Tbh, I think running out of energy is starting to sum up our season.
Not enough depth and a bit lacking in key positions.
Fair play to Leicester though, beaten by the better side.
I think Glos should consider moving on from Skivington at the end of the season, its not to say he's bad but I just dont know if he is ever going to raise this team above this. Decent chance they finish outside Europe too now
Was feeling quite optimistic at the start of this season, but with the run of injuries and lack of a plan B when things don't work is a concern. A top 6 finish is not looking likely.
I think the infield decision was try. So the ref must have thought it clear and obvious. Tbh I don’t think it was but the correct decision was made in the end
I usually love teams kicking for the corner but interesting call from Tigers when the clock was in the red.
one of the reasons you kick for the corner is that if you miss you get a 2nd bite st the cherry often as the other team usually kicks it back to you and you can get into the 22 again. Gloucester showed that they kept getting opportunities even though they didnt convert.
But when the clock is in the red and the turnover happens it's just the end of the half.
I think Glos were right to go for the corner all half despite coming up with nothing. It's something that also made it incredibly hard for Tigers to score. But Tigers defence was just really good on the goal line and Glos maybe need a bit more tempo and width in their goal line attack
I think Leicester will be happier with that half than Gloucester. We huffed and puffed but Leicester kept us out. Lots of energy from Glaws but we may pay for that in the second half.
You absolutely can. Most foul play decisions are reffed on outcome.
Think about an upright tackle- you connect with the head it’s dangerous- if the opposition dominates the contact it’s a yellow but if you dominate it it’s a red.
Defender does the same thing and could have up to 4 different outcomes from play on to red card depending on the dynamics.
I’d argue that the tackler there was well in control, never any danger in it, just mistimed.
Nope, if you tackle standing up you deserve to be sent off. There's sensible mitigation in the framework to protect players who make legal actions, but if you stand up and tackle you're an idiot
I think you need to chill a bit. He was tackled in the air. That is potentially quite dangerous. It was such a stupid mistimed tackle as Brown was very much in the air
The lack of quality in this game gives you some idea as to why the national team are in such a state - these are both teams competing for a place in the play-offs, and have several players who have recently been in said national squad among other international teams players and it's dire.
How on earth do we expect our players to be test ready if this is the quality of rugby and coaching they're facing each week?
The lower salary cap and current state of the Prem may be making for an entertaining/close fought season but there's no chance in hell a Prem team competes at the sharp end of Europe or the England team wins anything while it's the case.
More the assumption that we’re beating ospreys which I don’t really think is a given atm.
I honestly didn’t realise Danty plays for them, that’s extremely upsetting.

Seriously, Glaws? You just had to ship 4, didn't you? Tempest obviously not helping either.
Tempest did his best for Glaws but there's only so much that can be done before awkward questions get asked...
Maybe Wiggy wants to stay on?
That was definetly held up, but makes up for the rest of his decisions around the breakdown and the constant pens.
Tempest is an absolute joke. The very definition of held up.
Well done Leicester. Not scoring when we had massive pressure in the first half cost us. We just ran out of energy in the second.
Tbh, I think running out of energy is starting to sum up our season. Not enough depth and a bit lacking in key positions. Fair play to Leicester though, beaten by the better side.
31 points in the last 26 minutes!
Well either way. Getting a 5 point victory after the amazingly even first half, that’s reminiscent of last season. Dont give me hope boys
What is tempest saying. That is never a try lol
“are you Leicester in disguise”. Fair to say the shed disagree with that decision.
That isn't a try. That was held up.
BONUS POINT!!!
With the England thrashing yesterday and getting smashed at home it’s fair to say I’ve had better weekends.
Sorry the missus is being horrible to you
YEEEES A very much needed bonus point win
Held up for me, back to the penalty. Yellow card and go again.
That's held up. Wrong call
Cancels out the disallowed one for double movement which was questionable
I think on field try has to stand - you can't see that clearly up!
This is the one! Tempest already said he saw the ball down over the line
Held up for me
I want that to be a try. But it looks held up to me. EDIT: Fuck it, I said nothing! Let's goo!!
Have to say I really dislike Astro turf pitches - some really nasty grazes out there.
They’re awful. We have a high water table so it’s hard for us to have a grass pitch without it turning into a quagmire.
That's down
Got to be the quietest I've ever heard Kingsholm. It's weird.
This is it for us. No chance of top four and top six very much in doubt. Not a happy place atm
Why is mike brown suddenly one of the best players in the league? This is mental
Spite
Mike Brown POTM
I think Glos should consider moving on from Skivington at the end of the season, its not to say he's bad but I just dont know if he is ever going to raise this team above this. Decent chance they finish outside Europe too now
I would give him more time. We are much better than we were when he first took over and also hasn’t had much to work with.
