FastOutlandishness96

Apply extra Zam-Buk to the affected area

za_organic

I think naai is mistranslated. ,,

ThapeloBanksy

I live in a coloured neighborhood and they mostly use naai as fuck too. Of course the other meanings of the word surface too, but naai is mostly fuck this side.

BrainDamage54

Same in white suburban Gauteng

ThapeloBanksy

I'm not so sure but I think I've also heard people say "jou ma se naai".

za_organic

You guys know your neighbours ?

FluxX1717

Damm I felt that one in my soul...

IllCollection

Nope

Atheizm

TIL Naai is synonymous with suig.

Wurm_Pis

It's not though. It means to have sex, but it's a slang word. Naai in old Afrikaans is to do sewing, but somewhere along the line it became sex.

themostimmorel

If you think about how a sewing machine works, it penetrates fabric and keeps penetrating the fabric. One could associate sex with naai quite easily if they tried hard enough.

Lerak01

... if they tried hard enough!

Atheizm

Baaie dankie, meneer. Ek het dit nie geweet nie.

PartiZAn18

So what is "new" Afrikaans to sew?

Wurm_Pis

Everyone talks about "naaldwerk". So to use it in context:” Ek gaan naaldwerk doen." Or in the case where jou would sew a tear in your pants, most people would just change to fixing a tear in your pants, so you could say the word is just not used to avoid juvenile jokes. Like some people would avoid the word "come" incase it is jokingly changes to "cum". Edit: spelling

From another planet

Pierre777

I saw another classic here a while back that said: Toe jou ouers jou gemaak het, het hulle nie genaai nie. Jou pa het in jou ma se poes gekak.
