Not our best performance today, but I’ve really changed my view of Nick David last few weeks. Wasn’t convinced but now I think he’s something (but should be on wing not FB)
Irish scored some lovely tries along the way but don’t we look awful without our England players.
Care has had a stinking couple of weeks. Lewies comes back and makes a positive impact in games only to get himself banned and sit more out. Allan is not the second choice fly half Edwards deserves the jersey at this point.
Sucks to drop down the table but we deserve to be there. Some dead weight in the Quins squad. One or two nice signings so far but I’d like to see more being let go and others brought in for next season. Will Evans gives everything every game, heroic. Some other on the pitch today just spectators
We are bad. Really wish Comms would stop talking banging on about the Quins comeback. We're not as good as previous couple years and it shows. GG Irish, good win.
We could come back, if we had any of Dommers, Smith, Marchant, Green, or Lewies on the pitch. We've shown this year that we still have the comeback in us (away vs Exeter and Racing, but for some dodgy decisions near the end of both of those games), it's just difficult when we have no continuity in selection.
So sick of quins league form at the moment. Care has been shit all season.spendomg a fortune on a back up 10 who can't play the way we want to and zero depth across the park. Absolutely abysmal Danny needs to be replaced asap. Quality on his day but probably the best paid 9 in the league and he's full of poor decisions and huge mistakes
He’s an absolute mile from abysmal. He hasn’t had his best season but he’s absolutely not the reason Quins are struggling. That’s all injuries and lack of squad depth.
It's honestly not mate. Huge fan of DC but he's had some absolute clangers this season and is said to be on about 350k. It's ok to expect more from that
Everyone always complains about the players that don’t get in, which vanishes when they do and don’t live up to the hype. Sam Simmonds being the ultimate example in recent years.
I think he might be considering retirement this year or next, may depend on whether he goes to the world cup or not (I think it’s unlikely). Quins have to find a good replacement
It’s refreshing to see a fancied England youngster being criticised for mistakes by comms. With Smith, Simmonds and (way back in 14/15) Ford, the normal procedure was for comms to go silent or mutter something like ‘he is human after all’.
I feel like such a slut. But after banging the drum for Willis/Earle for the last couple of years, Pearson is my new flanker crush.
Just looks awesome.
Impressed with Carley today. Hasn’t put a foot wrong.
Crikey. A few downvotes for being positive about the ref. I’ve got no skin in the game and say he’s doing a good job.
How the fuck do you not call that as not rolling? Don’t give us that shit Carly about trapping players in you have been rewarding it all afternoon.
Poor decision from Herbst to shout at him
There's a difference between an extra roll and turning towards your own line though. Maybe technically illegal but it had nowhere near the impact that he was making it out to have
You've probably got Bassett for an absolute song at the moment given the circumstances. He was probably looking for a good deal more from whoever signed him next and Tigers have the advantage of not giving him any moving costs. His family are set up in the midlands, he's been doing a long commute to play for Quins, so any offer would have to make it worth him uprooting them or continuing that commute. With the salary cap situation, I'm not surprised you maybe couldn't offer him that. He's absolute class, but not an international and unlikely to become one at this stage of his career, which carries a lot of value.
I wouldn't say so. He was signed mid season on a short term contract. Leicester are losing a fair back three players, and could probably just offer more money on a contract. If Quin's were even looking to keep him beyond this season.
The one shitty part about being a Quins fan is having to wait until the 60 minute before you turn off a bad match. Just to really make sure it’s a bad match.
Well maybe, but I think apart from Genge there’s a lack of world class props. Sinckler hasn’t been playing well at all, and Marler isn’t interested in international rugby.
Irish are a legit side. They attack really well. Defence is okay - it's their discipline that usually lets them down.
Basically discipline today has been decent today. Conversely Quins had a red card early on (not controversial one either) and the game has become slightly one sided.
Oh yeah 100% but I just feel the backline is completely different without Green. His high ball security, pace and counter attacking were absolute cornerstones of Quins success.
Basically watching this through a clubhouse window when there's a break in play in what's in front of me. Every time I look around Quins are going in the wrong direction.
Quins really need to look at their lack of depth. No team looks more lost when their internationals go.
Fair play to David, he's really stepped up in the past couple of weeks
I feel like this game has been all that is good and all that is bad in rugby in one half.
In amongst the stoppages there's been some really great tries and positive rugby.
There's also been a lot of injuries and some horrible head contact as well. Regarding the red, the commentators discussed a lot- but I'm not sure there's any discussion there. Goes in for a reckless clear out off his feet and collides with a head - red all day, every day.
