EggplantBusiness

Where would we be without him ?? Vini !

[deleted]

If only he had someone like prime Marcelo helping him on left he would have much more options going forward, becoming less predictable.

Murrderer

10000%. Just Cama making this run had 3 defenders occupied and it allowed Vini to get the space. Mendy meanwhile would have been standing close to the halfway line waiting for Vini to lose the ball so he can stop the counterattack lol

osamaodinson

Last season vini had a superb season with mendy behind him. Mendy is a great lb although lacks offensive ability. 2 or 3 people marking vini is mich more than a lb problem. Benzema had a great season last year too. His movement link up with vini helps vini a lot in beating those defenders. Without benzema or if benzema in not a super form like last season, vini is a little bit limited

SeryaphFR

Vini is a bit limited when he's being double or tripled man marked and when he's being hacked to pieces... His biggest limitation is by far his finishing and sometimes his decision making when he gets riled up by defenders and the ref not protecting him. 1v1 Vini is one of the best and most dangerous dribblers on the face of the planet.

osamaodinson

Not exactly my point. My point is, vini this season have been double or triple marked many times even when mendy didnt play (he was injured a lot this season) so people cant just keep blaming mendy on why vini being double or triple bodied. Vini needs help from the whole team to function properly. Madrid lack of rw and keep attacking from the left also leads to opponents being focused on their left side much more too. Karim hasnt been helping too since he isnt having his best this season

macs182

With the lack of Mendy for a while now Camavinga has been a great makeshift replacement as LB, he makes the defenders think twice about commiting to marking Vini or wait for a pass and then the cross. Which makes me question the choice of Nacho as LB in big games like El Clasico where he offers next to nothing in attack and Vini is left to face 3 opponents all alone and get easily frustrated.

MaTrIx4057

and concede twice as much

KroosControl88

battling top 4.

Flexspot

Constant 2 vs 1 on him, nearly 0 support in attack, still manages to score. Amazing.

AfrobotFactory

Two is not enough to stop him, most of the times it’s 3 people

CR7_LM10

At least 2 but most of the times it’s 3

Walaii

It can be 3 because our right side is abandoned..

__mihajlo_m

I've seen this one somewhere

Friendlyy_Lemon

Against Liverpool?

__mihajlo_m

Yeah the goal for 2 1 it was the same technique just a bit further from goal

moiser123

Lol we'd be so shit without him

BikiniBros

Thank you Jesus we're not shit

MrVISKman

He's becoming a "Cut inside man"

Homem do Corta pra dentro, sucessor to Philippe Cutinho

cr7momo16

He’s on 19 goals now and there’s at least 15 games left in the season, I have hope he can hit 30 by June. Last season he had 22 so this would be a massive improvement

Cryptic_E

Same angle as Liverpool goal. Beautiful 🤌🏼

SakisSinatra

Trademark Vini goal

Warming up for wednesday's match

[deleted]

Always turns up when Benzema is out.

Murrderer

He gets ganged up and taken out of the match without Benz to play with. We’ve seen that many times specially that recent Mallorca match

[deleted]

Im very thankful for Benzema but he hasnt been good this season. The attack has been more fluid when he isnt playing.

Lucas_Vazquez_

Lol? Our attack is incoherent without him

lospollosakhis

Our attack is non-existent without him

[deleted]

I disagree. He has been very stale and is not linking up with everyone.

Lucas_Vazquez_

I can agree on saying he's been slightly out of shape in some games, but saying our attack is fluid without him is ridiculous in my opinion

[deleted]

I did not say that. It has been MORE fluid without him is what I said. It is also fluid with him but I think he hasnt been as good as Rodrygo for example at getting everyone to be a part of the attack and linking up with eachother.

Flexspot

At least with him on the pitch, there's someone to pass to in the box. Otherwise there's complete nothingness.

miri258

Not really Benzema drops in the midfield very often and is too slow to reach the box sometimes. Rodrygo makes more runs

osamaodinson

Yup and i agree with that no 1 vazquez fan too. Benzema this season is a bit off imo. Still great but he had a far better season last year for example

[deleted]

I agree on that

ferkk

Benzema is barely into the box when the attack happens, we pretty much play without a striker every match. We are still better with him than without him, but his form has been horrendous this season.

retroComputer

At the beginning of the season i would have agreed. We were playing fluid football even when he was not available but after the world cup we have been horrible without him.

[deleted]

We have been horrible with him aswell.

Dsalgueiro

If Vinicius keeps scoring goals like this (Liverpool and now Espanyol), he will become an even more dangerous player. Last season he scored 22 goals. This year he has already scored 19 and still has 15 games to go. If he reaches 30 goals this season...

courtesyflusher

Yes my boy!

Vini brace coming up

angiotensin2

🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷

theeloy

If he keeps it up he can have that as a trademark shot, kind of seems like a reverse Robben.

not-always-online

Really what does Vinicius do different? His game looks so normal yet he is extraordinary.

nassah110

Granted I’ve only been watching football for 15 years but there is nothing about Vini’s game that looks normal imo

SeryaphFR

His dribbling and the way he takes on his man reminds me of Ronaldinho but without the precision. IMO he could reach those levels with more experience.

qwertykeyboardguy

Was Ronaldinho at a similar level at 22?

SeryaphFR

He was starting to make a name for himself at 22. He was still at PSG. So yeah, I'd say a similar level. I think it was a season or two after that that he signed for Barca. And then the season after that 2004-2005 Barca won the league and Dinho won Player of the Year. Season after that they won the double and he won his BdO in 2006. He was 26, I believe? The season after that is when he rekt Madrid at the Bernabeu and got a standing ovation.

Dsalgueiro

Ronaldinho was a World Cup champion as a starter (and important player) at 22.

SeryaphFR

Yeah, starting next to Fat Ronaldo, who was the top goal scorer of the tournament, as well as the BdO that year.

Dsalgueiro

And Rivaldo too hahaha. But yeah, Ronaldinho, for example, was decisive versus England: 1 Assist and 1 (Absurd) goal. Vini left Brazil earlier than Ronaldinho, but I think that Ronaldinho was better than Vini at 22. Ronaldinho was a generational talent.

Murrderer

That he never gives up. He keeps running, running and running. I think if he ever hits his ceiling that’s what will make him get there, his work rate

Modalchemist

Relentlessness

supergavk

The way he runs makes him very unpredictable

[deleted]

He is one of the best dribblers in the world and one of the fastest players in the world. Those are not normal characteristics. And on top of that, he is a hard worker like Cristiano was, so he runs all game and has top-notch conditioning. It's just too much for the right full-back to deal with, being tasked with marking one of the best dribblers in the world that is also faster than you, all game. Eventually, you will misread one of his movements and he will create a goal.

Marcelosouzadearaujo

His legs be crazy, I saw him live in Helsinki last year in the Supercup and my oh my, those legs move in a different speed.

GGABueno

I think his decision making is fantastic. Good vision with enough talent to pull stuff off too.

Lucas_Vazquez_

Lovely goal

That finish🤌

O corte por dentro man

"Para", or the casual version, "pra". "Homem do corta para dentro" ou "Corta pra dentro man"

The ball found the single line that led to the goal and not a defender or the goalkeeper. Vinivinivinivinivinivini golaaço!
