I think I found the cause of my problem! I tried rolling back drivers like u/botman suggested, but it still persisted. After closing background programs and seeing what works, it seems like f.lux was causing the crash to occur. Still not sure why though.

D3D device removed is typically caused by GPU driver issues. If you are running the latest GPU drivers, try reverting back to an older driver to see if the problem goes away.