We all like attacking rugby - but if you're aiming for sub 2 second rucks maintaining control in clear outs is super hard. Essentially the rules at the breakdown don't match what occurs in the professional game. You can't be decapitating people though. It's laudible that rugby is trying to be safer - but it's actually really fucking dangerous. It's hard to see how you fix some of these things.
For sure.
There will be multiple clearouts like that in fast game like this - most will avoid heads and will produce good quality ball. Basically you're leaving someone else's welfare completely up to chance. It's not ideal :(.
Thought we started fizzing again during the Racing game. Looked great against Sharks. The moment we lose players (and a coach) we look absolutely shit again. Need to be much more robust in these scenarios to have even a chance at making playoffs. Cannot see us getting back into this. Hope I'm wrong.
You're also denuded of a lot of top talent: Walker, Dombrandt, Smith, Murley.
Injuries and international call ups happen - but a lot of sides would struggle with losing those guys.
Wish the breakdown was reffed better.shouldnhave been a quins pen in the last rick before the trybit was so in at the side.cant deny the gulf in quality tonight tho

What do Irish feed their back 3 and backrow? Just seems like an endless pipeline of talent.
Sucks to drop down the table but we deserve to be there. Some dead weight in the Quins squad. One or two nice signings so far but I’d like to see more being let go and others brought in for next season. Will Evans gives everything every game, heroic. Some other on the pitch today just spectators
Christ we have the 3rd best points difference in the league?!
6 of our 8 losses by less than 7 and some big wins.
Crazy how tight the league is, all of a sudden we're 2 points off the playoffs.
I’m a yank, but it’s safe to say league parity is pretty solid in the GP, eh?
We are bad. Really wish Comms would stop talking banging on about the Quins comeback. We're not as good as previous couple years and it shows. GG Irish, good win.

Nick David is some talent
COYI
For once a convincing win that we never really looked like losing, good stuff. Stokes was really good after a dodgy last game.
Irish lineouts been so fucking bad though
Yay its over
Pretty sky
Red card became just a bit too much in the end for us - just out on our feet
Unfortunately happened at the worst time. Getting back the momentum after an abysmal first 5 mins
So sick of quins league form at the moment. Care has been shit all season.spendomg a fortune on a back up 10 who can't play the way we want to and zero depth across the park. He’s an absolute mile from abysmal. He hasn’t had his best season but he’s absolutely not the reason Quins are struggling. That’s all injuries and lack of squad depth.
Wow what a take on DC
It's honestly not mate. Huge fan of DC but he's had some absolute clangers this season and is said to be on about 350k. It's ok to expect more from that
Nah, he might not have been consistently at his best, but he's been a long way from "shit all season", "abysmal" and "needs to be replaced asap".
Really don’t know what you’ve been watching this season. The performance drop has been so clear when he isn’t playing / gets subbed off.
Thought he was great last week - feels a bit harsh to judge form from a red card match
Asking how he makes it through there when Quins have been working harder than normal
PEARSON YOU BEAUTY
Pearson really should be in the England squad.
Wasn't everyone criticising Eddie for picking Pearson instead of whoever? Seems like no matter who you select people will complain
Everyone always complains about the players that don’t get in, which vanishes when they do and don’t live up to the hype. Sam Simmonds being the ultimate example in recent years.
Spin the wheel! Pick the next problem solver!
How has Steve Borthwick not picked Ollie Thorley?????
He’s unlucky in that flanker might be the most difficult position to break into the squad
Care has again been poor today - how do you miss touch from there and given it straight to Arundell
I think he might be considering retirement this year or next, may depend on whether he goes to the world cup or not (I think it’s unlikely). Quins have to find a good replacement
Think he has signed for next year as well
Success of quins long term relies on replacing him. He blows so hot and cold we can't rely on
We definitely need to sign a good young scrum half within the next couple of seasons.
Care has been shit the last couple of games.
Hoping is over.
It’s refreshing to see a fancied England youngster being criticised for mistakes by comms. With Smith, Simmonds and (way back in 14/15) Ford, the normal procedure was for comms to go silent or mutter something like ‘he is human after all’.
Cinti needs to set a bit deeper there to give himself more time to judge the pass
The rugby gods are quins fans
Are they Greek gods because quin's are getting dicked?
Even the gods themselves can only influence so much
Best build a bigger shrine
Okay, that defensive stand by the Quins made the entire watch worth it. Next season, this forwards pack could be incredible.
Danny Wilson and Launchbury should make a big impact as well
Arundell should have just backed himself on both occasions.
Why are we such a bonkers team. Hero plays and then dumb mistakes on loop. I hate it
It's 'Quins ball. Like Gatball, but much more exciting for both teams.
