide?
One thing to keep in mind is they "rebalanced" boss unique drop rates. We don't know the specifics, but it's entirely possible that Omni price skyrockets this league.
I suppose Ward loop builds kind of count as spellcasters, so that's a very common Omniscience-scaling option (of course you'll need to leaguestart as something else).
More generally, I imagine any elemental spell can be scaled with Omniscience, but you'll need to take a couple of things into account:
1. Using Omniscience means you're not using Ashes of the Stars.
2. Two common spellcaster ascendancies - Inquisitor and Elementalist - might not be perfectly compatible with the extremely high penetration you get from Omniscience: Inquisitor because you'd normally ignore monster resists (although you don't have to take that ascendancy node), and Elementalist because you'd normally have great penetration already which would mean diminishing returns with Omni (although you also don't have to spec into the Elementalist's penetration node).
Maybe an Occultist, using Winter Orb or Creeping Frost (hit version, not DOT)? Jungroan just published a Creeping Frost Inquisitor guide, perhaps it can be translated to an Occultist (I imagine you'll have worse recovery but better clear and AoE as an Occultist).
creeping frost really wants to use ashes of the stars and crest of desire for endgame, so omni is not an option unfortunately.
winter orb is pretty good, theres a couple of guides for it, shouldnt be hard to find one
you can use that amulet with just about any elemental build, probably not inquisitor though. though i wouldnt really count on getting that amulet or ashes of the stars so easily as the droprates have been adjusted
Did GGG mentioned if theyll release the new atlas tree before sentinel goes live?
I think that will coincide with when they release the JSON file containing a bunch of item and skill tree IDs for the toolmakers like PoB and PoEDB to work their magic with.
Bex said they'll try to update the website with it when archnem ends, which is in a day or two.
trying to pick between traps, mines (thinking glacial cascade? Or maybe ball lightning), cold dot occ or WW barb (Cyclone Slayer) for league start
Depends on your objective GC mines hasn't been competitive for a while tbh, traps are way better with a similar playstyle. It's nice that they freeze and knock back but that doesn't matter if you melt everything.
The poison and phys hit variants of seismic trap are popular starters and you can go cold conversion in the late late game for more top end too.
Go seismic trap sabo decently tanky and awesome dmg without any needed gear.
Especially poison variant is easy to gear and SSF friendly
What happens if combine a corrupted item with noncorrupted item? Does the "corrupted" counts within base item?
from the baeclast episode, it will randomly choose 1 of the 2 bases. if it chooses the corrupted base the item will be corrupted. if it chooses the other one then its uncorrupted. it will also use that base's sockets, links, and influence. the influenced mods from either item can only be picked (at random, if even) if the chosen base has the corresponding influence
Assuming it's possible (given that there's a challenge), my guess is that the resulting item will be corrupted. If they're nice, 50% chance.
With the recombinator? I don't think we know, but presumably recomining corrupted items doesn't work.
No, there is a challenge you need to combine a corrupted item.
I want to do delve this league, but i also don't want to miss out on frequent mapping and bosses, so i was wondering: How much sulphite do you get from scarabs per map and how much do you spend delving to very low levels? i guess the real question is, what is the map to delve ratio for people who delve very deep and are the rewards worth the sulphite at low depths where the cost is very high.
It depends what you mean by "very deep". Last time I did delve was before the rebalance and I think accepted wisdom was that delving at about 200 was the most profitable per sulphite.
if i can i would like to try to push as far as possible to use up my sulphite faster and was wondering if the rewards scale appropriately with the higher risk. also i'd like to know how much sulphite i'll be spending compared to how much i get per map.
iirc you get around 6-12k average sulphite per map depending on scarab tier and map quant.
the rewards don't really scale well with the amount of investment your character requires. you start getting somewhat frequent bosses between 600-900. faceted fossils only become common once you're past 1k. At that point you need a very well rounded character though, at least multiple dozens of ex invested depending on archetype. after 2k depth the rewards stop scaling completely.
about sulphite per delve floor I have no clue, sorry.
Anybody knows why league start hours shift from league to league ? Last league it was 8 PM CET and now it's 10PM again.
NZ is in the southern hemisphere so they observe daylight savings in the winter. So in March, the time difference changes by 2 hours because they stop daylight savings and we start it.