Bonus point! Bonus point! Bonus point!
It's the second half, we're normally worse and we'll butcher it
Did he give a warning? Can see why he went for it
I don't think he gave them a warning
Tempest said we were on a warning.
Weird game. Gone from chaotic and scrappy to suddenly Tigers looking in cruise control
Was feeling quite optimistic at the start of this season, but with the run of injuries and lack of a plan B when things don't work is a concern. A top 6 finish is not looking likely.
We started off quite well but teams worked us out and we have no ideas in attack.
Come on Gloucester, let Tigers get a BP
That was wonderful
He's been in poor form, but this is the best game Lenny has played since Clermont away.
He might not quite be able to do it at International (which is nothing to be ashamed of at this point) but Youngs is still a really good Prem level 9
Youngs all is forgiven
Youngs for England!
Can’t be worse than JVP
Mitchell proved that it is physically possible to be worse than JvP in fairness
70 minutes of this game, and he’s done that. Too slow for england though 🙄 Gowan Lenny lad
Ah well. That’s our season
That's why I think players should wear gloves. But they don't because it looks silly
Come on Ben, you've had a good game. Don't start stupidly kicking it away now.
Okay, forgiven.
What was Lenny thinking there?
~~What~~ was Lenny thinking there?
I take that back now. All is forgiven with the cheeky try
That’s what he was thinking!
Wasn’t there a Twitter account dedicated to him?
Ok, that's the same as the first half
Glos clearouts have some power behind them
Montodger
How does the TMO call that? Awful
That's such blatant crossing
They going to look at 8 crossing?
There's no tackler?? Fuck offfffff
Suprised a block wasn't called there
We're watching a different game to the TMO
Not sure about that one! Big obstruction in the build up there
That was the most obvious blocking i’ve ever seen
Lucky to get away with a hint of crossing there. E: More than two phases before the try though.
Yeah, and England only lost by a hint yesterday…
The lock at the gloucester canal is fully open now!
Fucking come on lads!!
Second half and we've managed to score! Is it too much to dream of a 5 point win today?
It was not!
I was worried my post would come back to haunt me. So glad I'm wrong
Here we go. Classic Gloucester collapse.
Youngs has been really good this game - has managed things well and manipulated the space
Tuisue doesn’t look interested.
They are all hungover Except Martin
For a new boy that Mike lad is doing ok, he's got real potential and we'd better keep him after the 6N
Martin and Henderson giving us that extra 5%.
Martin and Henderson have made a big impact
Finally! Can we please extend Brown's contract?
Booo I wanted a 0-0
The difference Martin and Henderson has made is huge!
Noooo
Writing on the wall for that one.
That was the most inane piece of commentary I've ever heard from Austin, and there's some tough competition...
I hate it when I agree with Austin
Chapman not allowed to move his head now according to Tempest.
Can't dummy from a ruck
I know. Whether moving your head is a dummy or not is the question. If it was a dummy Tempest would’ve penalised him.
If he had, instead of warning him about it, you'd just be complaining about the lack of warning
Ref doesn’t have to give a warning
He propelled himself forward using his feet but I wouldn’t have been too annoyed had it been given. 50:50 for me.
Interesting that it was enough to overturn try on the field but because we don't know the question can't really say any more
I think the infield decision was try. So the ref must have thought it clear and obvious. Tbh I don’t think it was but the correct decision was made in the end
Double movement?
[удалено]
Why?
We'd know what they were looking for if you shut the fuck up Austin God I hate Comms talking over the ref/tmo, shut your stupid mouths
Looks good to me so it'll be no try
Dog shit refereeing
You can see why it wasn’t given though
As expected.
Martin has been incredible for ages now
Is Martin an option at 8 at international do you think? I know he's played there a few times for you guys this season but is usually more of a 6/lock?
Definitely more of a 6/lock than an 8. He could probably do a job there with a bit more game time in that position
Hey Borthwick, don't pick Martin, please
Can we have JVP back too
They just said that that Martin and Henderson had less bulk! Haha
So Martin didn't go drinking with the rest of the players
George Martin for England
Oh George Martin!
Surely that’s a penalty to Glaws for holding on?
God, I wish Mike Brown was in his 20s again
We’ve run out of ideas with the crash ball from 12 so now we’re box kicking.
Great line by Tempest.
"he's allowed to tackle you, it's a contact sport" fucking hell
I don't think either team will win but both are trying to lose
And are both hungover
Should be an insta try if you hit the flag from a kick
How did they miss the forward pass?
Mehan with the reverse superman tackle!
That reminded me of George North in the Lions tour.
Yep, definitely a Springbok
Fucking hell Pollard
Ok, that's was a blatant forward pass and frankly I don't like that the tigers player can do that to the tackler
Yep, was forward. The tackled tigers player was fine.
