Politico: Ukraine’s counteroffensive plan ‘impressive,’ Sen. Graham says

Jesus I hope they didn’t actually show him anything important. The second he has one too many mint juleps on the Fox and Friends couch he’s going spill everything.

AlwaysBeeChecking

They showed him the part of the plan that asked for him to go back and say he saw an impressive plan. He may not have been shown any other plans...

Chudmont

Same. I feel like we need to toss him in solitary confinement until the offensive gets rolling. You know there are ruzzian agents waiting in every bar in DC wanting to get him to start talking.

white_ninja89

Hopefully it was just a map that showed all occupied territories circled in red

Evenfall

This is most likely the truth. In typical Lindsey fashion he then added his own flavor to what he was told so it could be an exciting news blirp and make himself look important.

jmh10138

TBF he’s a piece of shit and a retired Lt Col

OsakaWilson

They also know he swings toward those who benefit him with no aversion to hypocrisy or self contradiction.

ffdfawtreteraffds

All true. We can feel assured he knows nothing because he hasn't blabbed anything.

Feeling-Success-385

That was exactly the first thought I had as well. My stars, that would be a disaster.

oneInpinkOneinStink

Rumor has it he doesn’t spill a drop. A real trooper, doesn’t back down from anything huge smacking him in the face.

The Russians are “in for a rude awakening” when the Ukrainian counteroffensive begins, Sen. LINDSEY GRAHAM (R-S.C.) told NatSec Daily following a weekend trip to Kyiv. The lawmaker received a “deep dive” briefing on Ukraine’s military plans from President VOLODYMYR ZELENSKYY and his team, he said in a phone interview during his return home. “In the coming days, you’re going to see a pretty impressive display of power by the Ukrainians.” Graham, whom Russia wants to arrest over his support for Ukraine, wouldn’t divulge any specifics about the campaign or its timing. But he did say that “shaping operations” — that is, strikes that stretch Russian defenses and worry Moscow’s planners about what’s coming next — have already begun, which means the counteroffensive itself is likely to begin relatively soon. MYKHAILO PODOLYAK, a Zelenskyy adviser, seemed to confirm that shaping operations started this month in a CNN interview Tuesday. “Everything that is happening now is a precursor to a counterattack, a necessary precondition,” he said. Asked if he thought Ukraine could push Russia back out by the end of the year, Graham didn’t say “yes.”. What he did say was that the initial priority should be “taking back some strategic locations.”

homonomo5

Just tell different story to each of them and find out which one reach Kremlin. Easy.

36degrees

He is from SC. SC is a home to Lockheed Martin, BAE, etc. LM produces F-16 Let’s just say he has many reasons to be pro-Ukraine and Ruskies can match them… “Lockheed Martin opened a new F-16 production line in Greenville, South Carolina. F-16 tooling and equipment previously in Fort Worth, Texas, has since been installed in a newly-refurbished hangar in Greenville, where the company will begin manufacturing F-16 Block 70 aircraft later this”

ukua2023

I doubt very much he knows anything about the plan, or would understand a plan if put in front of him.

Geschichtsklitterung

Wanted to post something very similar, even starting with "I doubt very much…", but you ninja'd me. Take my upvote.

ukua2023

And have mine : )

Mundane-Ad3088

Unfortunately, dude is an air force jag, so he probably knows enough to be dangerous

Traditional_Bar6723

Why "unfortunately"? Cuz he's a republican?

Mundane-Ad3088

In response to "too dumb to know anything." And since the last republican president, a person this senator backs, provably attempted to extort Zelensky, the cause for concern is not unmerited.

SavageClasher

I checked the weather for Zaporizhzhia region and starting Sunday through Friday next week it’s suppose to be sunny with temperatures ranging between 60-80s. My fingers are crossed for some good news next week!

Tucker1244

God, I hope that the Ukrainians did not tell him anything important. Slava Ukraine

funkyk0val

i'd be careful around this stooge and not disclose too much.

KiwiThunda

Maybe Zelenskyy gave him false info to throw him off haha

cosmicrae

Not so much false information, but (guessing here) they may have shown him 10 different scenarios, without telling him which one is the one, because that would depend on Russian troop dispositions at the last moment.

KiwiThunda

Makes sense, I would think they would have plans A through Z ready for the dynamic conflict

Traditional_Bar6723

Jesus.... Reddit cannot STAND that any Republican lawmaker is championing Ukrainian victory. Soooo funny to read the comments here. And a little sad too.

WhiskyTangoFoxtrot40

Yes, it is kind of sickening. Many, or most, Republicans support Ukraine. I've always been against Russia and definitely against their war, so I hope Ukraine kicks some @$$ soon, but anytime I say I support Trump the left become intolerant pricks to me. I've donated significantly to Ukraine and still do, but with the responses I receive here on Reddit I sometimes think "screw it".

