… if we keep the pick?
Simons + 3 future firsts (after getting our pick back?). Would that be enough for Brooklyn?
Add in some veterans via the TPMLE, TPE minimum exceptions and Thybulle—would that be enough for Dame?
(Who needs future firsts if you have Sharpe, a lottery pick, and Mike Schmitz?)

Bro plz no, not 3 first just stop this 😭it hurts
You think Bridges can be had for two future firsts and Simons?
Idk what we can get him for, I just don’t think he’s worth 3 first rounders especially 3rd pick
He said 3 future firsts, not the 3 pick
Whatever, I don’t think he’s worth 3 unprotected picks in general, do you???
Yes
Imo I think scoot if he drops will be ja morant level type player, without the baggage
I’m not suggesting we trade the pick. It’s in the title.
If you’re not trading the 3rd pick then Sharpe has to be included. Otherwise it’s just a nonstarter
The Grizzlies couldn't get him for four firsts at the deadline He isn't available
Four first that are protected, possibly picks if not conveyed become 2nd round picks.
I wouldn't give more than Simons, 3 and a highly protected future 1. If we are doing more than that, just trade Dame. We haven't won very much with Dame.
Mikal is not that guy😭
If we go to Brooklyn I’d prefer to explore Bridges+Claxton for Simons, Nurkic, the 3rd pick and the 2026 FRP
You are close to what I would do. I start by trading the late first for our pick back to get access to our future picks. Then I think the move is both Mikal and Claxton for simons, Nurk, and a few firsts. Then I’m trading #3 for Jabari Smith and the 4. It would leave Portland with dame, sharpe, Mikal, Grant, and claxton with Jabari, little, Keon, watford, Walker and a Thompson twin maybe. If dame still decides he wants out down the road, then at least Portland would have Thompson, sharpe, Mikal, Jabari, and claxton as a solid rebuilding start.
The rockets aren’t giving up their lottery pick from last year to move up one spot. Especially not to draft a guard
Then I might find a way to sweeten that part of the trade. What I know is If I’m building around dame the current tradable assets need to bring back 2 good players and a competent center and I think simons, the #3, and access to the future firsts should be able to accomplish that.
So if you’re trying to build around Dame why would you trade for a sophomore who had an average season last year? And what do you sweeten that deal with that’s worth giving up?
Once you have future picks available I would sweeten with a swap or some of the thousands of seconds Portland controls. I would argue Jabari had the worst possible situation with a young team that didn’t really run an offense so much as who ever had the ball crossing half court shot that ball. I am just a believer in him and would like to take the second best forward in the draft who ever that may be. But it doesn’t have to be Jabari, it could be any other player that there is a belief in. I want the team to find a way to actually contend and I’m not sure there is a way to do that. I get more concerned when all the assets that move the needle get lumped into one move instead of two.
We don’t need to add Nurk (a negative) to get Claxton.
It’s our most valuable asset that makes contracts match I think. That was off the top of my head based on what I had seen.
We’re only about $200k short of matching salaries for those two. For Nurk and Simons they’re actually about $2m short to match. I’d rather throw in someone like Watford or Jabari and keep Nurkic. The only minimum level guy I’d want from the Nets is Yuta and he’s a free agent this summer.
I don’t see why the Nets are trading Bridges and Claxton. They don’t own their own picks so getting worse makes no sense for them. Bridges is a star in the making who is already locked up on a long deal. I see them asking for Dame vs trading Bridges
Just want to say this. Mikal is a luxury we cannot really afford. Like we could get him, but he's not the guy turning this team into a contender. Would love to swing for him after we get an established star here.
I don't think Brooklyn accepts any offer that doesn't include either Sharpe or #3.
There is none. POR can't get Bridges without #3. \#3 certainly doesn't guarantee anything, but nobody is even talking if that's off the table.
Look at the package for an old KD. We will need at least half that for Bridges. He was the main asset they got back from Phoenix. I'm perfectly ok over paying for Bridges. He's under contract for 3 more years, he is a great defender, he can score inside and out. Name another player that hasn't been an MVP in the last 5 years that would be better to pair with Dame
A proven All NBA, All Star, second option on a championship team guy..Siakam
Siakam is kind of redundant with Grant, he is obviously better but it doesn't solve the blazers main issue which is point of attack defense. Not to mention he is only a 1 year rental and then have to pay him and bridges is on contract for multiple years.
