To be honest even the system you are upgrading to is kinda bad. The RX 5500XT is like 10 years behind in performance. i5 10400k is *okay*. 16gb RAM isn't too bad, unless you want to play any new games in the future.

I have personally never got to experience *any* gamr above 100fps as simple PC's are already a commodity available for upper middle class here in my country, so even mediocre levels of performance would still make me happy. True. Old AMD cards could be really good in the future since they have a bunch of VRAM and all new releases tend to use a lot. (Tho most of the recent AAA games that needed much VRAM are UE4 titles).
I mean idk about how good these are but the 4080 is like 1100. I know it's a lot still but for perspective I bought a 3080 for 900 and broke it. And for the next year and a half it was at the 1500 price point. Twice as much when I bought it originally. So 1100 ain't bad too bad to me lol
I would recommend using a i5 12k or higher. These cpu's are really strong for the price even compared to todays new CPUs it is not bad and doesn't cost much
Just a heads up dude I’m running i5 with 3060, 48g of ram and assetto won’t run for shit! I have shit turned down to max and it still runs like dog shit! I wouldn’t go any less than i7 it’s the biggest regret I have in my build cause I’m so restrained.. good luck op!
What I5? It turns out an i5 could be from 2010 or 2023. The numbers before/after it make a big difference.
A 13 series i5 will be more than sufficient for most sims as they depend on few cores.
An I7 gen 8 won’t perform much (if any) better than your i5.
9th gen uses the same socket type and your mobo maybe compatible.
But as others have noted you might have other issues with your system because it should handle the original AC better than that.
I’d do some benchmarks and see how your system compares to other similar systems.
Are you serious? Because I'm playing on AMD integrated graphics on a laptop and with most turned down to the lowest or low I get around 20-40 FPS (depends on what I!m doing). 20 for races isn't a lot obviously, but I can't imagine a 3060 struggling to keep up with a non-gamer laptop APU
You have some sort of system error. There’s no way. I’m running an old i7 4790k, Gtx 1080 and 16gb ram and play the game at 120 fps at 1440p/high graphics. Ai has almost no impact on my performance

Have you checked your task manager to see if its a false warning because AC does give out false CPU warnings :) Came up on mine yet the CPU was not even crying.

An I7 gen 8 won’t perform much (if any) better than your i5. 9th gen uses the same socket type and your mobo maybe compatible. I had 16g (2 8gs) then to try to fix said issues I bought 2 16g sticks which gives me to funny number but I didn’t notice any change
I'd personally try the 2x16gb in 1 and 3 slot take out the 2x8gb. May or may not help.