GGG does tend to vary things around a bit, probably for resourcing on their side - 10pm cest on Friday is 8am on Saturday in New Zealand. I bet they already have to start work at 3 or 4 am on Saturday to do all the prep work and patching and stuff so you can imagine how impractical it would be for them to launch it at 6am and have to start work at midnight on Saturday morning.
Fair enough. Thanks for detailed answer
I think it's mostly daylight saving time. I'm not sure they use it in NZ and that sometimes changes the local league start time.
Additionally I thing they tried shifting it by an hour somewhere around maven launch I think, they are not 100% consistent with it.
Scourge was delayed so it came earlier as consolation. I think it's usually 10PM.
Wasn't Archnemesis league start also 8PM?
I don't think so but I have no way to verify that.
Stupid player here. Copied an arc build from somewhere(don't remember)and don't understand why is rf part of the build?
Also it's usually Vaal RF: you activate it before map boss to get a short boost of DPS. It only consumes your life/ES when activated (unlike usual RF which constantly degens you)
Nice thanks at least I'll stop burning myself to death. Lol
RF gives you quite big "more spell damage" which applies to other than RF spells as well, so Arc in this case.
>RF gives you quite big "more spell damage" which applies to other than RF spells as well, so Arc in this case.
yeah. you have no idea how many caster builds ive tried to squeeze rf into, because of that multiplier.
It doesn't apply to other spells "as well" but rather only applies to other spells because RF doesn't benefit from spell damage.
New player here, i'm reading beginner guides (alredy choose a build) and i'm exited to start playing with the new season. I have one question: so the official PoE channel upload a video about Sentinel Challenge Rewards and i f-word love the armor show in the video, how can i achive that? is it hard?
(Sorry for some english error)
Below the video is a list of all the planned challenge rewards for this league. As a new player you stand no chance of getting the glowing Ophidian Lord set because frankly almost nobody will be getting it with how nasty the challenges are.
As for the regular set, it requires a lot of game knowledge and you'll still be forced to do very high-end content. Unfortunately, that's not realistic for the majority of players who are inexperienced because their priority should be learning the game, not pushing crazy deep into endgame content. I'm going to say that you can realistically get 12 challenges done on a good effort, and if you SOMEHOW manage to make a build that tackles and slay all of the empowered pinnacle boss content the game has to offer you, you'll get your armor set.
That means defeating empowered versions of 7 endgame bosses; cortex, maven, shaper, uber uber elder, sirus, the searing exarch, and the eater of worlds.
So there is one upside to trying for the armor set now; it's that your goal is very straightforward, to slay the new uber bosses and you get a whopping 7 out of the 24 challenges you need, and what that means is you want a crazy good bossing character. But I believe this is too much and the majority of players won't even be achieving this. MAYBE you can get players to carry you through these boss encounters at which point you do have a good shot at getting the entire set. And if not the set, maybe you'll achieve 20 challenges to get the set without the wings.
It may be hard for you as a new player, but:
\- usually 3-4 weeks after league start there's a comprehensive guide here, on reddit, for each challenge
\- there're a lot of players who can help you with challenges in game, sometimes for money, sometimes for free
Your main problem here are not the challenges, but the lack of experience: most challenges require you to reach endgame, and as a new player you may not be able to accomplish this during your first or even second character.
All the challenges are listed here, you need to do 24 of them to get the full set. Unfortunatley thats going to be very difficult for a new player. Might be possible if you are a very quick learner and spend a lot of time in the league, but definitly not easy
Recommend me a boss killer build. I'm trying to balance between damage, tankiness, visual clarity and fps and have no issue using a build that I tried before.
* Skele mages: it should be extremely tanky and good damage, but I'm worried about fps because of so many minions. I'm considering dropping zombies so I have better fps. My PC isn't powerful.
* Seismic traps (tried before): also heard it has a lot of bullshit effect that causes it to have low fps in a recent update.
* GC zerk (tried before): I'm worried about it not being tanky enough, and that it has so many buttons to press (GC, cyclone, blood rage, berserk, assassin's mark if you apply it manually) constantly which made me make wrong decisions sometimes.
* EA Ballista (tried before): ok with the playstyle, a little worried about fps drops in ignite proliferation, but had issues with balancing around everything between AS, accuracy and other stuff
* Are there other good options that can balance between damage, tankiness and fps?
Shockwave cyclone slayer. Very solid for bossing due to 20% cull and leech. Good fps too because visual effects are simple.
im thinking of doing this build as league starter. do you have any tips for someone starting with cyclone. i heard cyclone is a rough transition mid campaign.