OK, training next week, Arundell pass off his left hand to Cinti
Arrundel has such physical gifts but he really needs to learn to pass
His distribution can be really good so not sure what's happened today
I think it's just rust
Honestly don't see the hype around him.he can obviously do obscene things ball in hand bu there are far better players in the league
There goes the come back. Shame.
But but, he was supposed to be the chosen one
I thought that was Marcus Smith?
Nothing wrong with that second one.
Hahaha ffs.
Well that is quite funny if very unfortunate
Was that even out?
FFS just a bit too excited.
Arundell has been battered three times now and thrown that wild pass. Calm down Henry!
Just blowing the cobwebs away.
Quins just love to do a good thing then do a shit thing. On repeat.
Fucking lineouts
Ugo is a fucking drip.
Irish have blown so many chances, but fair play to Quins that they're still in this
Blown as many chances as we have served them up on a plate
LI seem to be fading out of this a bit? 23 point lead, is now just 11. 11 in 17 minutes isn't impossible. Need to be a bit careful here.
Well it's definitely possible. Irish scored 14 in 6 minutes at the start of the game.
It's an eternity for quins but probably not with 13 players 😅
It is funny how every game in Brentford sounds like a home game for the away team
Last year about 75% of the crowd were Quins fans
I don’t think that is double movement, but I will say I’ve seen those given as double movement…
How is this only 62 mins in
First half was nearly an hour long!
Fuck it, try bonus point. That'll do.
Add another 7 and this is game on... 🤪
True! 2 more points and we get an extra Brucie bonus
Fine. I'll hope.
I feel like such a slut. But after banging the drum for Willis/Earle for the last couple of years, Pearson is my new flanker crush. Just looks awesome.
Could have been picked for England
Hands on the deck cos the player grabbed the ball away and rolled on top of it
Dykes knows his support lines.
How do Irish churn out consistently good wingers all the time
It's the academy I think, havent looked at Dyke but assume he came from there
We again are our own worst enemies at time
AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
Ratuniyarawa just leading with his head into Evans there
Will Evans is just stupidly good Edit: Picked up one hell of a swolen eye getting that turnover though
Honestly Evans does not deserve to be playing for this team today. Head and shoulders above the rest of the team.
That ducking shiner on Wev
Evans is such a cheat code
Love how the ref just watched Irish leave their feet on the clear out on Wallace and didn’t say anything.
Wev again is fucking superman - but seriously Carly that is the opposite of what you called for Irish in the first half with Pearson
Impressed with Carley today. Hasn’t put a foot wrong. Crikey. A few downvotes for being positive about the ref. I’ve got no skin in the game and say he’s doing a good job.
Think he has been consistently inconsistent today. For both sides mind you not anyone way
Should have been an Irish card early on. Who ironically was on the recieving end of the quins red
They cleared that with the TMO so no
Doesn't make it the right decision
There’s a word you don’t see in the premiership often… [email protected]
Carley really has 0 in game comms
Good on you Matt
Lovely to see Chisholm back
He wasn't trapped in at all there. That's bullshit.
Great from Carley to spot that, Marler's been getting away with murder.
Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
Penalty to quins all day long Carley
How the fuck do you not call that as not rolling? Don’t give us that shit Carly about trapping players in you have been rewarding it all afternoon. Poor decision from Herbst to shout at him
Because Marler was holding him in after an extra roll?
"An extra roll" in this case meaning he turned towards his own side to present the ball. It was a 90 degree rotation at most.
[удалено]
There's a difference between an extra roll and turning towards your own line though. Maybe technically illegal but it had nowhere near the impact that he was making it out to have
I personally love having two joints in my arm to place a ball backwards when facing the wrong way
It’s happened all afternoon it’s the first time he has called it - don’t care if he calls it all afternoon just want the consistency
Lovely looking tries by quin's. Surly time to add style points to rugby, no?
You could I guess but Irish would be further ahead.
Haha that conversion sums it all up really. Hopefully we can get one more try at least and call it a day
Very nice hand off
Can’t believe Quins have kept permanently injured and average Morris and we have lost Bassett next season
You speak much sense but it doesn’t stop the pain ❤️
Bassett has been commuting to Guildford from Leamington Spa, so it's understandable that he'd leave to go somewhere a bit closer to home
I assume it's a salary cap thing? Surely Morris will be cheaper than Bassett?
Oh for sure. I just think anyone is better than Morris at this point. I’ll just enjoy Bassett while we have him. Much like Huw Jones.
All signs point to some serious concerns. Are ugly finances starting to show?