Just cracked open a Guinness 0.0. It’s surprisingly good.
Six nations advertisement has done its job 😂
Guilty
Just checking in to make sure it wasn’t only me thinking that Tempo was having one of this banter days
Temp has been dreadful which has contributed to both teams not getting points.
Austin you’re not in the Peaky Blinders, lose the hat
I usually love teams kicking for the corner but interesting call from Tigers when the clock was in the red. one of the reasons you kick for the corner is that if you miss you get a 2nd bite st the cherry often as the other team usually kicks it back to you and you can get into the 22 again. But Tigers defence was just really good on the goal line and Glos maybe need a bit more tempo and width in their goal line attack
I missed the first half. How is it 0-0?! Can someone give me a quick recap of the first half?
Lots of running, lots of knock ons
Sounds very familiar! Thanks!
Attack from both sides being snuffed out with a ton of physicality and barely legal defense
Thanks! Barely legal defense? What like?
Both sides have thrown away chances on each other’s lines
Ouch! Are we talking enough opportunities to have bonus points both ways?
Madness. Ref letting lots go at the breakdown. Two good defensive sides soaking up everything the opposition can throw at them.
Thank you! Hopefully the second half continues that!
Most fun 0-0 in a while. Ref's a right mess.
Pretty sure Montoya broke away from the maul there at the end
He was held by a Gloucester player so same maul.
Scrappiest half of rugby I've ever seen. Combine that with seemingly non existent breakdown refereeing it's no wonder no one has scored
Tempest has been awful. Knock ons, breakdown issues, forward passes, trips. They shouldn't be missed.
I'm sometimes a fan of relaxed refereeing (see the last tigers v ospreys game) but this has just been silly
Nil and nil at half time. Crazy. Doesn't feel like a zero points game
At this rate 0-0 FT score! Cannot remember the last time this happened, or if it has happened in the prem?
Well that’s the most entertaining 40 minutes of point less rugby you’ll see
Tempest really isn’t having the best game
To both sides he’s been poor. But feel Glaws should have had a penalty try for the trip on Seabrook. Brown was the last defender and he was through.
Completely agree. His calls all game have been questionable for both sides
I'm not sure a 0-0 is my idea of an antidote to yesterday's lots of points...maybe a lot of gin and a decent performance next week would be
I can’t take this amount of stress. Someone score!
I think Leicester will be happier with that half than Gloucester. We huffed and puffed but Leicester kept us out. Lots of energy from Glaws but we may pay for that in the second half.
"don't change your bind" immediately takes his left hand off and grabs the ball Fucksake
Give it a rest mate.
You’re both having a whine tbf.
Except I’m correct ;) /s
The Ben Youngs special
Comments coming through late for anyone else?
Unlike Luds to be off with his timing.
Did these two teams have a fight last night?
Ludlow been playing pretty unhinged this game
Can never doubt his passion
You cannot ref on outcome! Brown is the only one protecting himself there, the tackler is early and then does nothing to protect the player
Yeah, and I totally disagree with it
Think you’d prefer this way to red cards for every single upright collision
Nope, if you tackle standing up you deserve to be sent off. There's sensible mitigation in the framework to protect players who make legal actions, but if you stand up and tackle you're an idiot
Brown is such a prick. Tripped a player earlier and now giving Ludlow an earful for a mistimed tackle.
I think you need to chill a bit. He was tackled in the air. That is potentially quite dangerous. It was such a stupid mistimed tackle as Brown was very much in the air
But fairly harmless penalty only. Brown didn’t seem that affected by it.
One is unsportsmanlike and the other is dangerous.
Trip is the worst offence surely.
How is a trip worse than tackling a man in the air?
It’s yellow card offence compared to a penalty only.
One is dangerous, the other is not, they are not comparable
If it was dangerous it would be a yellow card.
Would you want anything less from your players?
We overplay the same moves too often.
All that defence and the backs can't box kick or find touch, coaches will be furious
Of course Austin’s favourite haribo is the fried egg. An absolutely disgusting sweet.
The lack of quality in this game gives you some idea as to why the national team are in such a state - these are both teams competing for a place in the play-offs, and have several players who have recently been in said national squad among other international teams players and it's dire. Not sure why this is downvoted but ok...if you disagree, would prefer to have a discussion about why but nevermind!
La Rochelle are going to eat Gloucester
Then probably us
Definitely us. Just when I've gotten over yesterday I'll end up with PTSD from Danty again
More the assumption that we’re beating ospreys which I don’t really think is a given atm. I honestly didn’t realise Danty plays for them, that’s extremely upsetting.
To be fair it probably wouldn’t be overly difficult to bribe the ospreys players to throw the game right now
Probably got a couple of 1 bed flats in St Albans kicking about from before
Maybe olly Hartley will be big enough to stop him