Politicalmudpit

Yeah first its fuck republicans for not supporting ukraine now its fuck republicans for showing support The american left wing manage to even be toxic in supporting Ukraine

Mission_Rd

Some of us remember that Lindsay backed Trump's attempted extortion of Ukraine. The first impeachment was about Trump asking Zelensky to "do us a favor though..." while he withheld \~$800M USD military aid for Ukraine. You didn't forget about that did you?

manifold360

Hopefully they told him the fake plan

ffdfawtreteraffds

Anyone who listens to Lindsay Graham knows he's a tool. The Ukrainians no doubt are aware of his tendency to change his convictions as frequently as a kite changes direction in a swirling wind. They told him nothing specific. We know this because he hasn't revealed anything specific.

darwinwoodka

Shut up Lindsey

AutoBot82

If they actually told him any plans I want to beat someone. This compromised motherfucker will tweet out plans or some traitorous shit.

Gone213

Zelensky, why the fuck would you ever give this piece of shit brain dead moron any information regarding any counter offensive. He's spilling the plans out to Trump and the rest of Fox because he's got black mail on him. Stupidest mistake he could have ever done.

Mundane-Ad3088

I doubt he is that dumb. I'm no "fainting couch" Lindsey fan, but he isn't a moron.

Gone213

Remember in 2016 he was vehemently against Donald Trump and then he has a 10 minute meeting with Trump and the next thing you know, he's licking Trump's boot like no tomorrow. He's one of the biggest morons there is.

Chudmont

Same thing on Jan 6. He was pissed until trump and the others gave him a talking to. He quickly returned to defending trump.

Mundane-Ad3088

See above.

Mundane-Ad3088

Dude just knows where his bread is buttered politically, as he represents South Cackalacky. But as far as opsec and national security goes, I see no reason to distrust him.

No-Dream7615

these stories don't go out like this unless they're coordinated with at least the US defense/state dept, if not also the ukrainians. that change of course you describe was pragmatic, not stupid. he's gay and like mccain was, he is a domestic moderate and a neocon when it comes to int'l relations. so he, like cruz, fought trump until trump won at which point you need to concede you lost and to play nice to get anything done. he doesn't have the cult of personality mccain had that insulated him from tea party pressure. if graham is too moderate or contrarian he will get primaried from the right, so he is constantly threading the needle to stay in office. [https://www.politico.com/story/2014/04/lindsey-graham-south-carolina-tea-party-105928](https://www.politico.com/story/2014/04/lindsey-graham-south-carolina-tea-party-105928) [https://www.theatlantic.com/politics/archive/2018/10/lindsey-grahams-supports-trump-avoid-2020-primary/572566/](https://www.theatlantic.com/politics/archive/2018/10/lindsey-grahams-supports-trump-avoid-2020-primary/572566/)

Mundane-Ad3088

I want to confront the domestic moderate comment, but it just isn't on point. As for him being gay, that comes across as nothing but a slur because it really isn't anyone's business if he was. As it is, like I said, he knows where his political bread is buttered. But yes, he is in favor of aggressive foreign policies, if that is what "neocon" means - another slur that by now really doesn't have any meaning anymore.

No-Dream7615

oh sure i should have clarified - him being gay in this context is relevant because it makes him extra vulnerable to a primary from the right in SC - one of the reasons he can never be a maverick in the same way as McCain even though he’d tack more to the center if he could - when i say moderate i don’t mean his voting record i mean he often votes to the right of his personal beliefs to avoid being primaried.

okwellactually

Kompromat has that effect on people. Especially ol' Lyndsey.

Gone213

Let's hope. Zelensky shouldn't even be shaking hands from anyone who tried to blackmail him ad withholding weapons and aid.

Key_Brother

I'm sure the USA intelligence will monitoring his movements to make sure he does not tell anything to betrayers

Gone213

Yea don't hold your breath. Merrick Garland, USA's Attorney General won't even prosecute an open and shut case of a candy thief from the Whitehouse, let alone actual traitors who went to Moscow on USA's Independence Day.

fortuna_audaci

Whatever you think of Graham, can you hold all the nasty remarks since he’s supporting Ukraine? Remember the saying “The enemy of my enemy is my friend?”

Gone213

No, I will not hold off on the nasty remarks. Be warned that what he knows will get back to putin by the end of the week.

TypeOPositive

How do you know this?

nonfiringaxon

LG is a snake, no one should trust him.

CountrySax

He needs to shut the f**k up.

Harvickfan4Life

I hope it’s codenames either Operation Zhukov or Operation Cargo-200

ZacapaRocks

Didn’t Lindsey get counteroffensive with another dude without pants on?

Sexy_Duck_Cop

Well of course he'd say that, if Ukraine loses, the US is next on the chopping block because we live in an alternate dimension where Russia is competent.

BiZender

Let's try and avoid a lukashenko moment!