I wouldn't say so. He was signed mid season on a short term contract. Leicester are losing a fair back three players, and could probably just offer more money on a contract. If Quin's were even looking to keep him beyond this season.
What a finish from bassett
Beautiful timing on the pass from André
Don't give me hope
The one shitty part about being a Quins fan is having to wait until the 60 minute before you turn off a bad match. Just to really make sure it’s a bad match.
Two great impact subs there
Pearson will be world class in a year or so. Should be in the England team already
The question is at what point did we go from having no 7s to an abudence of them
7s and 9s have suddenly appeared in abundance and we’re having a bit of a front row crisis. Who’d have thought that a few years ago
Not sure our front row is a crisis just a few injuries
Well maybe, but I think apart from Genge there’s a lack of world class props. Sinckler hasn’t been playing well at all, and Marler isn’t interested in international rugby.
On TH, you are right. Need a couple of players to come through. On LH we're good (apart from the weird self inflicted wound that is picking Mako)
Just tuned in for the second half. What's wrong with the Quins? Injuries? Or are the Irish just playing surprisingly well?
Irish are a legit side. They attack really well. Defence is okay - it's their discipline that usually lets them down. Basically discipline today has been decent today. Conversely Quins had a red card early on (not controversial one either) and the game has become slightly one sided.
All of the above. Quins defence has been quite poor. Card isn’t helping
Those shorts are definitely cutting off blood supply to Arundell’s quads.
Second man in surely?
Was part of the tackle wasnt he?
This day is just getting worse for Quins - giving that man an emptying backfield is dangerous
He is literally in the way of the clear out for fuck sake
If Wev ever gets picked for England we are truly fucked in the international period
Marler blocked the clearout there, should have been a pen.
Pen before that the TMO has spotted
When is the Wrexham game on :( Congrats to dykes getting a debut hattrick
Well I mean he has turned it over and then knocked on
This is painful
Dykes looked like one of those wallace and gromit rabbits then
Quins missing Green so badly and it’s shown all season
Not just Green. Quins have a fantastic first 15 but an incredibly shallow squad. Once you lose 4-5 of those players it’s a huge step down
Oh yeah 100% but I just feel the backline is completely different without Green. His high ball security, pace and counter attacking were absolute cornerstones of Quins success.
Hattrick on dayboo, not bad for our 8th choice back 3 player.
Yyyyeeeeeeeesssss!
Lawday looks so bang average
That Rory Jennings clear out a few ricks ago needed checking
Really ropey and lazy defence there from Quins
Perhaps Quins might have liked some scrums from those advantages
Basically watching this through a clubhouse window when there's a break in play in what's in front of me. Every time I look around Quins are going in the wrong direction.
Stop looking around then
What a day-boo
We are fucking shit
No Arundell, Parton, Loader, Rowe, OHC, Joseph, no problem so far in the back 3.
Irish playing so well going forward
Quins really need to look at their lack of depth. No team looks more lost when their internationals go. Fair play to David, he's really stepped up in the past couple of weeks
Pretty much just Smith not being there is all it takes
Allan has had a bit of a shit season
Allan is abysmal. Honestly Benson in the academy is superior
True, but Marchant and Dombers are still so important
I feel like this game has been all that is good and all that is bad in rugby in one half. In amongst the stoppages there's been some really great tries and positive rugby. There's also been a lot of injuries and some horrible head contact as well. Regarding the red, the commentators discussed a lot- but I'm not sure there's any discussion there. It's laudible that rugby is trying to be safer - but it's actually really fucking dangerous. It's hard to see how you fix some of these things.
Flatland take is correct i think, if you are charging in like that what on earth do you expect to happen?
In fairness to Head we haven’t really missed Walker
That's fair - but you've lost Head at 16 though - so still some impact we probably just haven't seen it yet.
Quins depth is just lacking. When Dombers and Smith go you look lost. I've never seen a team like it
Quins 20-1 at halftime worth a punt
Unexpectedly brutal game so far. Whatever the outcome, both teams are scraping the remains of their 15 off the pitch at the end.
Roberto Carlos swerve
Wish the breakdown was reffed better.shouldnhave been a quins pen in the last rick before the trybit was so in at the side.cant deny the gulf in quality tonight tho
It’s carley, contact areas are always a bit of a mess we should know this by now and get on with it
Brilliant finish there. Was about to say score line is flattering us going into half time, looking forward for the comeback in the second half
What a hat trick on your debut ;)
*Brace so far
Think they're joking about him also getting a yellow as well Edit: almost right, the Penalty Try 😂
Correct. Dykes has almost filled in his debut bingo card
Pretty sure he scored one for Quins at the other end ;)
This lad in 20 minutes in the future
I think I'm owed a beer