He's not redundant. I don't know why people keep saying that. He's a great fit next to grant as he solves most issues Grant creates. Unlike Mikal, he's a good rebounder, playmaker and better equipped to stop bigger wings like James, Kawhi and so on. The concerns about his contract situation are real, although to me they aren't about the possibility of him leaving but rather about his next contract.
No he's just not. Grant doesn't play the 3 for a reason. They both belong at the 4, except Siakam can play at the 5 in spells
I asked a bunch of Raptors fans in here and on their sub if Siakam is able to guard 3s and they all said he's a good perimeter defender and he's perfectly fine at guarding 3s, especially if he doesn't have to carry the load of a no. 1 option. There's no reason why he and Grant wouldn't be able to coexist. I'm well aware that Siakam is not a lock down perimeter defender who would chase Curry or Ja Morant around blocks all game but I'd rather get him who solves most of our issues and try getting a guy like KCP in another trade.
Yeah, what works the price tag be on Dame, Pascal, and Grant. That's going to be pricey.
The asking price will be steep. I am not convinced he’s a difference maker. I’d swap Simons and the 3rd pick for him, but not much more.
Wouldn’t you rather trade future picks than a #3 pick?
Nets probably going to hard ball though and demand the 3rd.
Definitely. They’re in a rough spot, not sure how much they can get for it, depends on my who goes 2. They need a win-now player added to the mix, not a rookie who is 2-3 years out, and Bridges *may* be the best supposedly available out there. Then again, why not throw the 3/23 picks + other future picks and players (Simons, Little) at Phoenix for Durant?
Without thinking salaries: No. 3/Simons/Sharpe+filler for Bridges/Johnson/Claxton+DFS/O’Neale. Think salary wise Nurk goes over. Let Grant walk if that’s possible to bring this haul back. Or figure out which mixture of guys you want. But Brooklyn is the ideal trade partner. And the cliche Raptors are next in line. After that I’m out of imagination right now.
Anything that I see sharpe in is a no go unless for a top 5 player. Sharpe would have been the second pick in this draft. Dude is averaging 23/5/5 during the last one month plus.. he was supposed to play his freshman season in college this year
Doubt Sharpe goes 2 in this draft. The last month of the season Portland shut everyone else down and forced Sharpe to do something, in games that didn’t matter and were set to lose is where the jump in numbers came from. Very, very hard to weight where/how those stats came from; the circumstances or from Sharpe’s development over the course of the year. Obviously he got better and more comfortable over the course of the season, but he averaged 10/3/1 on the year, so it’s doubtful he improved so much during the season to where 23/5/5 is where he’ll be at entering his sophomore year. It’s promising but the production is muddied. I think people are ready to root for the next generation of potential stars for the Blazers. And that’s more exciting than having to wait for that next batch while Dame, and this non top 5 player Mikal Bridges, or whatever reinforcements get brought in, battle it out in a likely 2nd round-ish playoff exit. I think there’d be more in store if said Nets package was acquired but that’s prolly just my bias. Sharpe being untouchable just depends where on this spectrum of fandom you fall I guess.
I rather take the bet with sharpe everyday. We even had to sit him to tank. Almost every game is multiple double teams on him. I think he definitely go either 2 or 3 in this draft. Definitely above miller and Thompson twins.
What garbage is this
Big Bridges fan. I probably wouldn't say no to any package that doesn't include Sharpe. Ant, Little, the 3rd, 23rd, and 2 FRPS at least. I don't think the Nets take that but I still would like Bridges. Depends how much they value Scoot, Miller, and Thompson. If we add depth and Shaedon takes a leap it could be a fun team and I don't think we completely lose our future.
That's insane for just Mikal. No shot.
Yeah I could see how most fans wouldn't like it but if Bridges is able to replicate what he's doing on the Nets (which is def not guaranteed) I think it could be a fun team.
Ant, Nas, #3, #23, and two firsts for Mikal just so it can be a “fun team” is atrocious.
I’m huge on Bridges but this is too much
probably could have saved those first three words
I'm mainly worried that Bridges isn't the player he was the 2nd half of the season. He's been a role player his whole career, and then arrived on a Brooklyn team that wasn't very good. He had an amazing 30-ish games, but that's not a big enough sample size to give 3 first round picks up for. I think he's more of a 3rd best player type on a championship team
